Snakes and Eagles are Locked in Battle
When the snakes and humans returned to the cave, the food was still there. Bai Qingqing held onto the food but had no appetite.
Cortis says, “Let's go. We'll leave the rice here in case it gets wet. ”
“En.”
As they stepped out of the cave, a black shadow flashed swiftly on the ground.
Bai Qingqing immediately looked up towards the sky, facing the sun. A huge black eagle was circling in the sky, staring at them with a sharp gaze. Suddenly, the black eagle swooped down, letting out a high-pitched cry.
“Pekik—!”
Cortis pushed Bai Qingqing into the cave and turned her upper body into her snake form as well.
The black eagle came with a strong and swift momentum, swooping down to the ground like a meteor. However, Cortis swiftly avoided the eagle's attack. He swept ferociously with his tail, making the eagle fly out.
Bai Qingqing's heart pounded very quickly as she continued to get close to the wall, wanting to sneak out. Cortis did not turn his head, but with a sweep of his tail, he blocked Bai Qingqing's path, holding her inside the cave.
“Hiss ~” She stuck out her red tongue from her round snake head, her blood-colored pupils staring at the black eagle with a cold gaze.
Moore flapped his wings and flew. When he saw the woman behind the snake beastman, he shouted shrillly once again, lunging forward.
Cortis naturally understood why the eagle beast was screaming. The leopard ferocious beasts were all around and had to rush back.
He was not afraid of this group of beastmen. He was only worried that he would not be able to take care of the woman and that they would snatch her in the midst of the chaos.
Cortis wanted to end this battle quickly. He retreated slightly, quietly waiting for an opportunity to make a move. As his opponent flew within his strike range, Cortis suddenly attacked at lightning speed, darting out quickly and biting the eagle.
Screeched! The black eagle screamed in pain, his voice so sharp that it felt like a needle had pierced through one's brain.
Moore did not expect that the four-branched snake beast man could move that fast. He could almost be said to be invincible in close combat. The agility the eagle beastmen had from birth allowed him to instinctively dodge attacks in his vitals, and he was only bitten in the chest.
The domineering snake poison caused his head to turn dizzy, and it was difficult for him to stand up straight. He then caught a glimpse of a group of yellow colors through his blurred vision.
“Volley!” The leopard beast finally rushed back.
Cortis wrapped Bai Qingqing in his tail and turned her upper body into a human form. He then took her to the river.
The leopard beast within the water chased after with all their might, but they could only watch as the snake beast brought the female along with it, getting further and further away from them. After the snake beast swerved, they completely lost track of it.
The night came again, and sparks appeared somewhere in the forest.
Bai Qingqing curled her body as she stayed near the fire to get warm. He felt very hot in the village, but here, he always felt cold. It was as if it was a completely different season.
Cortis's. Bai Qingqing called out softly.
Cortis looked at him and moved closer to the fire. The light illuminated his black and red tail, causing his skin to dry up and causing him pain.
“Is the eagle okay?” Bai Qingqing asked, hugging her legs even tighter, feeling uncomfortable.
“He will die,” Cortis said very simply.
Bai Qingqing suddenly turned her head and looked at Cortis, asking, “Why? He was fine before. He managed to fly. “
Bai Qingqing's face was extremely pale, and her eyes were sore and hot. He lifted his head, forcing his tears back in.
Cortis patted Bai Qingqing on the head, thinking that the woman was very gentle and tender-hearted. This was something he could not understand.
What is so strange about death? If there were no murders, how could they survive? After all, didn't that woman eat meat as well? Why was he still crying over the other party's death?
