Why do they hate my sister ?

Indeed, all the way back when we went to school, Betrand kept holding my hand.

On the way to school today, I kept comforting Betrand so that he would not grieve over her treatment and Mother's Father's words towards her.

Suddenly...

"ALLEN, BETRAND...!" someone called us.

We turned our bodies around.

"Eh.Hey, Riq?" I kindly greet a boy like me named Thoriq.

His name is Thoriq Rizky Ahmad Maulidan. He was my only friend from childhood. Our age is only 8 days. We are known as a pair of children who have a lot in common, until things are fairly trivial. Many people thought we were twins. But it does not have a blood relationship.

With her trademark smile, Thoriq immediately approached me.

"Go to school together, yuk!" thoriq.

"Yes, come!" my reply.

"Hey, Betrand! How do you look sad, anyway?" greet Thoriq kindly to Betrand while holding his cheek.

"No, brother!" betrand replied briefly with a faint smile.

Thoriq simply smiled as he stroked Betrand's head.

"Kak-Betrand first, yes. If you go home to school wait for me, brother!" betrand said while greeting me.

"Yes, Deck. Learn really yes and keep the spirit!" I said to embrace him.

"Yes, Brother" he replied with a smile.

"Hm... Betrand why else, Ul?" ask Thoriq carefully.

"Regularly," I replied briefly as I sighed.

"Your parents are still behaving badly towards him, Ul?" thoriq.

I just nodded my head.

"Actually I don't think you know, why try your parents behaving like that to Betrand?! Betrand is good, smart, talented. What did he try less of?!" thoriq.

"Well, that's it, Riq! But there's one thing that makes me guess if that's the thing that makes my parents not like Betrand" I said.

"Oh yeah? What'sthat?" asked Thoriq while looking at me seriously.

"So actually in my extended family it's mostly boys, Riq. Betrand is the youngest. And ever since Betrand was in the womb, my extended family has felt that the child conceived by my mother was a girl. They don't want to be in our family giving birth to a boy. But reality did not live up to their expectations. Sounds crazy, Riq!" I clearly felt sad.

"W-What's the reason Betrand is a boy and your parents don't like him?!" thoriq said in shock.

"Yes, even from a small parent we never want to ngasuh Betrand," I explained.

"Geez! How is that, anyway?" thoriq asked with a very shocked face.

"Already,Riq! As long as there is me, God willing, Betrand will be fine!" I said with firmness.

"Yes-excitement yes, Ul.Jaga be nice to your sister!" thoriq said as he patted my shoulder slowly.

The bell has rung. Children at this school also began to fall into their respective classes.

Yes, this is the morning routine at SD Semesta Bilingual School.
