BERHALA ISLAND

BERHALA ISLAND
EPISODE 54: THE RED MOON

That night was the night of the full moon. Podin walked from his room, heading outside his rented house. Outside the house, he saw the full moon that had just appeared in the eastern sky, in a crimson color, as if it was covered in blood.

Podin recalled, where on every night of the full moon, on the island of Idhala must have held a sacrificial offering ritual. Yes, as was the case two months ago, Podin was carrying a kidnapped street child at a crossroads, and the little girl he kidnapped was sacrificed in the palace of Pulau Berhala for offerings to the ruler of Pulau Berhala. At that time, his offering that sacrificed the boy made a lot of money, resulting in a lot of jewelry, diamond gems, and gold coins that flowed in the treasure chest that he brought home from the Island of Idols.

Podin watched the red full moon, as if he were watching a drop of the blood of the child he had sacrificed. The boy he stabbed with the dagger was holding the idol's eye. Podin still remembered when the boy's neck was emitting a liquid of blood flowing on the offering stone. Then the blood dripped into the treasure chest, and each drop turned into beautiful jewels and jewels. But when Podin was looking at the round moon, he suddenly gasped in surprise. From the red moonlight came the shadowy figure of a human child. It just looks like a silhouette of a boy. Podin closely watched the black shadow that seemed to cover the moon. Yes, Podin remembered exactly, the silhouette was the shadow of the little street child he had kidnapped. The street child he sacrificed in the palace of Pulau Berhala. The shadow that closes the red moon is increasingly visible. Not even a visible shadow, but a living boy. The boy who walked. The boy who looks real.

Podin remembered very well what he saw. Podin remembered very well with the little girl he had taken to the Island of Pahala, a daughter to be sacrificed in the sacrificial stone. Yes, that shadow has already transformed into a little girl. The shadow that covered the month had turned into a girl, a street child who had been kidnapped by Podin, a street child who had been invited to eat by Podin, street children who have been bought rice with fried chicken by Podin, street children who were promised to be invited to travel on an island by boat by Podin. The little girl, now appeared to Podin again.

"Sir ..." as soon as the voice of the silhouette shadow that covered the red moon was heard.

Odin's heart. He's starting to get scared. He knew exactly the voice of the boy. And who had just called him, was really the voice of the child whom Podin invited into the palace of Pulau Berhala. The voice that called him with the words "Sir" was the voice of a girl, a little girl named Dewi, a little boy who was likened to his own child.

Podin's eyes stared intently at the shadow of the little girl who seemed to cover the full moon that was poking out of the eastern sky. Podin's gaze was only on the little boy who covered the moon. Everything is no different. Everything was exactly the same as the little girl he had kidnapped from the streets, and he cut her neck on a ranged stone, an offering stone in the palace of Pulau Berhala.

The frightened Podin, started to step slowly. Podin tried, wanting to get to the boy. He wanted to make sure, was it true that the little girl was really the child that he had sacrificed on the rock range? Or is it just the illusory shadow of the poden alone, who sees the faintly cut off boy's neck?

Podin came back closer, heading towards the boy. Suddenly, however, Podin was shocked. Podin was terrified. Podin's legs and hands were shaking. He immediately stopped his footsteps. Because all of a sudden, the little girl had already removed her head with both of her hands holding that head. Then the small hand showed his head that had been detached from his body, which seemed to feel light which was only held with two small hands, then brought closer to Podin. It was as if the hand was about to give the head held to Podin.

"Rpa .... Look at this, Mr .... What is my head, Mr ....?" the little girl groaned, with her little hands carrying her own head that had been separated from her body.

Podin. He no longer dared to step his foot. He even began to retreat from where he stood. Podin was really scared. When Podin retreated, the little girl stepped forward with her hand on her head, which was handed over to him. The head that had been detached from his body, the head that was held with two small hands, as if it would be given to Podin.

"Rpa .... Help me, Mr .... What is my head, sir ...? Mr .... My head is off my neck, sir .... My head was no longer one with my body, Sir ..." groaning, and showing the head in his grasp, the little boy continued forward to approach Podin.

Frightened Podin, he continued to step back. But because of his growing fear, Podin became groggy. And suddenly he strayed, falling backwards. Podin could not do anything more, because he had already fallen on his back. By watching the child holding his head, who continued to step forward towards him, and indeed the child seemed to give his head to Podin, it was as if the boy was willing to hold Podin accountable for his head being detached from his body.

Just a step away, the boy was able to reach out to Podin.

"This, Mr .... What is my head, Mr ...???" again, the little girl groaned to ask Podin about the state of his head.

Podin can't move anymore. He could only move his legs, but he could not walk. The foot was as if it was just pushing against the ground it was stepping on. His hand was also unable to move, as if it was just gripping the ground where he fell. Meanwhile, the little woman carrying the head was almost to where Podin fell. It was so close, almost touching.

Podin began to see blood droplets from the neck of the head held by the small hands. Yeah, correct. It's a drop of blood. Blood that kept dripping from the neck piece, now began to hit the legs of Podin. Of course, Podin was very scared, he also screamed for help.

"Please ........!!! Help ........!!! Help ........!!! Aih .... Ach .... Aught .... Please ........!!!"  Podin shouted loudly, screaming for help. Of course because he was so scared. The little girl was about to drop her head on Podin's chest.

"Mas .... Wakeup ...! Mr. Podin .... Wakeup ...!" Rina wakes her delirious husband.

"Huh ...?! Please .... I'm scared .... No ...!" Podin was still confused, and terrified.

"Mas Podin .... Wakeup ...! Don't be delirious, Mas ...!" Rina again shook the body of Podin, waking her husband who was still delirious.

"Huh ...?! I'm okay ...?" Podin began to wake up.

"Mas Podin was delirious .." said Rina who could resuscitate her husband.

"I'm okay, yeah ...? I'm still alive, yeah ...?" asked Podin who was certainly still confused and still afraid of being chased by the boy who asked for accountability for his head which was beheaded by Podin.

"Oh my goodness, Mr. Podin .... Hence ..., if the sun goes down it does not sleep, Mas .... Pamphai .... Yes this is the result of people sleeping when the sun goes down .... The night watchman .... Arrived demit, memedi, gendoruwo .... Delirious to the point of yelling like that .., the neighbor heard everything." said Rina who woke him up. Luckily his wife came home early.

Podin woke up from his sleep, then sat on the edge of the bed. His gaze was still imagined with the little girl who came to him in his dream earlier. He thought about what the meaning of the dream was.

"This ..., drink first .... Let it be ..." said Rina, who had given him a glass of cold water she had taken from the refrigerator.

Podin immediately received the glass, and the water of one glass was drunk until it ran out. Fresh taste. His throat was also relieved. The hull was also calm, after being filled with cold water. His mind was comfortable too.

"What dream, Mom ...? How to scream like that .... Scary people ..." asked the curious Rina.

"There's ghosts .... I was chased by ghosts ..." replied Podin who was still confused by his dream earlier.

"Yes ..., Rina .... Is it a full night?" podin asked his wife.

"Rubber, Mas .... That, the moon just went up .... Round ..., round ..., and big ..." said Rina as her hand pointed out of the house.

Podin got up from his seat on the bed. Then he went out. Look to the eastern sky. And yes, Podin witnessed a new full moon at a height. And as he had witnessed in his dream earlier, the full moon this time, was red, as if it was covered in blood. Podin was watching the red moon.

"What's up, Mom?" asked Rina who was coming to the front door.

"That moon is red, yes .." said Podin who was also standing by the door, looking at the full moon that still looks big.

"That's Blood Moon, Mas Podin .." said Rina.

"Blood Moon ...? What is ...?" podin asked his wife.

"Blood Moon is a moon phenomenon that looks red like blood" explained Rina, who may also hear the information from people who eat at Bu Hendro's stall.

"Why can it happen like that, yeah ...?" ask Podin, who does not understand such things. Understandably, Podin is just a village person, who is only a graduate of Elementary School, and never gets along with smart people. It's just that he became an impromptu rich man. It looks like an intellectual ass. I don't understand any science at all. His style claimed to be a technician, but did not know any equipment problems. He used to be just a building porters, and still gets the title of lazy.

"Waduh ..., don't know, Mas .... She said, this will be a lunar eclipse" Rina told her husband.

    "Moon eclipse ...?" ask Podin.

"Yes .... Later, at midnight .... That's the word of the news broadcast on TV ..." said Rina.

Podin. He was still watching the red moon. In his mind, he thought, is this really a sign that the blood flowing in the stone range, where the sacrificial offering was dripping wet the moon? Is it true that the red moon is a sign that there will be blood stopping on the offering stone, because there will be an eclipse tonight? Or even in the palace of Pulau Berhala there is no offering party, because the full moon will be dark during the eclipse? Podin. Surely he also wanted to know the secret behind the blood red moon.

"Mas ..., let's eat first .... This was given the same vegetable side dish by Ms. Hendro ..." said Rina who invited her husband to eat.

"Yes, Rin .., briefly ..." said Podin who was still looking at the full moon that looks strange.

"Later to go to work ..." said Rina reminded.

"I'll be home, Rin .... I will not go to work .... My body is a bit bad" said the reasoned Podin. What a job, people during this time Podin also does not work.

"That ...?! Pain, yes ...? I bought medicine, yes .." said Rina who was certainly very attentive with her husband.

"No need .... I just want to rest ..." replied Podin.

"Yes ..., here come in. Don't just go outside .... Later more sick ..." said Rina who certainly told her husband to come in immediately.

    "Yes ..." - Podin.

Podin was about to move in, as he once again stared at the red moon. But how shocked Podin, when he was about to step in, suddenly his eyes looked at the figure of a little girl wearing a shabby skirt, standing in front of the entrance of his rented house. Podin was snapped for a moment. Shocked and scared. Yes, the boy he saw was the child who was sacrificed on the offering stone in the palace of Pulau Berhala.

Podin immediately jumped into the house, and immediately closed the door. His breath was wheezing, out of fear.

"What else is it, Mas ...?" ask Rina.

"It's okay .... I'll ask for a scout, yeah .... Let the wind go." replied Podin who was trembling and immediately sat face to face with his wife, who was preparing to eat.

"Yes .... So if that night's work wear a jacket .... Let's not make the wind." said Rina.

"Yes, Rin .." said Podin who was actually frightened to see the ghost of the little girl who met him in front of the house.

The red moon that night, witnessed the arrival of the boy who was sacrificed by Podin on the offering stone in the palace of Pulau Berhala.
