Combat Emperor: Zhang Yu's Journey

Combat Emperor: Zhang Yu's Journey
Chapters... 78: Secrets in the Pendant

Zhang Yu had already been in his teacher's residence for quite a long time. They spoke of many things especially about the events in the palace.

Hearing so many times did not bore Wang Chen. He asked in more detail forcing Zhang Yu to tell him everything.

Only after the sky gradually darkened did the old man stop urging Zhang Yu to tell a story. He took out a brown scroll and thrust it at Zhang Yu.

"Get it," he said.

Zhang Yu looked at the scroll and watched it closely.

The awaited gift finally arrived. After getting permission he hurried to pull the end of the rope open the scroll.

How surprised he was when he found out the gift from the teacher turned out to be a fighting technique.

Zhang Yu watched carefully, the smile on his thin lips increasingly heralding the eye movement of reading sentence by sentence there.

Certainly not a cheap technique. His name was a northern sword technique that consisted of only five basic moves.

Even so Zhang Yu was able to confirm these five basic moves if combined very, very terrifyingly.

Zhang Yu immediately kept the scroll and bowed his body slightly. "Thank you for your gift, Master. I'll try to master it as soon as possible."

Wang Chen laughed softly then waved to Zhang Yu. "Well, you can come back."

Zhang Yu saluted then left the teacher who was still sitting in the gazebo. The old man's gaze looked deep and calm.

"It used to be that while I was practicing the northern sword technique, it took me five months to start understanding it and another five months to truly master it. I wonder how long it will take Zhang Yu to master the northern sword technique."

...

On the other hand Zhang Yu had already arrived at his residence. Wu Zetian wasn't inside, either he went where but it wasn't a priority to think about.

Zhang Yu took out a resource crystal then gave it to Sun. The little monkey was so happy that he pranced undisturbed. He took it with his tiny hand and jumped into the corner of the room to eat it.

One second later her furry little body was enveloped in a golden light. He was already in cultivation mode.

Zhang Yu smiled faintly, his hand reached into the gift technique scroll from the teacher then started to read it slowly.

Northern sword techniques ....

Unconsciously time passed quickly. Zhang Yu who was so focused on deepening the northern sword technique did not know if the night had changed by morning.

Wu Zetian had just returned from the dragon stage. Looks tired and exhausted. He opened the door intending to rest, but seeing the figure sitting on top of the bed by holding onto a sheet made him subconsciously hold back a step.

"Zhang Yu's? When's he coming back?" Wu Zetian wanted to get closer then asked. But he pared it off seeing the busy and so focused Zhang Yu.

"I'd better get some sleep" he said. Wu Zetian stepped onto his bed then broke down and immediately closed his eyes.

...

One month later.

Wu Zetian woke up early as usual. He looked to Zhang Yu's place but this friend of his was still loyal in his position.

But he was not surprised one bit. For a cultivator learning a fighting technique was not as easy as turning a palm. Even ordinary techniques take several months to understand, then one to two years to master them.

Wu Zetian guessed Zhang Yu also needed the same time. At least he will remain in that position for the next few months.

Fifteen minutes passed and Wu Zetian came out with a fresh face. But one thing that made his face look confused, he did not see Zhang Yu on his bed.

Uh...

"Where is he? Wasn't it a while ago still sitting there?"

Right along with that one voice came from behind. "Are you looking for something?"

Two eyebrows fused together. Wu Zetian slowly twisted his body and found Zhang Yu sitting on the chair while eating a packet of dried meat.

"You looking for something?" zhang Yu asked again to see Wu Zetian was silent.

One second later the young master of the Wu family regained his consciousness. He swung his legs at Zhang Yu's place and picked up the dried meat pack in his hand.

"Excession! I'm afraid you've suddenly disappeared but it's delicious to finish my supply of dried meat." Wu Zetian grunted in annoyance and then finished the rest of the meat with a few mouthfuls.

One second, two seconds, the atmosphere became silent. Wu Zetian cleared his throat with a loud voice then asked curiously. "How did your understanding come about? Was it too hard for you to give up?"

Wu Zetian thought Zhang Yu ended the comprehension process faster due to the excessively high difficulty level of the technique.

However, upon seeing Zhang Yu shake his head faintly, his two eyebrows fused together again.

"Not difficult? Then why did you end it sooner?" ask again.

"Who said I ended it sooner?" zhang Yu asked back casually which made Wu Zetian even more confused.

"You didn't end it sooner? Did you understand that? How come! I'm not a layman in this world, you can't lie to me."

"It's your business if you don't believe."

Wu Zetian was stunned. His eyes looked at Zhang Yu looking for lies on his face. But the extremely calm Zhang Yu made Wu Zetian difficult.

"Curtain! You're just bragging. I don't care about this anymore. I better go to the treasure pavilion now." After saying that, he left there.

Zhang Yu flicked his shoulders, getting up from the chair picking up a pack of dried meat to fill his empty stomach.

After returning to his seat he noticed Sun who remained in his position in the corner of the room. Falling asleep with a golden light enveloping his body.

"Does he still stay that way to this day? Usually not this long."

As Zhang Yu was still focusing on Sun, he suddenly recalled about the necklace found in the prime minister's room.

Due to being too excited about learning the northern sword technique he had almost forgotten about it.

"Yes, these two necklaces are the same. Even the intricate carvings were exactly the same." Zhang Yu held the two necklaces with one hand.

When recalling the name of his mother in the heart pendant, Zhang Yu immediately opened the heart pendant in the other necklace.

Slowly but surely Zhang Yu split the middle line on the heart pendant. But not a name like the one on his mother's necklace, but just a blank white paper fold.

It's strange!

Zhang Yu squinted his eyes. His hand pulled the small fold of paper and found some incomplete words.

"Is this a secret message?" There was no other conclusion in Zhang Yu's head because these words were so random. Can't even understand it at all. He felt that understanding the fighting techniques was much easier.
