I went out and would deliver a picture frame containing flowers and beach views to the restaurants and shops around White Water City Beach.
"Hi, Mrs Anjani!" I smiled at the golden-yellow haired lady behind the counter at Gifts Galore, one of my favorite toy jewelry stores. I'm glad to find my job hanging behind the cash register. There are shelves of beach trinkets, jewelry and other artwork. It's a fun place to walk around here.
"Hello, Frog! I know you have a delivery for me!" he smiled and came round the counter, pulling me into a big hug.
"Yes. I hope you can use it."
"Oh, yeah. The job you brought in last week is almost out. You're becoming a pretty popular young artist now."
Bu Anjani began to look at my work, she exclaimed in delight and surprise as well. And I felt proud in my chest when she said that she would take everything I brought to her today.
We chatted at the counter while he wrote down a check for the sale last week and I turned to leave, but then I staggered and fell into a very firm chest.
"Oh, excuse me.." I stepped back and looked up. Oh hell.
"Hello, Fogger." Jis looked down at me, a smile tickling her lips. He looked a little surprised, pleased, and..
Oh myGod.
"Hello, Jis..." My voice sounded sighing again and I shriveled mentally.
Ms. Anjani went back to her shop to check on the customers, leaving Jis and myself. I stared down at my sandals, reminding me I needed a pedicure.
What am I supposed to say?
"So, you're an artist." Jis glanced at my picture frame that was still piled up on the table.
"Yes." Yeah." I followed the glare. "I sold my job at the local store."
She grinned and I felt my instincts being pulled by her.
"What are you doing here? It doesn't look like the kind of shop you visit often."
"I'm looking for a present for my sister for her birthday." He started walking past my bed. "this will be perfect. He just bought a new condo. Which would you suggest?" He glanced back at me and I had no choice but to join him at the table and lean close to him when we saw twenty more photos together.
"Did he prefer flowers or scenery?" my many.
"Er.." He swallowed. Did I have an effect on him? I leaned a little closer to her, as if checking the photo on the table and hearing her breathing.
"Maybe flowers."
"I'm suggesting this." I smiled at myself, enjoyed the closeness now that I did not feel threatened by it, and chose four photos of flowers, all of different types and colors, and arranged them to be seen.
"perfect." Her smile lit up on her face and I couldn't help but smile back. "You're very talented."
Her praise took me a few seconds and I felt my cheeks blush.
"Thank you."
Jis paid Ms. Anjani and then followed me as I left the store towards my car.
"Where's your goal?" He asked when he approached me.
"That was my last delivery, so I'm heading home."
"Or," he said casually, "I have to take you out for coffee."
My stomach is tightening with pleasure. He's still interested! Didn't we? He could be a killer axe. Or worse.
"Happy hour?" continued.
I smiled and turned away from him, still walking towards my car.
"Eat dinner? Can I buy you an ice cream cone?"
She escaped her free hand through her hair of disarray and I mentally hugged myself.
Somewhere public would be safe, so before I could put too much thought into it, I heard myself say, "Let's go have a drink. There's a bar one more block that has a good happy hour."
"Show me the way!" Shit, I have to do whatever it takes to get that grin.
"Don't you want to put a picture of your sister in your car?"
"I walk." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Here, put them in my car." I opened the trunk of my Lexus SUV and pulled the door for him.
"Good car." He said, surprised. His eyebrows rose when he looked at me.
"Thank you," I turned the door lever to close and locked the car back as we continued down the sidewalk.
Jis pulled her sunglasses from the neck of her white T-shirt and used them, looking around making sure no one saw her and I scowled.
Is she ashamed to be seen with me? If so, why did he take me out?
I was still thinking about all this when he held my favorite Pub door open for me and we walked into the cool bar.
"Hi! Welcome to Rainbow."
A young maid smiled at the two of us, paid special attention to Jis, and I mentally rolled my eyes. "A beautiful day out there" she continued, "Do you like sitting inside or outside?"
I looked up at Jis and without pause or asked me what I preferred she said "Inside."
"certain. Follow me, handsome."
He winked at Jis, completely ignoring me, and led us to the booth close to the back of the bar.
We sat down and Miss Genit showed us the happy hour menu that was displayed proudly on the table, smiled broadly at Jis again, and then left us alone.
"Are you ashamed to come out with me?" I decided to discuss this.
Sasuke gasped, took off his glasses, revealed his wide black eyes and looked surprised. The knot in my stomach slowly slipped away.
"No! No Put, no. In fact, I'm happy to spend time with you." He looks very sincere.
"Why are you asking?"
"Alright." I'm grateful to sip the water the waiter put down earlier. "You're just visible…"
"What?"
"Suddenly quiet." That's the best word I can say. Shit, why is he making me so nervous?
"I'm happy to be here, with you. I just.." he rubbed his head, running his hand through that beautiful hair. "I'm a closed man, Put." He exhaled quickly and closed his eyes like he was struggling against some difficult internal debate, and then gave his bright black gaze back to me.
"It's okay," I held my hand in front of me as if giving up. "I'm just checking. No need to worry."
I smiled reassuringly and picked up the happy hour menu before she could say again. The change in his mood and the reason behind it is none of my business. We just went for a drink.
Keep this relaxed.
He smiled at me and I was saved from a small conversation by the Flirty Waiter who took our order.
Jis raised her eyebrows at me. "What do you want?"
"Margarita, on the rock, without salt, with extra limes." My eyebrows rose as the maid's cheeks turned red and the only recognition for my statement was that she crossed out ferociously in her note.
Jis is sexy, I can't blame the waiter for noticing Jis, but something fundamental in me wants to scratch her pretty brown eyes out.
And he's not even mine.
Jis chuckles. "Make two."
"just that? Is there anything else?" she asked Jis, sharply ignoring me, and I smiled to myself as Jis barely glanced at her before muttering, "No, thank you."
"I deserve a margarita after the day I have." I sip my water.
"And what kind of day is that?"
Jis leaned back and I liked that she really seemed interested.
"Well," I sat looking up at the ceiling like I was thinking out loud. "Let's see. Hm.. I couldn't get enough sleep last night, so I decided to walk in the morning to get some work done. At the time, I was almost robbed." I stared back at him and gave a horror satirical look. Jis laughed, burst out, and my stomach clenched down again. Oh, my God, she's so beautiful.
"And then…?"
"And then, I made a very brave self-rescue," I smiled at him and he grinned, his chin resting on his palm. "I went home, had breakfast with my roommate, then took a short nap."
"I'm glad to hear that." His eyes narrowed and I felt myself blushing.
"It's nice to hear me have breakfast with my friend?"
"No, smartass. Good to hear you're sleeping."
"I'm sure it's not that interesting." I thanked the waiter for my drink and I took a long sip. Oh, this is delicious.
"And when did you wake up?"
"You really want to know about my day?"
"Yes, please." Jis took a sip of his drink and I saw his lips pursed on top of the straw. Oh myGod.
"Um.." I cleared my throat and Jis grinned again, enjoying my reaction to her. "I had a photo session during the day, finished around 2. Then I drop off some of my work around the estate and go on a romp with the handsome robber who is currently enjoying a drink with me."
"I like the last part, it's the best."
Oh.
"And what are you doing today, Jis?" ask me and rest my elbow at the table, glad to have turned the attention back to her.
"Continuously, I couldn't sleep well last night either, so I got up early to take a walk and enjoy the beach," he gave a pause to sip his drink.
"Mmm hmm…"
"Then I made myself look stupid by running around on a beautiful woman who's amazingly sexy." I gasped and bit my lips.
Sexy and pretty? Waw.
Jis's eyes narrowed to my lips.
"Did he forgive you for being stupid?" my voice sounds heavy.
"I'm not sure. I hope so."
"Then what are you doing?"
"Read what?" Mmm, I sip my drink. This margarita is delicious.
Jis edikit frowned then shrugged his shoulders. "Just read some work."
"Oh? What's yourjob?" I moved on Miss Teaser to refill my drink, then raised my eyebrows at Jis and gave her a signal to refill on her drink as well and she nodded.
"Why do you want to know?" he whispered this and suddenly looked pale.
What the fuck? Is he really a serial killer? A spy? Is she an unemployed person looking for sugarmama (a rich woman who pays men to come out with her) ?.
I ignored the last thought, he wouldn't be able to possibly live in this housing if he was unemployed.
"Well, now I'm interested." I leaned back. He looks very uncomfortable. I decided to take him out of the grief. "But it's really none of my business. So, you read, and then?"
Jis seemed relaxed, and I was disappointed that she didn't want to tell me what she was doing to survive.
"I also took a nap."
I grinned and looked at him from top to bottom to tease him.
He laughed and it tickled me, made me laugh too.
"Then I went shopping for my brother's birthday gift, and found the perfect thing."
"Oh? And what is it?" I tilted my head to the side enjoying this seductive game, and also took a sip of my delicious drink.
"Well, there's a brilliant local artist who takes beautiful photos, and I'm lucky enough to get the results of his work."
He almost looked proud and it gave me warmth, a sense of happiness that spread.
"That's amazing." I don't know what to say.
"So, you have a photo session today?"
Whoa..changes topics.
"Yes." Yeah." I think I need a margarita again if this conversation is about taking a turn I think. I signal Miss Teaser and without asking order one for her as well.
He raised his eyebrows. "I don't think you're doing portrait photography."
"Why do you think that?" I asked while frowning.
"Because you said so this morning during our unusual meeting."
"Oh, that's right. I don't do regular photographic portraits." I cleared my throat and looked around the bar, took a look from him, and prayed he didn't ask the next question, and grimaced when he asked again.
"What kind of regular photographic portraits do you do?" he looks confused.
I took a deep breath. Damnit.
"Well, varied. It's up to the client." I was nervous again. I don't tell a lot of people about this side of my photography business. I find most people are too judgmental, and honestly it's nobody's business but mine and my client's.
"Look at me." His voice was low and serious, and he was not playing around anymore.
Goddamn bum.
I looked into his eyes, and gulped.
"You can tell me, Put."
Oh, she's very.Sexy. And good. Is that possible?
"Maybe one day I'll tell you. When you tell me what your job is." I smiled cynically and kicked him under the table and his mood automatically lifted.
"So there's gonna be 'one day'?" he emphasized his words.
Oh, I hope so! "If you play your cards."
"A sassy little boy, don't you think?"
"You don't know, Jis."
"I love to learn, Put." And his face was serious again, making me squirm.
"You're a woo."
Jis grinned, wide, beautiful grin. I smiled cynically again, and finished my third drink.
My head started to get dizzy and I knew I had better stop drinking alcohol.
"Drink again," Jis called Miss Teaser, but I shook my head.
"I'd better just drink some water."
"certain. More water for my girlfriend and me, please."
The overly friendly waitress passed away, deliberately shaking her hips, hoping to get attention from Jis, but she looked at me, ignoring her.
"What kind of movies do you like?"
Huh uh? Did he take me to see a movie?
"I don't watch too many movies."
She tilted her beautiful head to the side and looked at me like I had just told her something impossible.
"really?"
"I don't have much time for that."
"Who's your favorite actor?" he smiled, and I felt like it was some kind of test, but I wasn't given a notebook.
"I don't even know who's popular right now." I sat on the counter chair and pursed my lips, thinking about it.
"When I was a teenager I liked Robert Redford." I shrugged my shoulders.
Jis looks like she just got kicked in her stomach and I suddenly feel embarrassed. Then that beautiful face turned into a smile and her soft eyes sucked me into it. "Why? Isn't he too old for you?"
I chuckle. "Yes, but I saw The Way We Were with him and Barbara Streisand when I was fifteen and fell in love with Hubbell. He's like a dream. I didn't pay much attention to the film. There's too much bullshit in there."
Jis laughs. "Omong empty?"
"Yes! If I see a trailer for another stupid vampire movie, I'll kill myself."
He frowned again, looked around the bar and looked back at me, his eyes narrowed and worried.
"What's? What have I said?"
"It's nothing. You're just so unexpected. How oldyou? Twenty-three?"
Why would he want to know my age? "Twenty-five. You you?"
"Twenty-eight."
"So, you're old." I chuckle.
"You have a great laugh." Her eyes sparkled with pleasure and I hugged myself again, forgetting about being nervous and I realized I was very comfortable with her. He's just very easy to talk to.
I looked at my watch and was surprised. We've been sitting here for three hours!
"I have to go." I smiled at him. "We've been here a long time."
"Time passes very quickly when you're with someone beautiful." She leaned back and grabbed my hand and I was caught in her spell now. My eyes were on her lips and she licked them, making me squirm. Before I knew it, she pulled back her hand and I felt frustrated and lost the warmth of her touch.
"So is you." I smiled and took the bond.
"Oh no. That's mine." Jis took the bon from my fingers and took out his wallet.
"I'm happy to pay for my own drinks."
He glared at me, and I was stunned that he looked really angry. Whoa.
"No."
"OKAY. Thank you." Thank you."
His smile returned as he said, "Together."
Jis paid the bill and we headed back to the sidewalk. He was in a hurry to put his glasses back on, and seemed to care about anyone around us. My heart flipped over when he took my hand and we started walking towards my car.
The sun started to set and I looked up at the beautiful beach, the blue water, the boat and the mountain, and also a long look at my camera hanging from my neck. I looked up at Jis and her jaw was tense, she looked down and we walked quickly.
"Hey, slow down." I pulled his hand slightly and deliberately slowed my pace.
"Are you in a hurry to get rid of me?"
"No, it's not like that." He looked around us again, then grinned down at me, slowing down his speed.
"It's going to be an amazing sunset. Want to walk along the water? I promise, there's no camera." I raised my hand to show her that it was empty.
Jis grinned, and then looked around once more, and I followed her gaze. There are many people who enjoy a beautiful day at this beach. Jis shook her head and looked sad for some time.
We stopped in my car and I thought he saw me. It was hard to look into his eyes because of his dark glasses.
"I don't like crowds, Put. It's like a phobia." She shook her head again, ran her hand through that sexy hair and took off my hand, putting her hand on her hip.
"No problem." I regretted it for him and wanted to comfort him.
I never wanted to entertain a man before. I never had any subtle feelings for men. They're just always a fun diversion, or my worst nightmare. Confusing, I found myself reaching out and cupping Jis's face in my palm to calm her down.
"Hey," I said softly. "Don't worry about it, Jis."
He leaned against my touch and took a breath, placed his hand on top of mine, then hooked it up and kissed my knuckles.
Oh myGod.
"Come on," I deliberately interrupted this fun moment, it took a little space, "I'll take you home."
"I don't want to make you walk into the house, carrying a photo of that brilliant genius in the crowd. Come inside."
She blinks sexy, smiles and jumps into the passenger seat.
Oh, Puput, what are you doing?
