"Ann, I don't want to use the money." I hear a whimper in my voice, but I don't care.
"Sweet, he wants to do you a favor. It's your birthday."
We toured along the shopping mall in White Water selling luxury items in downtown White Water. The atmosphere is not too crowded indicating that this time is midweek. Salespeople are very attentive and look forward to making a commission in the middle of the week.
"I feel like a gold digger (a duitan woman's eye)."
Anna laughed as she pulled the blue blouse off the shelf, then directly missed it.
"You're not a gold digger. Here, try this one."
He gave me a black blouse and we continued looking around again.
We went to the spa this morning. We both did facials, massages, pedicures and stabbing, and did a bit of refreshing wax. I have to admit, it feels fantastic. "The spas are enough. That's more than enough, soothing and perfect."
"Put, stop fussing about this. Jis is already incredibly kind and wants us to indulge today. I agree we don't have to be crazy, but make the guys laugh and get some good stuff.
You might need some formal dresses if she wants to take you back like that night. Plus, it's possible you need to go to a movie release or something, sometimes, and you should be able to keep up with the performance."
Also true.
I never realized it. Is he attending the release of the film he is working on right now?
Damnit.
Two hours, and a few thousand dollars later, we left the store, filled with bags and boxes. I can't believe Anna persuaded me to do this.
I'm glad that he also bought a little something for himself. Jis would have agreed.
I bought three evening dresses.
And decent underwear for those dresses, some blouses and jeans, two pairs of shoes - Manolo Blahniks!- and a new Gucci bag.
I might get scared and give it back tomorrow.
Anna also bought a new pair of Louboutins and handbags. She looked beautiful as we left the store and headed to the car. It was at this moment that he looked the happiest since his appointment with his boss, smiling, carefree and relaxed.
Three hours at the spa and two hours at the shopping mall spending someone else's money would definitely make all the girls like that.
We're back home and getting ready for tonight's party. I'm so excited to meet Anna's family and to meet her new niece, little Sofia.
Jis will be here in an hour.
"Are you going to wear that gorgeous new red top with new jeans?" Anna took out Louis Vuitton's handbag from her brown wrapper and stuffed things into it.
"Yeah, I guess so. Handbags are great." Other than shoes, handbags are my weakness, I can't help but admire my new Gucc bag.
"Did I tell you I like your boyfriend?" Anna grinned.
"He was far beyond expectations, that's for sure."
"He really loves you, Put. I could see it written all over him. He just wants you to be happy."
My heart softened at Anna's words. He's correct. And if pampering me is something new to make her happy, why should I protest?
"Have you told your family about it? I don't want them to be a scene today."
"Yeah, already. They have time to themselves to get excited. They'll calm down. I have a brother anyway. They won't care that she's hot."
"Totally so." We smile at each other and go upstairs and dress up for the night.
.
"Hello, pretty." Jis pulled me into his arm and kissed me noisily.
"Hello, handsome." I smiled at him and drove him home.
"Are you ready?" he looks good wearing black jeans and a low-buttoned white shirt that is not included. I put my finger to her soft, black hair.
"Yes." Yeah."
"You look happy." He kissed me on the cheek and hugged me again.
"And pretty wearing this red blouse."
"It's new." I feel my cheeks blush.
"Oh yeah? I like it so much."
"Thank you for everything." I kissed him, cupping his handsome face in my hands.
"Are you happy?"
"We had a great time. You spoiled us today.
Thank you for bringing Anna."
"I like Anna."
"Oh?" I raised my eyebrows.
"He loves you and he's your best friend."
Shit, she's so sweet.
"Oh my God, please don't be like this all night." Anna walked to the porch and rolled her eyeballs.
"Hello for you too." Jis laughed and kissed me on the forehead, then released me from it.
"Thank you for today, Jis. We had a great time, and now I'm the proud owner of this beautiful bag." Anna smiled sweetly.
"That suits you, equally. Let's go?"
I took the camera bag and followed Jis to the car. He raised an eyebrow and looked towards my bag. "Do you think I'd come to a family dinner with a newborn without a camera? I'm a girl, Jis."
He grinned and opened the car door for me.
Jis and I followed Anna who was driving her own car to her parents' house. They live in a new subdivision in North White Water where all the houses look the same, the grass is neat, and the, a small front porch with hanging pots of colorful flowers and children cycling on the side of the road. Their house is average size, with a spacious backyard.
No one knows, not even Montgomery himself, that I was the anonymous donor who paid the mortgage for them earlier this year.
"It's a nice neighborhood." Jis commented and I smiled at him.
"That's. Anna's parents' house. They live alone so the size of the house is right for them. I'm glad it's sunny today we can all sit in the backyard. His father took good care of the yard. You're gonna love it."
We headed out to the house and Anna's mother, Gisel, ran out to greet us.
"Oh, my daughter is home! Hello dear." He hugged me with both arms and I felt tears splashing in my eyes. This woman is very special to me.
He pulled his body back and looked at me, his hand still clasping my shoulder.
"You look beautiful, baby. Happy birthday."
"Thank you, Mom. This is my boyfriend, Jis."
"Mrs. Montgomery." Jis extended her hand, but she also hugged him warmly.
"It's so nice to meet you, Jis. Please call me Gisel, welcome."
She smiled a little shyly.
"Thank you"
"Hi, Mom." Anna hugged her mother very tightly.
"Everything is here. We're in the backyard. Your dad's grilling, and I hope he doesn't burn this house down."
Jis took my hand and we explored the house filled with beautiful furniture, as it passed through the artistic part of the kitchen. I smiled looking at Jis holding her breath.
"I told you" I whispered to him.
The backyard overlooks the greenbelt (the rural land that surrounds the city), so there are no neighbors behind the house. The yard is not up to an acre (0.46 acres). Beautiful bush plants become a private fence that surrounds the yard. There is a stone road bounded by solar lights leading to another park. The festivity is characterized by a variety of flower colors, red and yellow, purple, pink. Some parks have a small seat on their side as a place to sit and enjoy the day.
There are also fruit trees for shade. Steven Montgomery spent countless hours in this garden, and the results are clearly visible.
The grounds are also broad and organized.
There was a stainless steel grill some distance away in the left corner of the yard, with smoke billowing. In the yard there are two round tables, each surrounded by six chairs, and on the right side is a sitting area with two loveseats (seats for both).
"I can spend the whole day here," Jis whispered and I nodded.
I looked at the table and found two familiar people, but I had not expected it before and I turned towards Jis. "Your parents are here!"
He slightly blushed and shrugged his shoulders. "Anna asked me if she could invite them, and I thought it would be a good idea. I want our parents to know each other, Put."
"Wow." I can't say anything. He never stopped giving me surprises.
"Is it okay?"
Is it okay? L loved her. Her parents are fun, and yes, I want them to get to know my family. Anna's family is the only family I have.
"It's good." He smiled, relieved, and kissed my hand.
I took Jis to the table and started introducing her to Anna's extended family, hugging Susi and Chandra.
"It's so nice to meet you, baby."
Lusi hugged me very tightly and I reciprocated.
"Thank you for coming. I'm so happy to see you both."
Anna's father turned away from her grill and walked towards me."Come here, birthday girl!"
She hugged me very warmly, lifted me up and spun twice.
"You're too skinny. I'm gonna make you fat today."
I laughed and kissed her soft cheeks.
He's a short guy, but he's as muscular as his son, his head is bald, but he used to be blond as his daughter. He's one of the nicest men I've ever met.
"I'm so impatient. I'm hungry."
"good. Is this your girlfriend?" he looked towards Jis and extended his hand.
"Yes, it's Jis."
"Aren't you a movie star?" Oh, dearGod. He'll make Jis trouble. A moment of silence as everyone stopped the conversation to listen.
My face flushed red and was about to start interrupting, but Jis held my elbow and smiled at me before shaking Steven's hand steadily.
"Not sir, I'm not an artist or a star. Thank you for inviting me and my family today."
"Do I need to make calculations with you if I hurt her?" Steven clasped Jis's hand, narrowed his eyes at Jis, and I felt like I wanted to die. Nowow.
Damnit.
Jis laughs. "No Sir. May I help you grill?"
"You know how to bake?"
Steven smiled and took a deep breath.
"I know."
"Why not say? We're cooking ribs and chicken." Steven patted Jis on the shoulder and took her to the grill.
Anna's brother came to introduce himself to Jis and offered her a beer and chatted.
Isaac's wife, Sinta, hugged me tightly.
"Happy birthday." She was a small woman with red hair and bright blue eyes.
"thank you. You look fantastic! Where's the baby." My eyes looked around the grounds until I saw Sofia curled up in the arms of Anna sitting in comfortable loveseats.
Sinta and I joined her and I stretched out both my hands.
"Baby."
Anna laughs. "I just carried it."
"I don't care. I never carried her. Give him to me, Montgomery."
I stroked her cheeks and kissed her forehead. He fell asleep, unaffected by the party going on around him.
"Oh, Sinta, I'm in love with her." I smiled at the new mother and she was proud.
"He's a beautiful baby."
"She's so beautiful." I looked at her again and moved her so that she leaned against my chest, coiling under my chin. I stroked his back and began to pet him and hum.
Nothing is as good as holding a newborn baby.
"You're so sweet." I whispered to baby Sofia.
As I raised my eyes I met Jis' intense gaze.
He looked at me, his eyes unpredictable.
What's he thinking?
I smiled at him and one corner of his lips curved upwards and his eyes softened.
I turned my head to the left and found Jis' mother, Lusi also looked at me thoughtfully. A slow smile spread across his face and he winked at me.
Sofia let out a muttering voice and looked back at him. I took the pacifier and drank it into her mouth and she sucked tight, I stroked her soft hair with the tip of my finger.
"Snake!"
"Huh?"
Anna laughs. "I asked if you had a camera with you."
"certain. I brought the latest model. Maybe we could take a family picture after dinner?"
"of course. Now give me the baby back."
"No way."
"You're so selfish." Anna pouted at me and Sinta laughed.
"Yes. Sofia and I are going for a walk." I stood holding her and walked down one of the paths leading to a shady garden.
"It's pretty, isn't it, Sofia?" I sang to the sleeping baby and swung it forward and backward.
"You're good at babysitting." Jis came and joined us and I smiled lazily at him.
"I like babies. I never had a brother, so I was close to Anna and her family."
I shrugged and kissed Sofia on the head.
Jis stroked Sofia's cheeks with the back of her finger and my heart was pounding. Her fingers look so big on Sofia's tiny cheeks.
"He's sweet, '" She whispered.
"You're sweet too." He slipped a strand of my hair behind my ear and defended me to the chin with his thumb before slipping the hand back into his pocket.
I looked at this sleeping baby and for the first time I imagined that one day I would have a baby too. Husband and baby, when imagining this in my head, was this man who would be by my side.
I'm too happy. Stop this. Get rid of this thought about the baby.
"Hey! Dinner's ready and I want the baby back!" Anna was standing on the edge of the yard yelling at us, and I smiled at Jis.
"I'll have to wrestle with her later to get this baby back."
Jis laughed and drove us to the grounds for dinner.
.
This is the best birthday of my life. The Montgomery family welcomes the Jis family within their family well, engages them with pleasant chats and greatly enjoys their friendship. Chandra and Lusi look relaxed and happy, laughing at Steven and Gisel, sharing a story about their child's childhood.
The brothers Anna Isaac, William, Dony and Matt tease Jis mercilessly about becoming a famous actor, asking about a beautiful artist, talk about a lot of things about football because William is now playing for the Seahawks, and so are the men.
What's up with the boys and the football?
Jis laughed more than I ever saw, and I felt more in love with her when I saw her with my family. He was very attentive to me, pouring my drink, holding my hand and being around me all night.
I thought I'd feel more depressed by something else, but she made me feel loved.
Because he loves me.
Baby Sofia has been moving around all night, and now she's lying quietly in Lusi's arms. Lusi.
"Having grandchildren is the best, right?" Gisel smiled gently at his grandson.
"We don't have any grandchildren yet, but I can't wait to have them."
Lusi smirked at Gisel and turned to Jis and he squirmed in his chair.
I couldn't help but laugh to see Jis.
"Are you laughing at me, honey?" Jis narrowed her eyes at me but I saw humor in her gaze.
"Yes, that's funny."
"Ok, time for cake!" Anna came out of the house carrying a beautiful chocolate cake with twenty-six candles burning on it.
"You're gonna burn this house down with that, Ann."
He grinned and put it in front of me.
"Make a wish" Jis whispered in my ear.
I blew all those candles in one blow.
Gisel cut the cake and distributed it. It smells so good. Gisel makes the most delicious cake.
"Thank you for making my favorite cake, ma'am." I leaned in to kiss Gisel's cheek.
"Together, darling. I love you."
"I love you, too."
"Ok, now the gift!" Anna stood up and I frowned.
"No need to give gifts. How many times do I have to tell you, don't give gifts!"
Everyone's laughing at me.
"We didn't hear you." Isaac grinned at me and I widened my eyes at him.
"I don't like you."
"You love me."
"You've done a lot for me." I looked at Jis anxiously. "That embarrassed me when you bought me stuff."
"It's not your birthday unless you get a present." Anna put a beautiful red gift box in front of me. "Open mine first."
He hoped that while sitting in his chair with enthusiasm and my mood so up.
He bought me my favorite perfume and a beautiful silver bracelet.
"Oh, thank you! I like it!"
"Can I borrow it?" we all laughed and we relaxed again, enjoying my family.
As usual, they are a little too much. The brothers gave cards as gifts.
"Shop again!" Anna and I cried out together and we were all giggling.
Jis laughed next to me and kissed my temple and I smiled shyly at him.
Lusi and Chandra kindly gave me a gift card to use at the Microsoft store in Bellevue. Waw.
"Thank you very much."
"By pleasure, dear." Lusi smiled and kissed Sofia's petite head.
"We're next." Gisel gave me a gift box with purple paper.
"This party is more than enough!"
"You can't resist us," Steven shook his finger and tried to look hard, but I wasn't scared and I chuckled.
"I'll get you on your knees."
"Ready, sir." I opened the bag and found a pair of earrings that I recognized and I held my breath, looking towards them.
They both smiled gently at me.
"It's yours." I saw a pair of diamond earrings that were water droplets and caressed them with my fingers. The earrings had already been cleaned and glistened in the dimness of the night.
"We want you to have it" Gisel shed tears and I also started crying.
"It's your mother's, it's supposed to be for Anna." My voice is heavy with tears.
"I have a lot of jewelry. This is for you. Nana loves you."
Anna stroked my hair and I knew if I moved I would cry.
I was so overwhelmed with love by this family.
I shook my head, and ran away leaving the chair around the table to hug Gisel and Steven tightly. Gisel wiped his eyes and Steven cupped my face in his hands and smirked at me.
"We love you, baby girl."
"I love you too. Thank you." Thank you."
I sat back down and looked at Jis' handsome face.
He smiled and kissed my finger.
"The last one." Jis gave me a manila envelope.
"No, honey, you've given me too much." I shook my head and turned to the table to face him.
"Open up" he said, exasperated and pushing the envelope back on me.
"Open it!" William shouted from across the table and I widened my eyes at him.
"I can't wait for all this tension!"
We all laughed and I opened the envelope.
I pulled two passports and a itinerary. I read the itinerary and felt my face turn white and my mouth open.
"We're going to Golden Cove?!"
Everyone at the table was excited with wow and whistles and screams of pleasure. The brothers clapped their hands, gave Jis a tribute and he laughed.
"Yes, tomorrow, for a week."
"But we have to work."
"My present project has just finished, and I hope you'll reschedule your appointment." He looked at me with love emanating from his blue eyes.
"Wow. Golden Cove?"
He laughed and kissed me, directly on the lips, in front of my whole family.
"Search for rooms!" Matt yelling.
I cleared my throat and looked towards everyone in the yard. "I just wanted to say," the corner of my eye began to shed tears.
"All the people I love most in this world are here, and I can't express how grateful I am for having you. Thank you for everything you have done for me, not just for these gifts. I feel blessed. Even the guys have a wonderful moment."
I smiled at them and they saluted me with drinks and the blink of their eyes.
I took a deep breath. "Thank you for making me part of your family. I love you guys so much."
I looked at Jis and every face I loved so much.
"Now, give the baby to me."
