Doppelganger: Detective Frans' Adventure

Doppelganger: Detective Frans' Adventure
From me to you, Frans!

“In this world nothing is impossible, neither is it in the world of detectives. Everything could have happened. I have read a lot of stories with the genre of detective fiction such as the story of Dupin by Edgar Allan Poe whose story style is mystical. The story of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is full of big events, not infrequently makes me frown to explore the meaning of the story presented. Not to forget also the amazing stories by Agatha Cristie that are so legendary. Success made me spend sheet by sheet of his work.”

“True, Frans. A good mystery story in my opinion is a story that can make the reader think even second-guessing to make his own speculation. Essentially, a mystery should raise questions. I feel happy if any of the readers reading my writing make their own conclusions. I don't feel rivaled or she wants to get ahead of the story I've made, that's my opinion. That's why detective stories always have their own place in the hearts of their fans. Detective works written by Indonesian writers are also no less great. Just like when I used to love watching Detective Conan and following the manga or comics. When I was in my teens, I really traced the birth stories of the character named Edogawa Conan.”

“Tracing? Can you explain?” Frans chewed his bread while looking at me.

“I had bought a work from Edogawa Rampo entitled Mirror of Hell and completed all the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It turns out that Aoyama Ghoso the mangaka of Detective Conan created the character of Conan from a combination of the two legendary authors' names. The character Edogawa Conan is taken from the name of the great writer, Edogawa Rampo or often dubbed the Father of Japanese Mystery Stories and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle author Sherlock Holmes. Aoyama Ghoso combined the names of the two great writers so that he was born into his character named Edogawa Conan or often called Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan).”

Frans mangosteen then sipped his orange ice. Many stories have their own value from the detective world. Frans is different from me. He did follow the story of Holmes' adventures, and so on, but he really liked the story of an absurd agent named Johny English. MI7 is played by Rowan Atkinson. Maybe his silly behavior did indeed decrease to him a little. Rowan Sebastian Atkinson also plays a legendary character named Mr. Beans. The film is also synonymous with bad behavior.

“Why did you decide to write a book too? Isn't it promising at all—again this country not many people want to read.” Chirps Frans.

“I only write for therapy and as entertainment—not the money that is my goal, Frans. I write for myself. I have always loved stories from writers who are able to present weighty stories. Some may be confused by my rigid writing style. Because my qibla is a work from the west. From the translation books that I think are very straightforward in composing the sentence. Not lebih also not impressed too high, meaning easy to digest.”

When I decided to write the story I was living with Frans, I actually turned into an editor at a newspaper company. Now there is no more Helena acting with a stupid detective named Frans. There was only Helena who was always busy staring at the computer screen, her fingers dancing on the keyboard, occasionally sipping cold coffee. Although I often fantasize if I want to be like Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, a very legendary fictional character by Agata Cristhie.

In the life I've lived so far. My experience with Frans was the most impressive. I present this to you, Frans. When I started I decided to record all my travels with him. I collect mystery books from various authors.

“Oh. Good thing, I can't interfere with your passions and decisions. By the way, what book did you last read as a reference?”

“Last I read Ruth Ware's The Woman In Cabin 10. I really wanted to explore the story I was working on so as not to disappoint the reader. Ruth Ware's work is truly beautiful, filled with scenes and surprises that make me forget the time when reading it. No less interesting, the work of Dan Brown also influenced my writing style. His book, Da Vinci Code, made my eyes ache. Plus his work has also been adapted to the big screen and I watched it as if I was reluctant to blink for maybe a second. Although Ruth Ware's work is fairly new and referred to as a modern detective story. However, I admit that his work is able to grab my attention which incidentally prefers classical works. The classics I love most apart from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are Edgar Allan Poe's Black Cat and The Raven, which brought me into the dark world he told me about. The classic story is very fascinating to me, because the style of writing, language, and story is able to make my brain feel melted.”

“Not the books in your room are also mostly storybooks from the past. You're older than me. It's not my intention to deify classics like Sherlock Holmes and Black Cat, but it's because it's an intake I really need. What else is the masterpiece of Agatha Cristhie that sells hard and dominates the market. Many of his works are presented chronologically. But I will write my story in my own style.”

“A story with your own writing style? What kind of story—I mean what kind of story are you going to write?”

“Our travel stories in handling cases so far, Frans.”

“Why not just write a romantic story, after all many will read such a story rather than a heavy story that drains the brain when reading it,” Frans chirped.

“I told you I would write what I like and according to my own style,” I sewot.”

This time my story with Frans came to the hardest time. Back to the last story, where Frans insisted on coming home from the hospital immediately. His leg was shot and ripped his muscle. Coupled with the event of stone throwing by unknown people. Although the person's face is already known through a facial sketch made by Jason's police. But Frans was not sure if anyone had such a face. Though ugly like that he is also a creation of God, Frans! He plainly said that the person in the sketch had a mustache like a catfish whisker.

Luckily, Jason's police officer smiled and took it as a compliment. Although he had already explained with all his energy, that the person he projected into a face sketch was indeed like that. The man in the sketch had a sharp nose with very thick eyebrows hanging over his eyes. He has a thin brew that grows neatly. It's just that his mustache is a little strange with the shape of a round face I think it does not fit him using a model mustache like a catfish.
