DRAGON DIVISION [Dragon Division]
Chapter 39: The Teacher Comes from the Ordinary

– Crime Department, Drug Squad –

The man who was stopped by Xu Cheng while he was driving under the influence of cocaine was currently being held in an interrogation room. In front of him sat the calm and beautiful Ran Jing, who had a serious expression on her face.

“The level of substances in your body has exceeded the limit, so work with us. Where did you get your stuff? We identified you as part of the East Gate; are you involved in smuggling and drug trafficking? If you confess honestly, we will consider it and lower your penalty.”

The drug user in front of him grinned and smiled, “Hai Officer Ran, you don't have to scare me. I know the law. I'm here just because I used drugs, and I wasn't caught selling or producing them to anyone else, so could it be that you would still give me the death penalty? Don't be like this, I know you guys have been watching me for a long time, but I'm not stupid.”

Ran Jing saw how fearless he was, and his pink fist smashed into the table.

“Do you believe that you can be accepted for life?” Ran Jing threatened.

The drug user snorted, “Are you threatening me? I've got a lawyer, you know? I will probably only be jailed for at most a year or two and then I will come out, I don't really care.”

After speaking, the drug user immediately stood up and exited the interrogation room.

Ran Jing gritted her teeth as she stood there. Not long after, his deputy came and said, “Now that the black community already knows the law, they do not easily feel afraid anymore.”

Ran Jing sneered and did not say anything.

Just then, his superior came in and patted him on the shoulder. “Simmer, no need to rush. We didn't move you to take care of the East Gate at once. It will be difficult to deal with a fish of this size, so we have to do it step by step.

Ran Jing nodded and immediately said to his representative, “Don't let this person go or he might give a warning to his accomplice. Before the East Gate smuggling case was settled, he stayed here.”

Vice Captain: “Understanding.”

Ran Jing continued to ask, “Oh right, at the location of the arrest, you mentioned that it was the fellow from the other department who saved the children and caught the person. Do you know who he is?”

“I think it is a colleague from Riverside police station, his name is Xu Cheng.”

"Him?"

Vice Captain: “Kap, you know him?”

Recognize her? I even roomed with him... Ran Jing muttered in his heart.

“Yes, it looks like I've met him before.”

“Cap, did you watch the surveillance footage we took from the scene?” The vice-captain was a little interested as he passed it on to Ran Jing.

“What can be seen?” Ran Jing said carelessly.

“All the other colleagues found it even more shocking and strange when they saw it,” the vice-captain sighed and said.

"Any?" Ran Jing blinked a few times and said curiously, “Let's go, let me check it out.”

The vice-captain then took Ran Jing to an office and said to a colleague, “Show the strange clip to Captain.”

One of the colleagues who worked on the file immediately opened the video file and played it.

Ran Jing saw surveillance video at a crossroads. The sedan car of the drug user turned a sharp turn when he broke through a red light and was about to hit a group of SD students who were crossing the pavement. Later in the video, Xu Cheng pushes his motorcycle, runs, and picks up two children who are about to be hit by a car.

“Isn't this all normal?” Ran Jing asked, a little confused.

The clerk operating the mouse replayed the video and then pressed the pause button before anything happened. Then, he explained, “Cap, take a good look here. The car was about 10 meters away from the children, and police officers were 20 meters away. At a distance that is almost double, under normal circumstances, if the car suddenly turns sharply, how many people can react in time? Even if they could, how many people could outrun a car at nearly double the speed and save the children before it hit them? This officer is about 20 meters away!”

Because of this, officers replay the entire video with a parsing video processor, starting from the beginning of the action section.

“This looks if we slow as much as 20 times, try to see again Cap.”

Ran Jing watched the video, and the officer analyzing the footage pointed at Xu Cheng and said, “See his legs. Usually, when the video is slowed 20 times, any quick movement can be clearly visible to the naked eye, without blurring. But, Cap, look, everyone, including the wheels of a moving car, can be clearly seen, but this guy's legs, whenever I stop the frame, the image I capture is still blurred.”

Ran Jing's eyes narrowed. "Why is that?"

The officer analyzed, “I can only say that slowing down the recording by 20 times is not enough to clearly capture the fast pace. In other words, within a second, he could make at least 7 to 9 steps.”

Ran Jing: “Is it possible?”

Officer: “Nothing is impossible. We went to check the scene, and other colleagues even tried to simulate the situation to try to match its speed. It was physically impossible to crash and save the children in just two seconds. Based on the footage, the car was about to hit the children within 3 seconds, but officers only used two seconds to get the children to safety. This video is really creepy, and all we can say is that it's really weird. There's an old saying that master comes from ordinary people, I think our little patrolman here is really hiding his ability.”

Ran Jing's eyes lost focus after seeing the video.

At home, Xu Cheng could not take a good nap.

It was because Shen Yao often came to knock on his door. Finally, Xu Cheng woke up completely and opened the door. Looking at the woman standing outside her door, she interrogated, “Are you done?”

He just laughed and said, “Tell me how you won all the rounds last night and I'm not going to ask you to return that 200 thousand yuan.”

Xu Cheng just told him straightforwardly, “How else? Just luck.”

Who do you expect to be deceived? Shen Yao snorted, putting on the expression 'I am not a three-year-old' and said as she observed Xu Cheng from top to bottom, “I am sure you are a professional gambler in the past.”

Xu Cheng looked at him and asked, “Are you not going to stop until I give you the answer?”

“I am someone who is very curious about everything; if you don't give me the answer, then I just want to find out more,” Shen Yao said firmly. Her words are very clear – if you don't tell me, don't expect to be able to sleep.

Xu Cheng took a deep breath, then he looked at Shen Yao with a face full of seriousness and said, “True, I am the god of gambling. My ears can hear everything, even your heartbeat, and my eyes can see through your eyes and look into your soul.”

Shen Yao became a little agitated, “I am talking to you very seriously.”

Xu Cheng replied, “I'm serious too. In the last three seconds, your heart beats 5 times.”

Shen Yao was stunned for a moment, then she hesitated and looked at Xu Cheng, who did not seem like a gambling god but a god of nonsense. “Haha, really? Then look me in the eye and tell me what you saw.”

Xu Cheng looked at Shen Yao deeply and seriously, both of them staring at each other for a full ten seconds. Then, he slowly said, “There is eye booger.”

"Go to hell!" Shen Yao slapped Xu Cheng's arm, and as he prepared to turn around and leave, Xu Cheng said, “For those 10 seconds, your heart rate increased and thumped 25 times, which means, ''For that 'long, you become nervous.”

“You can keep talking nonsense.” Then, with her back facing Xu Cheng, she blushed and said without turning around, “Women's hearts naturally beat more often than men. The man who can make my heart beat fast is not even born yet, huh!”

Then, he left as if he was trying to escape.
