Falling in Love In An Overnight

Falling in Love In An Overnight
Chapter 26

Bella held back her emotions as she recalled the words from Fred, her emotions heading straight for the crown of her brain. How could he lose to Diana? Other than her family background, education, and beauty, everything could be pitted against! But why was it that when Diana came, she wasn't even considered important anymore? After all, Fred was a senior in the same university department, but still he lost to a newly arrived woman. Bella gets more emotional and holds the paper in her hand. Without a second thought, he walked into Diana's room and directly pushed the door without knocking.

Diana was sitting in her chair looking at her apology letter. Hearing the sound, he quickly looked forward and Bella was already standing there. Diana hesitated for a moment before asking, "Secretary Bella, is there any business?".

Bella looked very angry and with high heels stepped in front of Diana's desk and slapped the announcement document onto it. Diana was suddenly startled and immediately stood up after seeing the announcement. As she watched for a moment the large writing on it that contained the schedule of Fiesta's official itinerary, Diana immediately realized what was happening.

Before Diana could answer, Bella immediately asked, "Diana, you are great! Coming to Pratama Jaya Group not yet a week, already can make Mr Fred take you to go on a business trip! On what basis!?"

Diana did not expect Bella's reaction to be that big. He took a deep breath and did not want to magnify the matter gently explaining, "Perhaps because Mr. Fred saw me who had just come, wanted to take me to a lot of study, which is why I left. And also, Secretary Bella, you're more experienced and know a lot of things to handle, so when Mr. Fred goes on a business trip, and leaves you at the office, he doesn't have to worry either."

Diana did not seem to be angry at all and her words sounded good in the ears. This made Bella, whose emotions had already exploded earlier, suddenly speechless and a little calm. Instantly, Bella looked at the woman in front of her and suddenly realized the difference with Diana. Diana, when she first came to the Pratama Jaya Group, did not care how she made things difficult for her, and had never been angry until now. He can hold his emotions well and meekly explain everything. Bella finally realized the meaning of Fred's words. Such a character, such education, and an invisible charm, were etched into Diana's bones and blood. Other people can feel it but it is certainly impossible to learn in a day and night.

Bella returns to her own room with feelings of inferiority and sadness mixed into one. The more he thought, the more his sadness deepened. Why was he born into an ordinary life while someone was born into a family so warm, his life and career so smooth? Bella finally understands Fred's remarks and also realizes that, even though the Tanoe family has gone bankrupt, Diana is not her enemy. Bella bit her lips and squeezed the announcement paper hard then threw it on the floor. He no longer cared about Diana's status. He would not allow himself to lose to Diana. That hatred coagulated into the cruelest poison and hit his heart hard. In that second, Bella's dissatisfaction with her life and everything became one hatred towards Diana.

Bella turned to the paper on the floor and suddenly smiled cynically. The time is still long and he wants to see who will win between himself and Diana.

Before sending a letter of apology to Kusuma, Diana secretly texted Audrey to make sure Kusuma was in the office. After that, he headed to Kusuma's office with his apology letter. As she stood outside the door, Diana took a deep breath and knocked on the door. From inside the room came a voice, "Get in." Diana pushed open the door and entered with her initial face still smiling. However, when he saw someone sitting there, his face became stiff.

Jeff casually leaned against the sofa and did not realize that the one who entered the room was Diana. As he looked back, his expression changed rapidly and he immediately turned his head directing his gaze elsewhere. Diana tried to smile back and looked towards Kusuma.

"I came looking for you because I wanted to give an apology letter" he said slowly.

Kusuma with a flat expression did not want to look at her. He just said, "Hmm, you just put it there."

Diana momentarily hesitated but then stepped towards the table. Initially, he wanted to put an apology letter on it but suddenly a voice sounded that tried to play tricks on him.

"Then this is so, it's not sincere at all. If you want to apologize, it should be read directly," Jeff said.

Diana's hand tightened and she spoke nothing, just waiting for Kusuma's direction.

Kusuma paused for a moment and looked towards Diana. "Then, read it. I also read."

[Total words: 753 words]

Diana raised her eyebrows, wondering inwardly if Fred wanted to talk about it. "Oh, so yes, sir. What can I help you with?"

Fred let go of a small smile. "No need for your help, Diana. I just wanted to let you know there's nothing to worry about. We'll solve our family problems together, but now focus on your work first."

Diana was relieved to hear that. "Thank you, sir. I'll focus on my job."

Fred continued, "Oh yeah, one more. You've already finished your apology with Ba Kusuma, haven't you?"

Diana nodded, "Already, sir. I've read the apology letter."

Fred was satisfied. "Alright, it's good to hear it. If nothing else, you can return to your current duties."

Diana nodded and left the room, feeling relieved and grateful that her problem with Kusuma was over. He promised himself to be more thorough in his work and not to make the same mistakes again.

Meanwhile, he also feels uneasy because Jeff still hasn't deleted the video of his apology. But he would face that problem later, after he had completed his tasks first. He pushes his mind to focus on his current job, believing that he will solve his problems with Jeff one day.

"Lesson Tanoe has confessed to his crime. The court is now counting the exact number. It may not take long for the court to give her sentence."

"What?" Diana's face suddenly turned red. He clenched his hands and looked in disbelief at Fred. "You're telling me my dad committed a crime?"

Fred calmly replied, "Financial crime. Tax evasion. The evidence is complete and he has also admitted."

Diana took a deep breath. Mind empty. Fred's words were so jolting in his ears that they didn't feel real. Wherever possible, from his childhood his father always taught him to obey the law. How could he violate?

Diana's lips almost broke from her bite but her heart was still clouded with doubt. He took another breath and looked at Fred. He slowly asked, "Is this true?"

Fred's expression remained flat, "Yes."

Diana took another breath to calm herself down. Then he said, "Sir Fred, thank you for telling me. If there's no other business, I go first."

Although the remark was calm, in his heart there was a world war. Felt fucked. He still doesn't believe. He did not look at Fred anymore and headed straight for the exit.

This blow is so transparent and deadly. It was as if he had been betrayed by the person he had trusted since childhood. The feeling of weakness and curiosity was so turbulent in his heart.

He heard directly from Fred's mouth that the news must be true. How will he tell his mother? Can her mother withstand this surprise or not?

Diana daydreamed indoors long enough that she had no mood to work in. After much thought, he decided to tell his mother immediately.

Diana went to the toilet in the corner and called her mother. The phone answered her mother quickly and Diana's tears dripped down her cheeks.

Diana still could not accept the fact that her father had committed a crime. In his memory, his father was a good and honest man but now he is considered a fraud.

Her mother was shocked, and immediately asked, "Your sister why? Why crying? Did anyone make fun of you?"

"No mama. I'm looking for a friend to get some info on papa…"

Diana bit her lips and trembled as she continued her words, "I heard, papa really did make a financial mistake. I checked the Internet, there's a penalty…"

Diana had not finished speaking as her cries grew more and more unbearable. On the phone, her mother sounded calm.

"Son, don't cry. When your papa was brought in for an examination, I had already mentally prepared."

Diana panicked, "Ma, did you know from the beginning that papa committed a crime?"

"In the business world, son, I don't really understand but I know that usually in the finance office there's a bit of cheating."

Diana did not know what to do. He furrowed his brows and said, "Ma, I never thought that papa would commit a crime. But, since my papa was the backbone of the Tanoe family for 20 years, I can't help but care. Maybe we can help my dad live a quieter life in prison."

Her mother was silent. Diana tried to find an excuse and then turned off her phone. His heart felt hit by a large stone so he had difficulty breathing.

He knew it was punishment for his father who committed the crime. But because of her 20-year family relationship, Diana cannot keep quiet and must help her father live a quieter life in prison.
