Ch. 88 - Munich 1906 II (3)

Raynaldi jumped up and shouted loudly while making sure the goal was scored. No one knows how frustrated he is this time because of the tight guard of Simmons and other 1906 II Munich members.

When the ball was blocked by Simmons, Raynaldi felt the attack was over. But with his vision he could see the ball falling in front of Buhari who was catching up from behind, so he took the decision to get into the box and hope to get the ball rebounded.

As Raynaldi expected, Buhari eventually took a long shot from outside the box. It does not matter whether the ball will make it in or even out of the crossbar. What Raynaldi was thinking was just an opportunity in front of him, as long as he ran into the box and managed to prop himself up in a clean position. Then a goal might still be made.

Eventually Buhari's shot was pushed over by the goalkeeper, and Raynaldi, who did not stop running until the end, got a clean shot from the rebound and easily scored the first goal of the game.

Simmons just shook his head at this moment, his body still not at its best. If it was him before the long injury that hit him, it would have been easy to catch up to Raynaldi and follow him for 90 minutes. But now he has just recovered after being sidelined with an injury for 9 months, and near the end of this season he has only the desire to seek his condition's recovery.

After Raynaldi's goal was scored, Koeman decided to replace the tired-looking Simmons. He knows Simmons is now fully recovered, only a matter of time to recover his stamina to peak condition.

Koeman approached Simmons who was off the field. “You did well Simmons, it looks like your physical condition has fully recovered, now all that is left is to recover your stamina to peak condition.”

The newly retired Koeman was also Simmons' previous teammate. He can also be considered as his mentor on the back court of Munich 1906. So Simmons is also very close to the head coach of this reserve team.

“Koeman, didn't you tell me this kid is so great? Honestly, his playing level is not suitable for the German second league, in my opinion he is capable enough to become the main player of the Bundesliga team.” Simmons.

”Even though it still has its technical flaws but its ability to take advantage of opportunities is really one of the best I've ever met.” Simmons praised Raynaldi in front of Koeman, this is what he feels on the pitch. The pressure Raynaldi exerts is no longer Germany's second-class forward.

When Raynaldi shot before, Simmons didn't actually think this shot could score, but he jumped to block it anyway, because when Raynaldi's foot touched the ball, he felt this shot was dangerous. And Koeman once told him that Raynaldi's shooting ability was almost beyond logic.

Raynaldi's shooting posture wasn't very good, his left foot wasn't his dominant foot. However, the shot was well controlled. This proves Raynaldi's shooting ability can be on par with Europe's top attackers. If anything is lacking it may be his overall technical skills and playing experience.

Match continues. Munich 1906 II did kick-off and started an attack from the wing. Because they were already one goal behind they decided to strengthen the attack more than the defensive focus as before.

Young German winger Edgar Ritzberg began to break through the right side of the Koln Athletics defence with his individual skills. Relying on his speed and effective dribbling technique, Edgar easily passed the right side of the Koln Athletics field and went head-to-head with defender Koln Athletics.

Speed, impact, explosion and Edgar Ritzberg's skills are all very good. Facing the veteran Pollack, Edgar kicks the ball and passes his opponent with speed, and then passes Promes still stunned by his breakthrough.

Edgar shot the ball directly while dealing one-on-one with Tony.

The ball slid swiftly into the left corner of the goal!

The score changed 1-1.

There was cheers at the Olympic Stadium. This season their new star Edgar Ritzberg briefly trained with the first team before being returned to the reserve team after a stutter competing with their main winger.

However, Edgar's status as the star of Munich's new hopes of 1906 and Germany is still great. Edgar's ability alone is good even in the Bundesliga, if not because both wings of the 1906 Munich first team were too strong, keeping the starting line-up position is still fine.

Amid the expectations of many fans, Edgar took the decision to go to the reserve team because he could not get guaranteed playing time from the first-team coach. This surprised many people at the time.

The return match continues with a kick-off from Koln Athletics. Van Buren tries to set up an attack from midfield. Having lost their defensive core Simmons, Munich 1906 II is no longer an impenetrable wall.

In the 72nd minute, Raynaldi who got the ball inside the penalty box easily scored his second goal of the match and turned the score into 2-1 for Koln Athletics' advantage.

In the 76th minute, Raynaldi who received a pass Van Buren dribbled to the left side of the Munich penalty box 1906 II. Then after outwitting and pulling the opponent's defense, he sent the ball to Robert who was not awake.

Robert easily sent the ball back to the Munich goal in 1906 II to turn the score into 3-1 for Koln Athletics advantage.

After gaining a 2-goal lead, Thomas Sobek replaced Raynaldi with Kevin Kroos to strengthen midfield control and free Lindhberg from his organisational duties, to focus more on defending.

After Raynaldi exited the field, Koln Athletics' attack lost its sharpness. This made Munich 1906 II more brave to attack and master the game until the end of the game.

Thomas Sobek, alarmed by his defence, replaced Buhari with an additional centre-back. It then tells its players to execute a full counter-attack strategy.

After that there is no change in the score of the match, 3-1 is the final score. The Athletics Cologne have maintained their unbeaten form since the winter break.

After the game, things surprised Raynaldi and his team-mates. Simmons, who had been replaced midway through the second half, approached Raynaldi.

“Hai, son. Is this your first season?” Simmons approached Raynaldi with a friendly smile adorning his bald head.

“Iya, it's my first season.” Raynaldi.

“Yeah, it was a good game today. If I was in top condition, I wouldn't let that goal happen.” Simmons.

“If next season we meet, this goal will be repeated again.” Raynaldi said firmly.

“Hahaha... You're a brave boy!” Simmons laughed when he heard Raynaldi's reply.

“How about exchanging jerseys?” Pinta Simmons took off her jersey.

“Oke.” Raynaldi also took off his jersey and swapped with Simmons.

“I'm optimistic about your future son! Let me wait for you in the Bundesliga!” Simmons patted Raynaldi on the shoulder and walked into the player's hallway.

Raynaldi looked at the jersey in his hand and smiled. This was the first time he had gained recognition from his opponent.

Previously he had only gotten a bad view of his enemy even after the match. Simmons was the first to acknowledge his abilities.

“Maybe this is the difference between star and grassroots player?” Raynaldi muttered as he walked down the aisle of the player with his team-mates.
