"Why did you hide it from me all this time?"
Fella and Mama Larissa turned their heads for a moment, both shocked to hear the voice of someone who was none other than Dylan. Too focused on his own conversation, they did not realize that Dylan had come in and heard everything.
"Why did Mama hide it from me?" Dylan repeated his question, along with the advancing footsteps until he stood right beside Fella.
"Dylan, I'm sorry Mama."
"What I need is not an apology, Ma, but an explanation. Why is Mama talking now, why not before?"
Dylan's voice rose an octave. He looked at his mother's face in disappointment. A big fact that concerns him, even kept secret for a long time. In the past, he had hoped for that fact.
"Why, Ma?" dylan shouted, as if forgetting that he was still in the hospital.
Mama Larissa couldn't answer anything. Only her lips were trembling, as well as tears that started to drip out. The disappointment that seemed obvious on Dylan's face, made Mama Larissa regret and feel guilty. Until I no longer know how to fix it.
He used to think hiding was the best option, but it wasn't. Until finally he chose to be as forthright as he is now.
"I didn't expect Mama to do this. My mother was still hiding everything, but she knew what was going on between us. Mom and Dad were selfish. Just attach importance to the good name, until forgetting the feelings of the child himself. Mama knows how frustrated I am for thinking Fella is my younger sister? Do you know how unfair we were then? Why, Ma? Why did Mom let all that happen? Why weren't you honest at the time?" Dylan shouted again, even his voice higher than before.
Hearing that, Fella chose to get up and get out of the room. Before Fidela was shocked, and then she cried. After all, it was enough that he knew his true identity. No need to remember the events of that night, which are now revealed again by Dylan.
After Fella, Mama Larissa started talking. He apologized, and admitted he was wrong for hiding everything. However, it has not yet melted Dylan's heart.
"I'm disappointed in Mama" said Dylan without a smile. A moment later, he left and followed Fella.
"Dylan! Wait, Dylan! Mama's not done talking, Dylan!"
Mama Larissa's shout was only considered a wind that did not need to be responded to. Dylan continued to leave until his body was no longer visible. Finally, Mama Larissa could only look at the passing of her son with sadness. Then, he fell silent alone while lamenting his mistake.
"If I had known from the beginning that things would be like this, I would have been honest since I first brought Fella home," Mama Larissa's inner voice with her eyes closed, trying to hold back tears to stop dripping.
Meanwhile, outside the room Fella turned to and fro looking for Daffi's whereabouts. Sometimes she called her husband, but there was no answer. I don't know where Daffi went.
"Fella!"
"We don't have blood" Dylan said in a voice stuck in his throat.
Fella threw a sideways glance, reluctant to stare at Dylan's sour face.
"Not to be clarified anymore, I understand. Relax, I am self-conscious. I won't ask for any inheritance with Mama and Papa, because I'm just a maid's son."
Fella's answer made Dylan even more upset. He already hated the reality, and still coupled with the attitude of Fella who he believed was just pretending to be stupid.
"I don't want to talk about inheritance, but about the child you're carrying now!" Dylan stared at Fella even more sharply, to the point that the woman retreated and took a considerable distance.
"I asked again, Fel, and you have to be honest. Whose son is this?" dylan said, demanding a more convincing answer.
"What more honesty do you want, this is my son with Brother Daffi. You ask me how many times, my answer will remain the same. Because this child, indeed my son with a husband, has nothing to do with you!"
Dylan shook his head. "I don't believe it. The first time I saw him in the hospital yesterday, I felt something different about him. And again, that night we did it without safety. While I was still under the influence of medicine, so it was impossible to throw it outside, it was definitely inside and so she was. Aye, right?"
"Are you as good as what, just doing one straight time as a baby?" sahut Daffi who was standing behind Fella.
She had just received a call, so had no idea that Dylan had walked into the room, and was now forcing Fella to reveal the identity of her son.
"Whatever you say, but I'm sure he's my son!" Dylan won't budge.
Daffi laughed crisply. "Read there! Who are you, how dare you admit that he is your son? Look yeah, she's my daughter, Fella's pregnant after marrying me!"
"That's impossible!" dylan replied quickly.
"You don't care about her, so you know when she's married, and when she's pregnant. But, one thing is certain. Fella and I are legally and religiously married. So, if your unbelief bothers us, I could sue you. As a husband, I will not allow anyone to disturb the peace of my son and wife, including you. Catch that!" daffi said very firmly.
She also hugs Fella's shoulder tightly, showing that the woman is hers, and will not be touched by Dylan.
