Genius Children: Between Hate and Miss

Genius Children: Between Hate and Miss
Guests Not Invited

Hearing the commotion that occurred between his younger brother and former would-be besi, Nathalie moved away from the crowd of invited guests and walked up to the husband who was having a warm conversation with an important client who was deliberately invited to the wedding anniversary party.

Standing next to her husband and whispering, "Pa, you invited them too?" Martin nodded his head in response. "Why don't you have a discussion with me first?" nathalia's protest against her husband.

"You know for yourself that I hate Miranda. Did you forget what happened a few months ago? Because of that damn woman our daughter became the subject of everyone's scorn for failing to get engaged to Xander. Then now why do you seem to deliberately bring Miranda in front of me when you know how I hate that woman. Did you do it all on purpose, Pa?" nathalia said without pausing her sentence. Indeed, he was very upset about the attitude of Martin who seemed to not care about his opinion to make a decision unilaterally.

Martin did not answer the wife's question. The middle-aged man actually pulled Nathalia's hand away from the crowd. "Don't tell me again that shameful incident, Ma, I don't like it! Besides why should you hate Miranda, isn't your own son guilty? You should have scolded him and advised him to change his attitude instead of blaming others."

"You spoiled her so much that she turned into a spoiled girl and always made a troublemaker. As a mother, you have failed to educate her, Ma. He once tarnished the good name of the family and should not make the same mistake. I don't want the business I've been building all along to be ruined because of that stupid kid. Understood?"

"Oh yes, for Miranda and her family's business, I did invite them, but it was all at your sister's urging. So if you want to protest, meet Monica and tell her your uneg-uneg. I have nothing to do with this matter because my position is only as the executor."

Martin tidied up the end of the sleeve of the suit wrapped around his body and again said, "I still have to greet my business partner so don't bother me anymore for trivial matters. Just take care of each other's affairs and we'll only meet again when the party starts."

Nathalia stared at Martin's departure with a sad look. There was a feeling of disappointment enveloping himself when he saw how cold the husband's attitude was. In the eyes of her husband, work is more important than anything.

A well-dressed man advanced onto the stage with a mic in his right hand. Tonight he serves as the MC who organizes the continuity of the event during the party.

"The invited guests, I represent Mr. Martin and Mrs Nathalia would like to thank all of you for attending the 26th anniversary party. It does not feel like a quarter of a century more a couple in front of us is spending time together, passing through the twists and turns of household life by continuing to join hands. May their harmony last forever." The MV spoke in a loud and firm voice.

A boisterous applause was heard when the MC said. They are also happy for the wedding celebration which was held in one of the famous hotels in the Jakarta city area.

The party is still going on. This time the happy couple was asked to cut a birthday cake as high as five levels with the top there are symbols of the letters M and N which stands for the names of Martin and Nathalia. Both of Lidya's parents seemed so happy that they did not expect to get a beautiful surprise from their daughter.

Nathalia kissed Lidya's cheek lovingly. "Thank you, honey. Mama was made speechless by this gift you gave me."

Lidya smiled widely to show her rows of clean white teeth. "You're welcome. I'm happy that Papa and Mama are happy."

Jonathan clenched his palms beside the body. Jaws protrude out, restraining the emotion that was about to explode. "I'm not sure if you can still smile when all your crimes are exposed in front of everyone." Feeling fed up, Jonathan glanced to the side then nodded his head at someone on the other end.

The atmosphere turned violent, sounding fine whispers sourced from the invited guests. Birthday party events instantly become a gossip spot for mothers who are hungry for news.

"Pa, did you invite the police to come here?" nathalia whispered in her husband's ear.

"Ngaco. Where might I invite them. I'm sure it's a technical glitch until the caretaker lets the two cops be present among the invited guests."

'Damn, what do the two policemen want to come here? Don't tell me they're gonna arrest me.' Shaking your head quickly, get rid of negative thoughts that had perched in the head. 'No way. I'm sure no one knows that the accident was my doing.'

Right hand raised into the air, the two brown uniformed policemen saluted Martin, Nathalia and Lidya. "Good night. Sorry to interrupt Mom and Dad's show. We came here with an arrest warrant on behalf of Miss Lidya. According to the evidence, Miss Lidya was suspected as a hit-and-run perpetrator on the victim named Miss Miranda Vincent Pramono a few days ago."

Suddenly everyone turned their eyes perfectly to hear the words of one of the police officers. And so is Lidya. The girl's body suddenly trembled with a paled face.

In Lidya's mind said, how can the police know that he was the mastermind behind the accident. Though his men have confirmed that when the accident took place there was not a single witness saw the incident even CCTV around in a state of death then why now the two police officers brought arrest warrants for him?

"Mr must be wrong. I wasn't involved in the accident" Lidya denied.

"For that Miss can explain later in the office. Come, come with us!"

One of the policemen came forward, intending to put handcuffs on Lidya's hands. However, Nathalia's body had already stood in front of Lidya. The middle-aged woman became a shield for the princess.

Nathalia's two hands stretched out to the right and left. "You can't catch my daughter. Lidya my son is innocent. He's a good boy can't have done that deed."
