Krieing..! Krieg..! Krieing…!
Edi was awakened by the sound of a clock-worker on a table near the bed. Indeed Edi is an eccentric person, he prefers a clock that has a picture of a chicken nodding, rather than wearing an alarm on his smartphone. For a moment Edi was stunned.
Not because of the sound of the alarm clock that makes Edi surprised, because the sound of the alarm clock from the past is also so. Edi was astonished because it was still three in the morning! So why would he set an alarm on a blind morning gini?! Then he remembered that today was Sunday, and he had made a pact to fish with Mr. Bejo in the northern reservoir.
Edi crept out of the room slowly so as not to wake his wife. Because if his wife came to wake up, then the fishing plan that day will fail miserably, of course his wife will not allow him to go fishing.
After preparing all his combat equipment to catch fish, Edi also gassed his bututu honda motor to the house of the bejo pack. Eve was so cold that she had to slowly run her motorbike. Ten minutes drive, arriving at the home of Mr. Bejo, it turns out he was waiting in front of his house.
"Are you ready sir?" ask Edi.
"Leave the moss aja. later we stop by first at the buffalo market to buy moss.." replied Mr. Bejo.
"Emang already got permission from the wife..? ask Edi.
"Obviously donk. from yesterday have asked permission.."
"It's very easy to get permission, sir. I just have to hide from my wife." said Edi.
"Women if they live more money than usual, will certainly not say more." replied Mr. Bejo lightly.
"So that's the secret, hahaha." said Edi followed by laughter. "Next time I want to try it.."
"Udah yuk is leaving, the noon rush is ntar.."
With a gun, they set out to head to the reservoir, splitting the still very quiet and slightly foggy road. This time the fishing technique they use is a technique that is often referred to as 'nyobok', with a very long fishing rod that is often called 'tegek', the bait used is moss, and the angler must plunge into the water until as deep as the chest. The fish targeted is tilapia.
Long story short, they arrived at the buffalo market. Although it was only 5 am and the sun had not yet risen, but the market was already very crowded, many anglers also bought equipment there, until Edi and pack Bejo must join the jostle to buy moss.
After getting the moss, they stopped by one of the stalls for breakfast, also bought rice packs and side dishes for lunch later. After doing all the business in the market, they continued the journey to the fishing location.
The sun was already visible on the eastern horizon when they arrived at the outskirts of the reservoir. Without wasting time they also began to prepare all fishing equipment 'nyobok' technique'. After leaving his bag on the edge of the reservoir, Edi immediately plunged into the water to start fishing, while Mr. Bejo was still sitting relaxed while smoking. Suddenly Edi was strangled as his feet touched the water of the reservoir.
"Whuaa.the water's like ice! So adem..!"said Edi
"Haha..wrong yourself.why rush? Still early in the morning the water is still cold." replied Mr. Bejo as he continued his laughter.
"The pot is hunted by someone else sir." replied Edi.
"There are still many other spots, why should you be confused? I want to be there." said Mr. Bejo, pointing far to his left.
Steady, Edi's pants were wet, so he was reckless to keep walking on the bottom of the water. After the water was as deep as the chest, Edi began to spread moss aka 'ngebom', this aims to lure tilapia fish to get closer to it. Then Edi put the bait in the eye hook in the form of moss or hydrilla long-length like hair. Only then did he throw his hook using a 5.5-meter long fishing rod.
Half an hour, but no fish yet. As the sun gets hotter. Mr. Bejo looks to have started fishing as well, about 20 meters to his left Edi. While 15 meters to the right of Edi there is another angler as well. He was a young man in his 25s, similar to Edi. The man was wearing a long shirt with a blue hoodie. The length of the fishing rod is about 6 meters, only three people who fish at the spot including Edi and Bejo pack.
"How come, usually a lot of fishing here, do they already know that here again difficult to be fished, huh..?" inner Edi.
Just now batting, the buoy seemed to twitch and sink from the surface of the water. Edi immediately jolted his fingers.
"Can!!"
A tilapia of three fingers fluttered at the end of the strings.
"Three fingers. is enough to make the opening.maybe more and more fish.." inner Edi again.
But hope remained hope, until near noon, Edi did not get any more fish, only one of which he got so far. So he decided to get out of the water, resting over lunch. Edi sat on dry land on the edge of the reservoir and began to enjoy his rice wrapper. Before long, Mr. Bejo was seen coming over, he was carrying three fish as big as four fingers.
"Where sir? Nice isn't?" ask Edi.
"It's hard, just three of these." replied Mr. Bejo while showing the net where the fish.
"The only problem is three doank fishing, people have difficulty fishing." said Edi.
"That one next to you didn't..?"
"From this morning did not see him lift his fingers.it seems not dapet also that." replied Edi.
"Or do we move the location..?" said Mr. Bejo while opening the rice wrapper.
"Nanggung sir.already at this hour, patiently-sabarin aja here." replied Edi.
They talked while finishing their lunch. After that, they went fishing. Edi moved the spot to be closer to Bejo's pack, their distance is now about 10 meters. And the man who was fishing to the right of Edi had moved near Edi. Their distance is the same, which is 10 meters.
Three hours passed, Edi had already raised two more tilapia as big as a palm, so the amount he obtained was three. While Mr. Bejo got five tails, and the hoodie near Edi was only one tail. They start to look desperate. And the sky was already starting to cloud thick. So Edi decided to stop fishing that day.
The clouds darkened quickly, the thunderbolt and the wind gusts grew louder. Edi was sitting on dry land on the edge of the reservoir, right behind the hoodie. Edi sped up his activities packing all his fishing gear. And Mr. Bejo followed him.
"We just go home. Just be a little bit more this rain." said Mr. Bejo.
"Yes this is also packing." replied Edi.
"Apes really today, dapet fish only dikit gini, but usually this spot is good you know.."
"Still mending dapet five sir. lha I'm only three.."
Not finished packing, tau-tau rain fell as poured from the sky, very swift accompanied by strong winds and endless thunderbolts. Edi and Mr. Bejo immediately put on his raincoat and were about to leave the reservoir. That's when Edi's eyes pounded on a hoodie who was still stuck in the water while cool fishing. To his astonishment, Edi began to notice the man. And when the man lifts his torch high into the air..
A huge flash of lightning struck right at the fishing rod of that person. Edi and Mr. Bejo shouted loudly at the same time. The joran was smashed into pieces, while the person's body emitted smoke. Slowly the body began to sink into the chest-deep water.
For a few seconds Edi and Bejo pack speechless pecking. What was happening before their eyes caused a great shock. Edi's body seemed to tremble, for life he had never seen such a tragic event.
Mr. Bejo first realized, he immediately ran and threw himself into the reservoir water, swimming towards the drowning of the person. Then Edi followed. They both dived to the bottom, until they finally found the body of the hoodie.
While swimming, Edi and Bejo's pack dragged the hoodie's body to the edge of the reservoir. And when the man's body was lifted to the ground, Edi and Bejo sir realized that the hoodie had died with a terrible body.
The man's face was charred black, his skin was peeling, cracking and bleeding, some of his hair was burnt out. The right hand that held the fishing rod was crushed to the wrist, the fingers and palms were as if they had been put into a meat grinder.
Unknowingly Edi retreated, what he saw was simply too terrifying. They stood in the middle of heavy rain and strong winds, they were too shocked to know what else to do. Five minutes passed, and Mr. Bejo immediately regained consciousness.
"We have to call the police." said Mr. Bejo.
"Why mu-maybe." said Edi stammeringly.
"How do you mean?" ask Mr. Bejo wonder.
"Wa-reservoir's the lowest place, how can bus-can?" said Edi.
Mr. Bejo was more astonished, under these circumstances Edi was still thinking about it, thinking about the laws of physics!
"You forgot this guy's fishing rod is 6 meters long, and it's made of carbon fiber, of course it can conduct electricity. After all this person is lifting his fingers up high." replied Mr. Bejo.
"What should we do now, sir?" edi asked, his face deathly pale and his body trembling.
"Call the police.."
Mr. Bejo opened his bag and checked the contents, then he took out a clear plastic package containing his cellphone. After that it seemed to talk on the phone by shouting, because the rain that was as heavy as it made it could not be heard.
After calling, Mr. Bejo invited Edi to move places, now they take shelter under a tree, because until then the lightning is still unpretentious, followed by heavy rain and storm winds. Mr. Bejo seemed to be fiddling with his phone. Their minds were not upset, this time Edi saw a person struck by lightning right in front of his eyes, while Mr. Bejo just this time saw a lightning strike victim so severe.
"What.. do the police know about this place, sir?"
"I've already sent this location, so surely they know this place.."
"This cop is Mr Bejo?" ask Edi.
"Yes I happen to have a cop friend, let him call the police near here.."
"We're looking for help from the local population sir..?"
"This place is far from the settlement. So call the police." replied Mr. Bejo.
"I never thought there would be such an event.Even my body is still trembling until now." said Edi.
"This kind of incident has happened before, I've heard of it. People are struck by lightning fitting again fishing in the reservoir, when rain falls and lightning strikes." said Mr. Bejo.
"Has the net also been struck..?" ask Edi.
"Yes.same as I was before.."
"It's terrible after this I can't sleep.."
"Therefore I took you home, because fishing in the rain was indeed a real danger.it turned out to be an event as well. still lucky not we who experienced." said Mr. Bejo.
"No shadow, sir." replied Edi, shuddering in horror.
They were both silent, waiting under the tree. While the body of the woodie was still left on the edge of the reservoir, under the pouring of heavy rain. An hour passed, when they saw flashes of blue and red lights, police car lights.
Rushing they went up towards the asphalt road. There was already a car and two police officers with two people around. Mr. Bejo told briefly what had happened, then the six of them went back down to the reservoir, approaching the body of the hoodie.
One of the policemen immediately made several radio calls, and the other police began to comb the area. Edi and Mr. Bejo were just sitting on the ground, not far from the body. Sometimes they answer the questions of two policemen and two citizens.
Half an hour passed and the sirens of the ambulance were heard. One of the policemen immediately climbed back onto the asphalt road. Shortly afterwards he returned with two medics carrying a stretcher. Together they put the body of a hoodie into a body bag and raised it up. Then by carrying a stretcher they began to climb up.
The road was very steep, especially the rainy days, making the road more slippery and the evacuation more difficult. Edi and Mr. Bejo helped carry the stretcher. While on the way, another resident appeared to join, he took up a stretcher, right in front of Edi.
The sky had already completely darkened by the time they reached the top. More and more police cars, ambulances and also surrounding residents. Some medics came back to carry the stretcher. So Edi and Mr. Bejo took off the stretcher. They both stood on the side of the asphalt road.
There was one citizen standing next to Edi, he was the one who had helped lift the stretcher, right in front of Edi. Unknowingly Edi noticed the man, his face covered in a hoodie from the t-shirt he was wearing. Somehow the unpleasant feelings began to crawl into Edi's heart.
"Thank you" said the man suddenly.
"Thank you for what?" ask Edi.
"Thank you for calling the police and for helping with the removal of the body.."
"Why thank me? Was this the victim's brother..?" ask Edi more and more curious.
The man turned his head towards Edi, without answering, slowly he opened his hoodie aka his head covering, and under the illumination of the ambulance lights, it was clear how the person's face was.
The face was charred black, the skin was peeling and cracking out blood. He raised his right hand. And the hand was crushed to the wrist. That person was the victim of the lightning strike earlier! And before Edi's gaze darkened due to loss of consciousness, there was still a sound of muffling in his ears.
