Gita felt like she never hurt anyone. Never bother others, no unpaid debts. He also never depended on his family. Especially the mother who although not rich, but his life is prosperous. The Gita feels it is never a burden to anyone except.
“I'm about to faint,” whispered Gita, clutching hard on Lily's shoulder.
The wedding inside was just over. A pair of humans who have just received the title husband and wife are now struggling to hear the wejangan.
“Don't faint now. We go back to the office and you have to keep the presentation in place of Monic.” Lily pulled Gita's hand away from the house. Gita's past body made the woman have to drag her with all her might.
“I have to ask Rama. I need Rama's explanation. Can't just go!” Gita threw Lily's hand a few steps away from the corner-most cluster house. Hand vibrates. Rather than being sad, his anger was bigger.
Lily grimaced looking at her hand that had just been thrown by Gita, then stared fiercely at her co-worker. “I don't care why your fiancee married Monic. I don't care about what's going on between you. I showed it this morning because I didn't want my words to be considered wind and then you. Everyone in the office knows that you are the most loyal woman, almost naive. Imagine if I said your fiancee married your best friend because she was pregnant without proof, what do you think of me? Envied? This morning I was showing you the proof straight away, Git!” Lily's emotions were stirred. “I want to go back to the office. It's up to you to embarrass yourself with a cry or a tantrum to the house. I'll take a taxi to the office if you still want to be here.” Lily rummaged through her bag looking for a cell phone while continuing to walk away.
“At least explain in more detail with me. Give me an explanation of where you know about Rama and Monic. How do you know about that son of a bitch?!” This time Gita's tears had already fallen to her cheeks. His lips shook with the cry.
Lily clutches Gita's arm and takes her to the car. “Chat in car only. Enter and switch AC. We should at least get a little away from this house. I don't want the fathers who saw us earlier even know who we are.”
Despite her silence, Gita obeys Lily's words. Get in the car and start it. “Should let everyone know who I am. Let Rama also know I came to see her wedding.” Gita sobbing. The car had driven out of the complex and was going down an arid and deserted road.
“We're not too close for me to give you advice. But Rama is not your husband until you have to bother embarrassing yourself. Unless ... you feel you have to hold her accountable. Don't want to embarrass yourself. You don't see who came to the wedding?” Lily took a packet of tissue from the dashboard and thrust it into the Gita.
Gita pulls out a sheet of tissue and thinks of Lily's answer to the question. Anybody who comes? Both of Rama's parents and both of Monic's parents. Everything present. Gita felt her throat crammed with something that made her choked. The marriage had all the blessings except her. Gita pulled over the car and cried as she hugged the steering wheel.
“Sorry to say hi. I think you need an explanation of where I know about their event today.” Lily glanced at the watch on her wrist while the other hand rubbed Gita's back. “I know from my husband. Although my husband and Rama are not members of the medical school, my husband read his class yesterday. Said their underclassman who next month finished PPDS married for impregnating his girlfriend. My husband .. felt familiar with the photo of Rama scattered in the group. My husband told me that we all went to the office dinner and he had a chat with Rama. My husband just what is your full name.” Lily's swipe on Gita's back came to a halt.
Gita who was crying hugged the steering wheel got up to look at Lily.
Lily continued. “I don't know anything until I'm annoyed that my husband went back and forth with your name. Finally I snatched my husband's cell phone and I joined his college group for his nanya about Rama. I don't know where and when they started walking. But all Rama's friends only know Monic. Medical school friends only know Rama's girlfriend .. yes Monic.”
“I .. I know Rama to Monic when Monic returns to Bekasi and I offer to stay in my apartment. Rama brought me dinner. Then .. they're acquaintances. I think ... that was the first time they met. Six months ago.” Gita was crying again.
Six months ago he introduced his fiancee and best friend in the office. And all of Rama's friends on campus know Monic better as his lover. “What's my fault with Rama? What's wrong with me to Monic?”
Gita nodded while biting her lips held back a cry. “I always felt my relationship and Rama was very stable. I was busy meeting the target to both collect money for a joint wedding expenses. I understand the situation of Rama who is in need of a lot of spending for his school. I always thought Rama's future was my future too.”
Lily nodded. “Iya, Git. Sorry …. We need to get to the office now. You can't be fired.”
Gita pulled back a piece of tissue that Lily had proffered. He nodded. Simply understand why Lily did not want to linger to hear the story. They are not close enough and Lily is also being chased by their superiors. It was good enough that his friend accompanied him to meet the most bitter reality that morning.
When asked, Gita is not strong. The shadow of her best friend getting pregnant with her fiance makes the Gita's heart beat harder and more painful. Where did they do that? When's? Isn't Rama out of town? Then whose house is it? Did Rama buy a house to live with Monic?
Arriving at the B2 parking lot where he used to put the vehicle, Gita only had time to wear sunscreen and polish the lipsticks before hurrying to the fifth floor.
“Git, from where? Wanted Mr. Braja.” The director's secretary immediately shouted as soon as Gita appeared at the door.
“I went straight into his room. Apologize before the presentation. I don't want to be humiliated in front of the kids.” Gita put down her bag and rushed into the director's room. When he knocked on the door, his lips did not stop saying prayers. Like meeting a demon, he thought.
“Log in!” shouted a man from inside.
Gita enters and stands upright with two hands linked in front of the table inscribed, ‘BRAJA MUSTI – Sales Director’
“Sorry I'm late, sir. I...”
BRAAKKS
“This is what you call the best sales report? Is this what you will present in the meeting room? It's rubbish!”
Gita blinked once. The papers were scattered in front of his face. That flash is very fast. Gita looked down at the sales report made by Monic, her best friend.
