Hans the Blind Witch of the Aksara

Hans the Blind Witch of the Aksara
6: The Wall of Silvia!

Knowledge is like the poison cup that brings life, it gives protection but it also brings misdirection. He makes you not fooled, but at the same time deceives the mind. Because what your knowledge says is good, not necessarily good for everyone.

Don't believe the knowledge of the heart problem, it is cold and has no feelings. He is only centered on you, because you feel you know, feel with knowledge everything is enough.

Knowing doesn't mean you understand.

Johnson Wiggin, Bar Owner.

[1] The Javanese script (Hanacaraka) reads 'Wit' a sanskrit word meaning tree.

"Whoah!" The knights involuntarily let off a surprised voice, they certainly did not think that the man was a Magi.

"Sorry, we are going through this area and heading towards the eastern mainland. We're nothing more than hitchhiking through!" Atkinson said as he bowed with his hands behind his back, his body bent small by lowering his right leg and then stood straight back up.

"Oh! All right, sir, please pass. Forgive our previous actions because we were just on guard for the enemy attack!"

"Can you show me the medal of your permission to enter the kingdom?" The officer-level knight looked nervous, looking nervously at the three stars seen in the right and left palms of Lord Atkinson.

"Ma-ma-magi with three characters!!" The squadron chief was nervous. A natural mark will form on the hand of magi or knights in each level, of course people can hide it. Mr. Atkinson purposely pointed it out in order to avoid misunderstandings.

"Glup!" He gulped, trying to remain calm and asking permission to enter and exit Mr. Atkinson, trying his best not to offend the interlocutor. Because even though he is a six-star hero knight, but compared to a magi who has three characters he is just dust on the shore that faces the high tide.

The head of the squadron returned Atkinson's greeting in the same way, his eyes then looking at the shining gold medal which was then thrown at him.

The pling!

The splashing sound of gold medal chains clashing was heard when the medal landed right in the hands of the knight. He rushed back, becoming more nervous. The gold medal only shows one thing, Commander!

"Pronounce my greetings to your commander who has lent me this medal! Thank you so much for understanding!" Atkinson then walked back towards the large tree, a large tendril as if descending from above and carrying Atkinson up, and, the man holding on to a large rope that was winding around gave the impression of a snake pulling on him.

The officer-level knight was still pecking, his back and nape were full of sweat. He still could not imagine, he had almost swung his sword at the royal commander-in-chief's guest.

**

The huge tree with its house on its back was walking past the walls of Silvia, the forest welcoming their gaze. Five days after exiting the walls of Silvia the scene changed, though the majority of what Hans saw was a collection of trees and small rivers.

Hans sat on his bedroom chair while looking out the window, his eyes still looking at the forest lazily. But he was surprised when he found a large deer looking at him from below, the deer was about three hundred meters from the position of a giant tree. The large deer is more than six meters long, and has a height of twice that of an adult. The two great horns like a tree's machete and its sturdy body make it seem as if it is the owner of the forest. But only then, the creature disappeared and left only traces of green light and disappeared from where it stood.

**

The second day after passing through the walls of Silvia.

"Hans try to see this, I found some books that might help you learn. It's just that this book can only be used if you have jiha, you can keep it,"

"For now let me show you how it works!" Atkinson said, cleaning up the covers of old books he found in his library.

"That's a lot of mister!" Hans exclaimed excitedly, his gaze attached to the books that were filled with dust that began to fly when Atkinson cleaned them.

'Uhuk-uhuk!" The man coughed in the dust.

"Look! First of all you must feel the jiha in your body." Atkinson then closed his eyes.

"Hans! Come here, try touching this part!" Atkinson gave the order while pointing at one of the limbs from his right arm.

"Feel the warm part!"

"That's right!"

"Now follow the heat you feel!" Hans' eyes were focused on Atkinson's hand which he was currently palpating with both hands. The movement of the heat is like a spiral that flows from the elbow, then turns the arm to the wrist.

"Hans you may not be able to see jiha at this time, but that doesn't mean you can't feel it!"

"Jiha is energy, just like air. It exists though invisible but felt,"

"Unseen doesn't mean nothing, don't trust your eyes too easily."

"All right, now look at this book!" Atkinson pointed at the book sheet at random.

A carving of a plant one and a half cubits in size[1] and the shape of a toothed leaf like fish fins are etched beautifully on the wooden sheet that Atkinson holds. The book has thick pages, because each sheet is a tree bark engraved. Slowly the heat began to flow into each sheet of books, light began to burst out with luster and a bright mist began to form in the air. Hans was shocked to take a step back and make his back meet the corner of the table.

"Looky! Sir, this is amazing!" The scream of the child who had not even nine years, he was so amazed and enthusiastic. The shadow of the tree in the air was real, Hans could see the rough surface of the leaves without even tearing them. So in fact he can see other parts of the tree split—image in the air deliberately split to show the contents of the trunk— reveal white sap that drips out, the, also a white flower with five petals like thin fingers that spread to the five cardinal directions.

"This plant is named, Laurentia Langiflora[2]!"

"Cataract disease treatment plant, but do not use the sap because it is toxic!"

"You need to extract the flowers, then drip them on the eyes!"

"Remember the whole form, so you'll recognize it later in the wild!" It appears that sweat began to appear on Atkinson's face, although it does not take up a lot of energy, but this activity still eats Atkinson's jiha.

"Get ready sir!" The boy's eyes looked with great precision, like he was reluctant to miss a single detail.

"Alright next!"

"All right!"

"See next page!" Atkinson refocused himself on the thick old book in his hand, slowly images of plants began to appear in the air. The jiha flakes begin to gather and form plants as high as 2dpa[3].

"This flower has the property to relieve internal diseases due to excess stomach acid, the magi who are too long ascetic and also do research will usually experience problems with their stomach. This plant is great use to them."

"Look at these trumpet-like flowers, they propagate in some media, cliff walls or whatever."

And the lesson about medicinal plants continued, it did seem to have nothing to do with the quest for power he heard. But hearing the problems that may arise and these plants may be the answer. Hans greedily swallowed all the information he could obtain.

After more than two hours of non-stop, finally the explanation from Mr. Atkinson was completed. But that is not the end, but the beginning of the real lesson.

"Ehm.."

"Hans now I'm going to start asking, will I mention the name of the plant randomly and then you have to explain its characteristics and functions? How's it?" Atkinson said as he fixed his sitting position, looking at Hans with a serious face and full of charisma.

Hans nodded loudly, both of his hands holding on to the rebuttal of the wooden chair he was sitting on. He was so excited, not many knew, although he could not read but he was confident enough with his memory.

"Scottopanax scutallerium![4]" A plant's name came out of Atkinson's mouth, and Hans, who had put his ear in a fine manner, answered. But he forced himself to calm down first, making sure everything he remembered was right. A moment later he opened his mouth, "Growing at an altitude of twenty cubits above sea level,"

"Shaped like a bowl, deep green. This plant is able to eliminate body odor, help in hunting, especially the hunt for magical animals and escape from the enemy."

"The way to make it can be used to mix baths with warm water, or made powder and applied to the entire body,"

"Can be cultivated using cuttings and planting stems techniques!" Hans replied smoothly, his explanation flowing profusely and smoothly without a doubt. Not yet had he sighed Atkinson then threw another name at him,"Morinda Citrifolia[5]!"

"The tree has a straight, broad-leaved tree trunk, has white flowers,"

"The part that is made of medicine is the fruit, has spots and longitudinal shape. The fruit changes color from green to white then to yellow when ripe. A distinctive feature of Morinda fruit is its foul, non-wearing smell."

"The fruit of Morinda Citrifolia is useful to lower blood pressure when there is an internal wound during hermitage, especially due to a loss of faith in the Script he uses," Until this point Hans fell silent, then looked at Mr. Atkinson.

"Sorry sir, what does it mean to lose faith in the Scriptures?" Asked the plain boy, but as if not giving him a chance to get an answer, another name was thrown out and he inevitably had to answer it.

"Colocasia Esculenta![6]"

Hans was silent for a moment, slightly irritated at not getting an answer. But he soon refocused and recalled the usefulness of the plant just mentioned. It didn't take long, like a sophisticated computer he answered smoothly, "Having leaves with a triangular shape, it doesn't have a true stem. A kind of taro, the part used is the tubers are bent, short or round. The part of the stem that approaches the brown root, the tubers can be used as a substitute for rice/wheat and used as a therapy for diabetes mellitus."

"Tell me about diabetes!" Cutting off his speech, Atkinson's voice resolutely rang out again, Hans gasped again, closing his eyes for a moment while breathing in. Then give a long explanation in one breath.

"Diabetes is a condition in which blood sugar levels are far above the normal limit, there are two types of diabetes that first occur because the immune system attacks the cells of the pancreas that produce the hormone insulin so that it requires an external dose of insulin to break down sugar levels in the blood. This type is very rare and is usually due to hereditary factors."

"Type two diabetes occurs due to an irregular lifestyle, following the desires of the flesh continuously without practicing. This disease usually affects the nobles and the royal family, because this is also the price of high colocais!" Until this point Hans' eyes sparkled.

Haha I can look for it and earn a lot of money from selling this plant! This lesson is useful too. Uncle Wiggins said, Knowledge is power, especially in making money!

Hans raved in his heart, but his facial expression explained everything. Atkinson just shook his head as if he knew what the boy was thinking.

Atkinson continued to name one plant to another, and the further he asked, the more surprised he became. When the name of the tree he asked reached the hundredth name, "Cajanus Caj-.." He stared silently at the face that was smiling innocently towards him.

To be sure, I remember the first time my father asked me this, I only remembered thirty-eight names. Even my father had praised me as a genius, but this brat, he remembered the words, the details of the shapes were even able to draw them on a wooden sculpture almost identical to the original. It's insane!

"Master?!?" Hans asked doubtfully.

Atkinson was still silent in his daydream, before long he realized and felt a little dizzy. His pride from many years ago as a genius in medicine is now shaken. He just shut up, then called Hibiscus,"Hibiscus! Come here, teach Hans about beasts and magical creatures!"

Without waiting for an answer from the chariot driver, Atkinson went into his room and did not go out for a full day.

Hibiscus who had just come looked at Hans questioningly, he reached his chin up as if asking 'what happened'. Hans shrugged his shoulders and then shook his head.
