Chapter 1: POOR GEVARIEL

City M, somewhere in the middle of the construction frenzy.

Gevariel looked rather pitiful, he was wearing a project vest, revealing his healthy tanned skin and strong muscles. He carried four or five bags of cement on his shoulders.

Gevariel felt his blood boiling. He tried to get the courage to refuse. "But..we can fix our relationship, right? We can try again, right?"

Ratna laughed cynically. "It's no use, Gevariel. You've been too far apart. Your journey full of wounds and memory loss has changed you. I don't want Akness to continue to suffer with you."

Gevariel's facial expression grew pale. He felt his life being broken into pieces. Everything he had built all this time, vanished in an instant.

Mona who was next to him, could not help but feel pity. "Why...why did you do it, Ratna?"

Ratna looked at Mona coldly. "You won't understand, Mona. I did it for Akness' happiness. Gevariel must bear the consequences of his forgotten past."

Gevariel felt like he had been stabbed in the inside of his heart. He tried to calm himself.

"Well, I'll sign the deal" Gevariel said in a trembling voice.

Ratna smiled with satisfaction. "alright. Akness will be free from this burden and you two can move on with each other's lives."

In silence, Gevariel signed the agreement. Every ink that fell on the paper felt like it was dashing out the remaining glimmer of hope in him.

When Gevariel loses his memory, he is saved by Akness' father, Rudi Utomo. Under Rudi Utomo's coercion, Gevariel and Akness are married. However, now that things have changed, since the death of Rudi Utomo, Gevariel has never been treated well by his wife and mother-in-law.
