Hidden In The Mist

Hidden In The Mist
Chapter 27 The Village Behind the Fog

It was good to rush into the tent. The hoarse voice of the shadow of the woman, still haunting the contents of his mind. Despite trying to sleep, but the grinning black shadow beside his ear could not just disappear.

The sound of the wind, the boisterous night beast, plus the cold air that pierced the skin made Nice unable to sleep. The young man played a flashlight while occasionally peering out of the tent.

"Why my mentality is like this, I never feared them one bit. But why am I a coward now?"

"Come on, this is not your nature Good, you have to be brave, who are they, why should you be afraid?"

Good at gathering courage, he was curious about the dense aura, which made his mentality fall. Armed with a small flashlight that is bright enough to penetrate the thick fog, Good try to get out the tent.

"I have to make sure we're safe tonight.Nobody can terrorize Good, whoever they are."

Good to get out of the tent, point the flashlight around the forest. As expected, Nice didn't see anything in the fog. At exactly twelve o'clock in the night, Herly woke up from her sleep. The young man turned his head to the side, and did not find Good inside the tent.

"What's in the child's flashlight in the thick fog of the night. Now it's even twelve o'clock, still five hours away for dawn, you freakin' man."

Herly muttered softly as she came out from inside the tent. Lazily he stepped over to Bagus who was still directing his flashlight in various directions.

"What is Gus, what do you see, it's twelve o'clock now, aren't you sleepy?"

"You're really innocent, or just a strong temple Her, do you not remember at all all all the strange events that we have passed?"

"I'm surprised to hear you, Her, you've almost died twice, if it wasn't for me to wake you up, today, you've moved out of nature!"

Herly was reluctant to respond to Good's emotional remarks. He knew very well that Good was upset, because the young man had to be dragged into mystic matters, which should only Herly bear all this.

Herly casually lit the stove, then cooked water to make coffee. He added a dry twig, so that the bonfire would not be extinguished.

After the coffee he brewed was ready, Herly offered a cup of coffee to Bagus, then invited his friend, to sit by the fireplace so that their bodies were warmer, and could chat more calmly.

"I'm sorry Gus, not that I don't remember everything that happened bro. I remember everything. Even from the beginning of events, ever since I made this decision."

"What has happened to us, makes me surrender and surrender my friend."

"Honestly, deep down, I'm actually afraid I'll fail to do the job."

"You know, what do I see behind that dense fog now?"

"I'm sure you feel the same way. The dark aura that enveloped this place, made me depressed."

"Just behind you now, inside that dense fog, they stood all the way, with red eyes staring furiously at us."

Nice to be surprised, his reflexes looked back. And sure enough, there were several silhouettes of people within the dense fog, who were standing staring intently at them. Slowly Good turned his face, then looked down while deep in his heart.

"Why didn't I see it, were we already in the village area that was cursed?"

Good to take a deep breath, he rose to gulp his coffee then went to the tent leaving Herly who was still sitting still while still sipping his coffee.

That night felt very long for them, Herly went into the tent, and saw Good falling asleep in a sitting position. Very careful Herly laid the body of his friend, then opened the spell sheet given by Mbah Anom.

Although laid out in brick Herly still trying to read the mantra written with ancient Javanese script. He was lucky, because his romance often taught Javanese culture, although he understood, Herly did not have the slightest interest to learn about their ancestral culture.

Slowly Herly spelled out the letter, and arranged it into a whole sentence. Slowly he can recite the mantra, then say the mantra, until the provision of times, until his heart becomes calm, and without him realizing the sky begins to light.

The morning sun begins to emit a cool golden yellow light in the eyes. The fog was thin, and the dew drops slowly disappeared. Herly immediately cooked the food as they would be ready to leave for the village in a moment.

It was good to start waking up from his sleep. The typical aroma of arabica coffee is brewed Herly, stinging the nose, until the young man immediately woke up, and sat cross-legged.

Good enough to keep silent inside the tent, while recovering his energy. The young man then scooped his face with mineral water, and looked at his watch.

Shortly after Good came out of the tent, he saw Herly sitting by the stove smiling at him.

"Sit here, Gus, it's coffee and our breakfast is ready. Even if it's just bread, eggs, and sausages, I think it'll be enough to prop up our stomachs until noon."

"Hopefully the village is not far from this forest, I want to immediately clear the issue of the will of the father as soon as Gus."

"Your ancestral village is beautiful, if only there was nothing threatening in that village, I would have lingered for a long time to enjoy this atmosphere."

Herly sighed, what she said was true. The landscape in their current position is indeed beautiful. The air was clean, no wonder that Nice wanted to stay in that place.

"It's seven o'clock over Gus, it's time to get back on the wander."

Herly's deramatic remarks made Nice chuckle. He takes over the wheel, while Herly reads the map.

Not long after the car's engine was heated, they rushed to continue the journey. Herly guided Bagus to the ancestral village, which had only been a bedtime story for Herly.

Meanwhile, on the same track, Angga and his entourage are being confused by the map. They were not sure they were on the right track, because the route in front of them was a dirt road, narrow, and almost covered in thick thickets.

"Mas Angga is sure this is the way, in front of which the road is getting narrower, is it possible that we can pass this path?"

"If you look at it again in front of the forest, cliffs, and canyons mas. There's no way there's a way through."

Angga looked back at the map the lawyer had given him, and he was sure they were on the right track, as per the map's instructions.

Om bandi then got off the car to make sure they were on the right track. Many times the man confirmed the image on the map, then compared it to the environmental conditions.

"What do you think, Bandi, is it true that we have gone the wrong way?"

"When I look at this map again, I'm sure we're on the right track. But I don't know om, I'm also confused, how can the path mumgkin be cut off, and even go to the forest?"

Angga was confused, he was sure that he did not misread the map, but in fact, they were all trapped in the middle of a tight forest.

"It could be an old route, and it's no longer used. But let's make sure first, because if this line is right, Herly must have crossed it."

Om Bandi keeps going far ahead. While slashing through some twigs, and weeds that covered part of the path, the man searched for traces on the path that led them further into the forest.

"It's weird, we should be on the right track, but this trail can't be passed by the car."

"But wait a minute, the more here, the wider the road. Right, these are old car tires, which means they're passing through here too, but which side?"

"If we keep breaking through, it won't be possible, this shrub is too tall, and the trees are also tightly blocking us."

"Then how can there be a car tire trail right in the middle of the lane that seems deadlocked?"

"Something seems wrong in this forest. I'd better ask for a lead, so we don't get misled and that's the forest."

Om Bandi then sat on the ground and closed his eyes. Suddenly he saw a car driven by Good through the forest and had to spend the night.

After getting the view of the om Bandi then ran further away leaving the car, and he really found the former campfire that had just extinguished.

"It's not wrong, they have indeed passed this path. I'm sure the tire tracks belong to their cars."

Om Bandi found traces of Herly in the forest. He began to believe that someone was deliberately covering their vision.

"What about you, are we really lost in this forest?"

"No No, we are on the right track, but from here we must be extra careful. This forest is filled with magic, it seems like someone has purposely sealed this place."

"Perhaps, there are creatures who do not want the village found by others. Whatever the motive, it must be an illusion to keep people from getting to the village."

"You hold this dagger ngga, om will try to eliminate the optical illusion that covers the forest."

Om Bandi sat down cross-legged, then closed his eyes. Nearby Angga stood watching the surroundings. With a kris drawn in his hand, Angga tried not to anyone bother about Bandi.

While Ryo, Jaka, and Yono, they remained waiting in the car with anxious feelings. Everyone started to feel something strange in the forest, but they could not leave, because Angga, and Om Bandi were quite far from their car position.
