CHAPTER 2
"….Daddy?"
I could see a brunette man in his late twenties reading a book.
“...Daddy-, no...Daddy?”
Green eyes that looked like me were looking at me.
“What's up, Tia?”
When I heard a voice I clearly remembered, I had goosebumps in my arms.
What, is this real?
The smell of books and the atmosphere of the library were too obvious to be considered a mere memory before dying.
I tried to figure out the situation by blinking a few times.
Why am I suddenly standing in the library of the mansion, even though I am waiting for my death from being hit by a train?
Why are bookshelves so big and why are desks so high?
“Tia?”
When was the last time someone called me lovingly?
I felt like I was about to cry when I saw those familiar green eyes.
My father is the young man I remember in my memory.
“Tia, are you okay?”
I don't know what's going on, but first I have to get out of this place.
"Wait a minute. Problem is, can I go to my room?”
My father, who had tilted his head, gave me a nod while closing his eyes in relief.
“Yes, you can. Do you want me to come with you?”
“T-no! I can go alone!”
"Ha ha's. You are more energetic today. Then please leave carefully. ”
"Yes. Dad, I'll be right back. Stay here for a minute!”
Saying that, I started running.
As I looked around at the library while running, it seemed to still maintain its old look.
It was an appearance that had existed before I became a librarian and changed it efficiently.
It's weird! Very strange!
As I ran out of the library, a familiar yet unfamiliar passageway greeted me.
My room was too far away, so I entered a random room because the door was open.
A room with a single bed and simple furniture looked like it didn't belong to anyone.
I thought it was a guest room, but it doesn't matter now.
It was impossible to count the number of empty rooms in the mansion, to the point that it almost looked like a village.
"Mirror! Yes, mirror!”
Fortunately, I was able to find a full-size mirror placed in the corner of the room.
It doesn't seem far enough. But strangely enough, I had to take a few steps to achieve it.
And as I stood in front of the mirror, I could see why.
“Why am I so small?!”
My body was very small, and could not even fill a third of the full-size mirrors made to fit an adult's height.
Looking down, I could see two small hands that looked like maple leaves, a baby belly and a pair of small legs.
“How old am I now?”
I can't ask anyone. After thinking for a moment, I hurriedly lifted the end of the skirt I was wearing.
"It was my eighth birthday when I fell and injured myself!"
There was a time when I was playing in the park and I ended up scratching my knees on the rocks. The scar was so big that it was still there even when I was 25.
"No. No scar.”
His knees looked smooth with no signs of injury.
“Then I am not yet eight years old ..”
I looked in the mirror once again, but my appearance as a child remained unchanged.
Although I just had an accident and opened my eyes, I was surprised to see no injuries on my body– but if I really talked about what was more shocking, I was surprised, then it is a fact that I go back in time.
Even if I have experienced reincarnation after death, it is not easy to accept.
This is the first time I have experienced a setback.
My legs were shaking, so I sat on the bed next to me.
But being so short is not easy either.
The view of the Lombardi mansion was barely visible from the window due to my small height.
“I really go back to the past.”
I murmured as I saw a huge spruce tree towering in the garden.
These are the trees that were cut down when my first uncle Vieze became ruler.
He has said that it is for landscaping purposes but it is quite clear that he simply does not want to see the trees that my grandfather cherished.
However, it was later discovered that the trees were the ones the first emperor offered to celebrate the completion of the mansion.
He was referred to as the eldest, but the man referred to as God did not even know about the importance of those trees to the family.
“Vieze Stupid.”
I don't know what grandfather thought but Vieze was never fit to be a master.
But in that respect, even my younger uncle Laurel is not qualified.
If Vieze is a man with narrow and intolerant views, his sister Laurel is like a loyal dog who always moves as her brother ordered.
If anyone is capable, it's my father, Gallahan.
Although he was too wise and somewhat fragile, he was a highly educated person who wanted to go to the academy for higher education.
But my father had died early, so there were not many options left….
Waita minute.
“My father....can he be saved?”
My father had died of illness shortly before my eleventh birthday.
Back then, there was no cure, so I couldn't do anything about it, but just a few years later, I vividly remembered the news that a doctor had found a cure.
"I can save my father!"
My whole body was trembling with excitement.
My eyes were hot, and tears were dripping down my face.
You don't have to lose your father.
He can be saved.
You don't have to see your father die in such a painful way at such a young age.
And soon, another consciousness came.
“Then can't I protect the Lombardi family?”
I jumped out of my seat and walked towards the window.
From the library, views of Lombardi's large four-story main building and some of the buildings built around it can be seen at a glance.
I could also see the guests, servants, and other men working in the mansion.
None of this is anymore.
In my memory, I could see the imperial knights closing the door of the empty house before my eyes.
"First of all, I have to stop Vieze from becoming a Lord."
As the next Lord, it was his judgment to support the first prince at that time.
Rabini Angenas, mother of the first prince and queen of the current Kingdom of Lamburgh was also a cousin of Vieze's wife, Seral.
With such a relationship, it was inevitable that they would be inclined to support his son for the position of the next crown prince.
The first prince was the first to be unable to deal with such great power and responsibility and moreover, Emperor Jovanes himself was never a foolish king.
It was Vieze who did not understand his own thoughts and ended up supporting the first prince.
If only you hadn't publicly expressed your support.
No, you even tried to blackmail and hurt the second prince!
Otherwise, Lombardi would have remained safe.
Then, I thought I would try and persuade Vieze, but soon, I realized it would not work.
Had he been a man who could be persuaded so easily, he would not have destroyed such a family in such a short amount of time.
If so, it would mean someone else who should be his master.
[I will leave this family to you.].
I remember how my grandfather always said that while sighing out of habit.
“I... Should I try?”
I laughed because it sounded like I was out to catch a cloud.(1)
While I had helped my grandfather and practically taken over the family affairs, it was not just once or twice that I thought that I would rather be master than Vieze because he kept ruining all my hard-earned efforts.
Actually, whatever I do, I'm sure I'll be better than my uncle.
“At least I won't make that mistake against the second prince. Then our family will be safe. I know for a fact that the second prince will remain emperor..”.
If so, how about I put the second prince in line first?
Wouldn't it benefit Lombardi if we were close?
Not only that. I have memories of what will happen for at least the next 20 years.
If I can make good use of the knowledge I have, I can make the Lombard family stronger.
I can protect my dear family with my own hands.
Evidently.
"Let's do it."
It was a family that would be ruined if left unchecked.
Hundreds of years of rule would be tragically destroyed.
I can't let that happen to Lombardi.
"I'll be a god."
Or I could ask my father to replace my grandfather.
It can't be Vieze's first uncle or Laurel's second uncle.
"Then, for now...."
I leaned back on the bed and organized my thoughts a little more.
"Mr Gallahan has received a call from God, so he goes to the office, Miss."
When I returned to the library, the place my father was sitting in had been neatly arranged and this is what the librarian told me.
Old librarian whose hair is bleached, Brochle.
It was only after Brochle resigned from his job due to illness that I started working at the library.
He was originally a renowned professor at the academy, but later started working for Lombardi.
"Grandfather's library."
If that was my true age, it would sound very foolish to say that to Brochle, who was once a professor, but what do you think? I'm a child now.
"Please lend me a book."
"What kind of book do you want?"
When I said the title of the book, Brochle looked dumbfounded.
"Concidentally, is this something that Mr. Gallahan asked for?"
"No. I want to see it."
I understand why Brochle seemed surprised. But I waited confidently, not avoiding her eyes that were practically staring at me.
This is the book I wanted to read the most before I got hit by a train.
However, it was so precious and expensive that in the end, I could never read it.
After a while, I left the library with a fairly heavy book in my hand.
"I'll go near the office and wait while reading a book."
I had asked someone a while ago and found that today was the third day of the week.
It had been a long-standing habit of grandfathers to have a brief meeting with his 3 sons and 1 daughter on the third day.
But the times will be different every time, so my father and his brothers will have to stay in the mansion all day and wait for the call of grandfather.
Nevertheless, no one could express their dissatisfaction towards him.
Because in this Lombardi mansion, grandfather power is absolute.
When I walked alone, I found the main building and was able to stand in the hallway in front of the office.
It was a place I used to visit a lot when I helped my grandfather with his work.
From the point of view of a child, it looks a bit different.
I wanted to take a closer look at the inside of the main building but I had to rest by the window.
The distance from the library to this place is too far considering my short stature.
Moreover, I can feel my child's body weak and easily tired.
Only
And then, when I was thinking of taking a nap soon,
"Hey, Halfblood."
I heard a bad boy calling me.
