Indigo Children Diary

Indigo Children Diary
Behind Death

Dear Diary's,

Death is not as scary as people's stories. I saw them gathered and happy.

I was really surprised to see someone who was now behind Bang Ganjar. The woman smiled at me, but clearly her face was so pale. My eyes were perfectly rounded to ensure that I was not dreaming. And the sight before me right now is real.

"Mr ... Ma's... " Call me softly with a blank look.

"What's the Kalista?" My mom asked me.

I kept quiet because I was still surprised by what I saw at the moment. Mama pointed to align our faces, while holding both of my shoulders. He asked and confirmed my situation.

"What's the Kalista?" Ask mama.

"Are you okay?" Further.

"Nope ...."

My first glance forward, now I turn to look at my mother.

"Ma... There's Aunt Ria." I said lirih.

"Where?" Mama looked back and forth looking for what I meant.

"Nobody is." Mom said then.

"That's ma ... Behind brother." I pointed towards Bang Ganjar.

"Nobody ah.. Don't play Kalista." She whispered so that others would not listen.

"But ma ...."

"Stt ..." Mama put her index finger in front of my mouth.

I frowned, too, because my mother ignored what I saw. While others still pray near the tomb of Aunt Ria. I still confirm the figure. It turned out that behind Aunt Ria was a man and a child who seemed to be waiting for her.

It's real what I'm seeing right now. Yeah, behind Aunt Ria there's Om Yudi. Along with a boy whose face is very similar to Bang Ganjar. They both wear white clothes.

"Who is he?" I asked in my heart.

"Kok looks a lot like Bang Ganjar?"

"And why is Om Yudi here too?"

Those questions came to my mind. Fulfill my mind at that moment. Suddenly, I thought about Mike's words. I am an indigo. Maybe I'm the only one here who can see them.

"Oh yeah, I forgot Mike's words." My inner.

"It's only right that you don't see Auntie Ria."

We were in that tomb long enough. Until it does not feel the heat of the sun increasingly sting our skin. Papa took us all back home.

"Yuk yuk nak." Take papa while holding Bang Ganjar's shoulder.

"We go home. We'll be here again tomorrow."

Papa helped Bang Ganjar stand up from his initial position squatting near the gravestone. Bang Ganjar led by papa. We followed papa from behind. When Bang Ganjar was taken by papa to stay away. At that time, Auntie Ria stepped back and approached Om Yudi and the boy. He smiled at me. And I returned her smile.

"Your cysts why smile?" Ask mama.

"The maid of honor." Answer's short.

It was as if Aunt Ria, Om Yudi, and the boy were waving to me. As a farewell and goodbye. They all smiled at me. I vaguely heard something.

"Titip Ganjar ya."

"We're happy here."

Hearing that I came back to see. Convincing whether it was a genuine voice or just a hallucination. I looked at Aunt Ria again and she nodded.

"That's the original message." My mind and I nodded towards Aunt Ria.

We started leaving the cemetery. Aunt Ria, Om Yudi, and the boy waved. As if we were letting go.

**

Tonight Mike and I are back on the balcony. I felt a very empty night, after a day full of tears. Deep sadness still lingers in my extended family.

"Mikes. Why do people who have died still come to earth?" I asked in the middle of the void that night.

Mike looked at me deeply and sharply. I became uncomfortable and unwell. Whether my question offended him.

"I'm sorry Mike." My words apologise.

"Are you mad at me for my question?"

Before answering Mike was silent for a moment. He stared at the sky tonight which was covered in black clouds.

"The dead who remain on earth are a trap or a choice." He said with a blank look.

"meaning?" I nodded as if thinking seriously.

"Then if you're a trap or a choice?" I'm flabbergasted.

Soon I may close my mouth with my palm. As if to retract my words that just said. I knew that stupid question would offend Mike.

"Mike I'm sorry." I'm lirih.

"For what?" Ask Mike cuek.

"On my question just now. It must have offended you." I'll just guess.

Mike smiled cynically at my apology. It seems like he is really offended. I feel so guilty.

"Just calm. Your question is natural." An unexpected answer came out of his mouth.

"I'm still on earth because it's my choice. And if you ask me what the reason is. I'm sorry I can't say it." Mike continues.

"All right Mike. Thank you for answering my stupid question, hehe."

I'm glad Mike wasn't mad at me.

"Mike can I ask you something more?"

"What?"

"Last noon at Aunt Ria's funeral she delivered a message to me and waved. Is that really the Aunt Ria I know or some other creature?"

"That's right your aunt."

"Then is it true that she was with him also Om Yudi, her husband Aunt Ria?"

Mike answered my question by nodding his head.

"Who is that boy then?" I keep asking.

Honestly, there are still a lot of questions in my brain about death.

"Just ask your mom or your family. Who's the little boy." Mike Yell.

"Maybe he's waiting for the old man he's been waiting for to get together to nature."

"Huh? Can it be like that?" Ask wonder.

"It can be."

I tilted my position towards Mike. It is like a child being read a fairy tale by his parents. I wish Mike could break my curiosity.

"The deceased person leaves his physical body, his life is lost to death and his spirit or soul will evolve." Mike began to explain.

"When a person dies, his life is detached from his physical body. And that physical body will be buried. While his soul will always live and continue to evolve."

"Huh? Evolution? What's evolution Mike?" I'm getting confused.

"The story will be very long. Allow time to help you explain the secrets of this life Kalista. Including the evolution of the soul."

"Hehe." I laughed and scratched my non-itchy head.

Why every time I talk to Mike I'm stupid.

"Then what kind of thing did I see at the funeral?"

"That's the spirit of your aunt Kalista."

"Oh so they wait for each other huh? Between Om Yudi and Aunt Ria, and the boy."

"Maybe they're waiting for each other."

"Is that what Mike is like?"

"There can be a business, a promise or even a grudge left on earth. Then the spirit can be trapped or choose to stay on earth until his affairs, promises or grudges have been completed."

"Oh so, Mike."

Mike also nodded.

"For whom is the boy. You better ask your parents or your extended family. Maybe it has something to do with your aunt and your om." Mike's message to Kalista.

"All right Mike." I also smiled because I solved the puzzle of the figure who met me this afternoon at the funeral of Aunt Ria.
