Insect Ruler
18.

“Ratuku,” exclaim Yuji from the edge of the forest, “do we need more wood?”

Ryuu who had regained his energy after giving birth, he turned his head and saw him staggering under a large pile of broken logs and branches.

Yuji who has six arms is very useful, although two of them do not have a proper hand-held tool like a hand.

“I think that's enough,” he replied as he approached her, taking a quick look at what they've collected so far.

Yuji had adapted quite well and the two of them had even started to develop a routine about a day since he woke up. He was finally able to sleep soundly while he was awake, then switch with him to watch for monsters or other dangers while he slept. They even caught another rabbit, who gave them a good breakfast.

“I'm not so sure what we should do with all this, Ratuku.” Yuji admitted, stretching his upper arm and breaking the rabbit's neck after he put down his pile.

“Let's add to that,” answers. “we need some kind of shelter. It hasn't rained yet, but it's just a matter of time.”

Ryuu looked up at the sky in frustration. Clouds gather in the north. It might even rain today.

“We better build it in the forest, so we can shelter in the trees,” his advice. “there is a high chance we will fight back Strong beast monsters like leopards we fought before, right?”

“That's what I think, yeah. Too bad we didn't find another cave, so we didn't need much work.” He sighed. “Alright, let's start.”

As it turns out, building a simple shelter is not difficult. They used larger, stronger logs to form the basic structure, then added small stems and some large leaves that they found.

Ryuu used a lot of vines to tie everything up. He had a vague impression of building techniques that used mud, perhaps straw, and woven logs to make walls, though that was not very useful.

He knew his limits, and started with a shelter that looked like a small half-cylinder built on a thick tree trunk. It should be enough to hold them both. It is not necessary to have a lot of space, just give them protection from bad weather.

Not that they have property that needs to be protected.

“After this is done, we should start building a decent Building,” grumbled. “Or at least something close to that. Even if it's just a hut. I guess it would be better if we wait until we have some Workers.”

Yuji looked up then nodded. “That means you intend to continue leveling up, my queen?”

"of course. Hopefully there are enough little monsters around to push us both up a few levels.” Ryuu shook his head. “We should probably focus on that once we're done here.”

The other eggs are still in development, and Ryuu is upset by the workings of the system to improve his army. Because if Ryuu wants to make eggs again, he must endure the tremendous pain back when he gave birth to the egg. After all He may not have the ability to care for many of them, but it is still his body and for the growth of his nest.

They built shelters near the trees, so they kept as close a distance as possible to the fireplace and the eggs. Later, Ryuu can ask Yuji to cut down some more tree branches to be better protected from wind and rain.

After they were done, he stepped back to take their jobs.

Yuji sees the food stock is depleted, he does not want his queen to starve: he:

Yuji asks permission from the queen. “Ratuku, I want to go to the river, and maybe collect more food on the way home. Can you let me go?"

"... Sure oes. " Ryuu gave her a triumphant smile, finally she was able to escape the yuji's overprotective existence to her.

Yuji bowed his head respectfully to ryuu, then he rushed off towards the river leaving ryuu alone, alone,

When finished, Ryuu collects the new firewood, then checks the eggs again. Her growth was extremely fast, as far as she knew, equal to the growth speed of Yuji's eggs. Right now, the egg looked bigger than any bird egg he expected to see. Although in this world that might have a giant monster bird, maybe it doesn't mean much.

Yuji was still out to gather groceries, so ryuu slowly twisted the surroundings around their campground, setting up some new traps on the other side of the hill.

He stopped when he reached the cave system where he entered the world, checking the entrance. The door was still tightly shut, and the door still did not react at all to his attempt to enter. He shook his hand and continued.

When Yuji had still not returned, ryuu became a little worried. He was considering chasing after her, but he did not know exactly which path he had taken. After all, he might just want some alone time. They have been together almost endlessly since Yuji was born, and with the drive to be loyal that he feels, he may need some space.

Still, after he waited for the yuji for about half an hour to pass, Ryuu's heart was unsettled and full of worry to his son, Yuji.

Ryuu tried to close his eyes. He just wanted to check it out as soon as possible. So he focused on that feeling of his Son that he had gotten before, and tried to see if he could sense something.

Soon, he realized that he had nothing to worry about. Their thoughts were clearly still connected, and the small distance between them would not even damage the relationship. He could determine Yuji's location quite well, or at least his position and distance from him.

Quickly coming to his mind to get more information, he realized that he was heading back to the camp, carrying a small animal.

"Thank God he's okay.... What is this feeling, by the way? Is this the instinct of a mother to worry her child....? I guess.. Yeah..."

Ryuu sighed then turned his attention to one of his projects. He started trying to carve something out of a piece of wood, although the process was slow. The stone was actually not good enough for such work, and its claws were no match for it either.

A few minutes later, he felt Yuji's presence growing closer. And sure enough, Yuji dashed quickly towards ryuu with a grin on his face, raising his catch to show it to her with happiness emanating on her monster face: the:

“Mother! Mama! Mama! I finally leveled up, mom! ” Shouted yuji full of excitement.

Ryuu who sees his Son Yuji acting like a child before him, smiles warmly at his son and inexplicably warms his heart to see the happiness of yuji:

Tilting his head with a smile, Ryuu said “Oh Really? Thank goodness then. Ah by the way Is that the monster that your hand holds?” He tried to focus on it, but the System did not give him anything.

“Mother, System tells me that it is ‘Cat Forest’.” then yuji lower it to the ground. “I guess it stopped after the monster died. Maybe because he's not a monster anymore?”

Ryuu shook his head. “There may be a 'Identification' or 'Analysis' skill that we can get. Anyway, what happened?”

Yuji scratched his nose. “Ah, Mother. I managed to find her on the way home from the river. It was a pretty aggressive little thing. The animal hit me with a few magic spikes, but my armour-covered body was able to withstand most of those spikes, and I got it with my sword arm.”

Ryuu could listen to his battle story that was a bit chaotic without commanding himself. “Fiu...... I don't want to hear this anymore, and please next time don't fight monsters alone,” he said.

Yuji lowered his head, but he could still see his disappointed expression. “I'm sorry, my queen. That won't happen again.”

Ryuu who looked at Yuji like a frightened little boy looked at his parents again smiling. Then he came up to her and pinched the base of her nose and shook her head.

"Ouch... Pain, mom...!"

"Haha... Ah, there is no need to be sad. At least you're now Level 2, that's a good thing. We can eat the animal's meat for dinner tonight. Besides you look happy to have raised your level to 2?”

At that instant Yuji became bright again. “You're right, mom. Thanks to riding Lv 2. My [Fake] passive skill is increasing! I guess the System automatically allocates stat points. It also allows me to choose the ability. Give me a minute. Mother.”
