“Wah. That's good,” Praise Ryuu. “Your overall statistics increased by a few points. Especially your ATK increased by 3 points than before, it means you are getting stronger! Hmm maybe because your Class is a warrior maybe your DEF increase is higher than your ATK. Maybe things will be different in the future, so we'll see. By the way what capabilities does the system offer you?”
Yuji seemed to be staring into space as he might access another System window. "Just a little. Here it is called the CLASS Skills. I can get access to 'Soldier Attack', 'Power for the Nest', or 'Last Fort'.” He frowned as his eyes glanced side to side. “It looks like [Charge] is a movement ability that gives me a short-term improvement on my stats, and Strength is a direct upgrade to a varied ATK based on the other nest warriors in the mother group, and maybe give a bonus effect. [Wrath] only works if I'm the only Warrior fighter around, though, it increases my ATK and DEF and basically makes me immune to fatigue or effects that will hinder my thoughts or movements.”
Sounds interesting. “Does the description provide more details?”
“No, I'm sorry, mother. The description is quite vague not clear.” Yuji looked at her, then asked “Mother. Which one should I take?”
“Umm.... Your decision. I won't force you to take a Skill you don't want.”
Yuji frowned. "really? mother.but I want to be as useful as I can for you and your lair, and I'm not sure what the best skill choice is right now. I guess if mom chooses her for me, I'll get stronger. ”
Ryuu replied, "Not so. In general it's better if you don't rely on me to make decisions or micromanage everything. Moreover, getting others to acquire special skills and forcing them to take an inappropriate path would not work in the long run. But if you want my opinion, I can still give you tip.” Ryuu frowned while thinking.
“Everything sounds pretty good, especially if this is a basic skill. Of course, right now I don't have a lot of troops in the nest, so it might not be a good choice. Hm... Those few skills of your choice sound good, but with our current situation, that Last Fortress could be a real savior. Even later, there may still be situations where it can be applied. It will probably be more situational, long-term, but we have to persevere to achieve it first.”
Yuji nodded seriously. "Thank you, Queen. Then I will select the latter option, [Wrath].”
"good. I wonder if skill choice is affected by our situation, or does everyone get those initial options?”
"You're right." Ryuu turned around to throw a new block of wood into the fire. They didn't need it much during the day, but he preferred to keep it on.
Their situation is getting better. Surprisingly, it made him nervous. They still had not seen much of the world they lived in.
Ryuu barely knew what he wanted to do, and without more information on what might be done, making a detailed plan would be futile. There must be a way to find out what happened to him, but how?
Then Yuji stood up and walked away to take care of his hunted Animals with his mother's permission, while Ryuu sat on a pile of leaves, gazing into the fire and thinking.
On its journey, building an actual nest has gone from a future possibility to a destination. Perhaps it was the instinct of her Nest Queen who was working.
And that doesn't mean the human part of him disagrees. Larger nests mean more power. Alone in a foreign land with only friends and equipment he could make himself, who wouldn't use the advantages they had and try to develop their strength? Not to mention having a resemblance to civilization would be fun. He would kill for the sake of a decent toilet and a soft bed, not to mention things like electricity.
“Mother?” Yuji approached hesitantly, interrupting his reflection. “Is there anything else I can do for you?”
"NO. I think we're done with everything I planned today.” He looked up at the sky, observing the cloud cover. It seemed like they were still lucky and spared the rain.
Yuni nodded, then started pacing slowly behind the campfire. A few minutes later, he stopped again. “ Are you sure, mom? anything I can do for you?”
Ryuu was about to tell him to relax, then hesitated. “Actually, you can help me with my wings, or whatever it is. I can't clean it without the help of someone else, and there's no good way to clear the area, other than your help. ”
"Of course, Mother!" Yuji jumped up to fetch some water, into the bag of water they finally made, and some soft leaves.
Ryuu smiled slightly. He thought they could always refill the water later. Then he stood up and tried to stretch out what was passing through the middle of his body.
Yuji was very careful. Obviously he wasn't really ready for it and didn't know what to do, but Ryuu still appreciated it. He immediately removed some of the dried dirt, and he finally felt a gentle breeze at something he had not noticed before.
After a while, he turned his head as much as he could and flexed the muscles he had never used before. This time, her body's response was much better, and ryuu actually saw it more clearly this time.
It seemed that he did have wings, which were usually folded tightly around his body under some sort of protective covering extending from the limbs that bound him. The wings are hairless and do not look like insect wings. If fully opened, the size will be much larger than the more rigid parts suggested.
Ryuu slightly shivered and sighed involuntarily as he moved his wings. “Ahh!” he said after a while, “I don't think I can fly with this yet, at least not yet.”
Ryuu tried to feel his wings constantly, and even though he sensed his strength, it was clear it would not be enough to lift him up. He could not even make full wing movements.
“Mother looks so cool!” yuji commented with sparkling eyes.
Ryuu smiled at him. “Thank you.” Then he carefully folded it back into his body. He has to help him put everything in the right position.
Ryuu sat down again, moving a finger at his side. “It looks like my wings are still in the developing stage. So I can use it in full. I can't wait to use it.”
He already knew that it would probably make a headache, but if one day he could really fly with his own magic, his wings would be a useless decoration.
