"Who is that?"ask Armand. From the tone of his voice clearly he did not like the presence of foreign men around Salma.
"That's Mr. Iwan my boss used to be at the television station, did you forget?" ask Salma wonder. But he seems to have forgotten, because Armand never cared about everything that happened in his life.
"Would he come?" Armand looked dislikefully at Mr. Iwan who began to step into the house.
"Excuse me, sorry am I interrupting?" said Mr. Iwan right on the doorstep of the house.
"Yes, we're having a family event" Armand said quickly.
"No, Mr. Iwan. Please come in, my ex-husband and ex-mother-in-law are just visiting and soon they will be home" Salma said firmly. He deliberately emphasized the former word to put a firm boundary between him and Armand. The words made Armand and his mother raise their eyes because they felt expelled, but both were unable to make a sound because there was Mr. Iwan who had an aura of leadership there.
"All right." Mr. Iwan stepped in and took his place near Salma, "I have a little need with Salma, can I have some time?" said Mr. Iwan when Armand and his mother still survive in his place.
"We're home, Mom."
"Attep, Mand." Armand's mother still isn't willing to leave Salma's sister's house.
"Now, Mom. We still have plenty of time to meet Cakra and Candra" Armand said firmly. His pride felt disturbed by the view of Mr. Iwan who seemed to drive him away.
"Salma, I came straight here after I heard from Pak Asa. What's the matter, Salma?" asked Mr. Iwan after Armand and his mother relented and went home.
"What did Pak Asa say, sir? I'm fine" Salma said as she watched her twin sons play on television.
"I've known you since you weren't married, your eyes can't lie, Salma."
"I'm right it's okay, sir. Just a small problem," said Salma lirih.
"Looking at the attitude of your ex-husband and his mother, I'm sure it's not just a small matter for you Salma. Tell me, we haven't known each other for a year or two."
"What should I tell you, sir," Salma said in frustration as she rubbed her face. He felt afraid why Pak Asa and Pak Iwan entered into the circle of his problems.
"Your ex-husband and his mother bother you?"
"They just looked at Cakra and Candra" Salma said as she cast her gaze at the twins. He wanted to hide the facts from his former boss.
"Sir Asa heard you shout, Salma. A Grandma who visits her granddaughter will not have a sour face like that."
"They bother you?" urged Mr. Iwan. Salma breathed a sigh of anger as if caught off guard, "Salma, if they have made you uncomfortable, you have to determine the attitude," said Mr. Iwan slowly.
"Mas Armand wants to come back" said Salma.
"You still love?"
"Not with what he's done to me and the kids." Salma's voice shook withstanding emotions.
"Keep away, Salma if indeed their existence has disturbed you."
"Is it my sin to keep children away from Father and grandmother?" Losing her parents' affection, Salma did not want it to happen to her two children.
"You didn't keep them away from their father and grandmother, but you saved them."
Salma looked straight at Mr. Iwan. The man he had considered as his father's successor. He tried to understand the meaning of the word man before the age of 60 years, and ascertain whether his thoughts are the same as those in the mind of Mr. Iwan.
"Where should I go? I have no place but here. They'll be here easily. To be honest, I'm afraid of Cakra and Candra they took."
"It's better if you think carefully about the Forced offer."
"Forced Offer? What does it mean to have a career in Jakarta? I'm not ready, sir." Salma shook her head. Living in a foreign big city is not in the planning.
"When do you wait to be able to, Salma? Until your two sons escape from your arms?" urged Mr. Iwan.
"Sir!" Salma covered her face with both palms. Imagine his two children fall into the care of Armand alone he could not, especially if it happened maybe he would be crazy.
"Think, Salma. If it is not for your good, at least for the good and safety of Cakra and Candra" said Mr. Iwan.
The last sentence closed their conversation. Mr. Iwan no longer continues to talk about his career in Jakarta, he did not have the heart to see Salma who was increasingly depressed by the topic entrusted by Angkasa, his best friend.
