It's been three days Ben, Rose and Baz have been there, at Victor's house. And all that time, Mirabel has not managed to find the right trick to get her close or even get the master, who is none other than Rose's lover.

Amongst all the cheerfulness at the dinner table, Mirabel stared cunningly at Ben and Rose in turn.
