Gibran felt even sadder when he saw the usually cheerful and teasing face that now looks pale.

Karren's head in a bandage and a breathing apparatus attached to his nose made Gibran's heart crumble.

Gibran sat on the chair next to the patient's bed, his silent gaze staring at Karren's body and up to down.

Gibran still did not expect the woman who was babbling this morning like a parrot was now lying weakly without being able to look at him and say a word.

Instantly Gibran's hands clenched with eyes that stared intently as he could not see the nail clutches on Karren's neck.

He now knew what Sarah had done to his future wife. And Gibran was very disappointed in the woman he thought was his best friend.
