Darren's Fear

"Mom Arum, come with me for a minute." Darren's word after he accidentally woke her up.

Darren then left the room followed by Bu Arum. The two then chatted lightly about Siska's state.

"Mistress's situation is better. The fever has gone down. It was 4pm when I woke up and went back to sleep after eating and taking medicine, sir." Obviously Ms. Arum.

"What did the doctor say before?" Ask Darren.

"Mrs was exhausted, and there was no food intake the day before yesterday. Then the night before was too long outdoors, nor was it aware of any mosquitoes approaching the mistress." Clearly again. Ms. Arum was hesitant to explain this, but she could not cover everything from her Master.

Ms. Arum had been working with him since Darren was a teenager. Knows his nature and personality. Now he was transferred from the house to the house of Siska by himself. Fear is also actually because Siska was not noticed better by him yesterday.

Darren was stunned after hearing Bu Arum's explanation. Dengue fever, not because Siska does not eat but the fault that invites Siska out at night, right?

Now, he blames himself. Besides that night, Siska also didn't fill her stomach all day? Tired? It was his fault too, right, for forgetting to tell Siska.

"Master, the Doctor also said, be careful of the condition of the mistress, tonight it could be high fever again." Said Ms. Arum, who was immediately taken by Darren. He'll take care of her tonight.

The two entered the ward again. But Ms. Arum sleeps on the folding mattress she carries, now, because the Sofa will definitely be worn by Darren.

But Darren refused to be far from Siska, and he fell asleep sitting by Siska's bed, holding Siska's hand. Grasping it all night.

At 1 pm, as the doctor suspected, Siska again had a high fever. His body shivered, making the bed tremble. The sleeping Darren sat down at the side and grasped Siska's hand, instantly waking up from feeling movement.

Siska's hand, which Darren was holding, turned tightly. Making Darren close his lips, trying to calm down. Although his heart was worried.

Finally, Darren wakes up Bu Arum because he is confused about what to do. A small groan also came out from Siska's mouth, her body also did not stop shivering.

Ms. Arum who was ready, poured hot water from the flask, and compressed Siska's forehead. He also added a blanket to his body. While Darren was only busy looking at Siska with a worried look, and calmed her down even though it was not so useful.

"Mom Arum, why are you still shivering?" Darren asked with an anxious look. Both of his hands clasped Siska's hands tightly. "Call the Doctor or the Nurse take care of you." Said Darren, who was immediately embraced by Bu Arum, then left Darren.

"It hurts so much to see you like this... I'm sorry." Darren said regretfully. He should not have taken Siska dial outside at night long ago. Supposedly, Darren also did not forget to notify Siska even though it was just a text message on his phone. He should not have left him out.

"Ride, Uqi... Uni.. don't leave mother, no, mother doesn't want to be alone anymore, torse." Siska murmured softly, and slightly sobbed. Making Darren hold Siska's cheek reflex, the more worried because Siska was already in the delirious stage. Not very well.

"Hold on in a minute, any minute... The doctor's coming soon." Darren was worried. His eyes looked at Siska in tears.

"Don't leave it. Don't want to be alone..." Siska muttered again making Darren answer his mutter. "Here, here, I'm not leaving you. I'm here, you're not alone." Darren said, already standing up and bringing his ears closer to Siska. Whispering calmed down, while rubbing his head.

"Come! Master!" Said Ms. Arum as she opened the door, she looked excited as soon as she returned.

Darren quickly stepped aside and let the guard doctor check on Siska's condition. "Please, doctor, my beloved looks tormented, help her calm down." Pinta Darren, Siska delirious and crying in her sleep, Darren inevitably also feel sad, and crowded. His eyes began to glaze over, asking the Doctor wholeheartedly.

"41 degrees!" The doctor was surprised. "Calm down, sir, I'll give him some medicine first. It's okay, don't worry, if he can get through tonight, tomorrow he'll be fine." Said the doctor, while injecting the drug on the infusion on Siska's hand.

"Why is that?" Darren asked in panic.

"The critical phase of dengue fever can begin between 3–7 days from the fever phase and last for 24–48 hours. But what happened to Miss Siska faster one day because her immune system is weak. But fortunately, you need to check in time. So, it can be handled well." Obviously Doctor. "Have been injected fever-relief drugs, although slow to help, but Miss Siska will not be as shivering as just now. The fever will drop 1 to 2 degrees tonight. Keep an eye on it." He then left after talking to Darren about calling him if his fever returned high.

After thanking her, Darren then shed his tears. Although not making a sound, but his tears spilled, right in the hands of Siska who was held by Darren.

Ms. Arum felt sad to see Darren. But he could only calm his master, about him having to be strong so that he could keep Siska during Siska's treatment.

Darren himself did not know about dengue fever. He knew very well this disease. Severe dengue occurs when blood vessels are damaged and leak, and the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in the bloodstream drops. This can lead to a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock), internal bleeding, organ failure, and even death if it is too late or not treated properly.

"Master, madam must be well. Master must be sure, madam must be strong." Said Ms. Arum while hugging Darren's shoulder several times. "Come, sir, calm yourself down, drink some warm water first." Said Ms. Arum later, she thrust a glass filled with warm water for Darren.

Darren nodded and received the water. With tears still pouring out, he drank, and gradually became calmer afterwards.

"Sorry, Mrs Arum. I'm troubling you again." Darren.

"It's my duty, sir. Rest, sir, let Ms. Arum take care of the madam now." Said Ms. Arum but Darren refused. And Arum finally relented, letting Darren sit by Siska all night.

Darren never took his eyes off Siska. He continued to watch over her, not daring to even just close his eyes that already looked haggard, in need of rest. Darren was only afraid, if he distracted him for a moment, Siska would return in pain just like before.
