Adiba stirred his sweet sour shrimp slowly, his gaze blankly towards the pan in front of him. His focus disappears somewhere, all he thinks about is last night, where Arkan and Zaki argue over him. He kept asking what made Azka hate him so much and why Zaki insisted on protecting her.
'Did I make them fight? Did I destroy their friendship? Butwhy? Why would Zaki want to protect me? And why does Arkan hate me so much?'
Question after question kept spinning in his mind. He really did not understand what was going on between the two.
"Sister On"
Diba flinched and when turned to face the person who called him he accidentally nudged the glass bowl nearby.
"Astagfirullah"
"Gosh"
Diba immediately crouched down to clean up the mess he made.
"Sister sorry. I surprised you?"
Cindy immediately approached Diba and helped pick up the scattered fragments of the bowl.
"Sha"
"Agh"
"Good Brother"
Less careful, Diba's palm was scratched by a broken glass, and when he stepped back accidentally he stepped on a large enough bowl fragment.
"God, brother's hands and feet are bleeding"
Cindy hysterically saw blood from Diba's palms and feet. Diba carefully pulled the broken glass that stuck in his leg, making Cindy shudder in horror at the more blood coming out.
"What's wrong, it's just a small wound"
"You kidding? That must have been very painful"
Cindy really did not get out of thought with this foster sister. He remained calm despite the blood that came out of his body so much.
"Again why do you daydream? What did you think?"
"none. Can you get me a P3K?"
"alright. But I'll help you sit in the chair first?"
"No need, I can do it myself"
"Well brother wait a minute, I'll get you a P3K"
Diba nodded and Cindy ran to get P3K for him. Diba stood up and found the stove still burning, immediately he turned off the stove. He saw that the cooking he made was half-empty. Diba sighed, he cursed himself who was thinking too much about last night's events and now made him lose focus. Diba walked to fetch water with ice cubes to clean the wound and stop the bleeding.
Diba sat on the clean floor of the broken glass bowl, he began to clean his wound slowly. The wounds that he got deep enough on the soles of his feet and hands, deserved the blood that came out so much. Cindy came with a white box in her hand, she immediately approached Diba.
"Why are you sitting down?"
"If in a chair it will be difficult to treat the wound on the leg"
"Ah right too. Let me treat your wound"
"No need, I can do it myself. Compared to that, you have cereal for breakfast? My cooking's a charade"
Diba lowered his voice at the end of the sentence, he was really bad for Cindy.
"Sister, just calm down. I'll clean that up first. Brother finish treating the wound"
"Sorry to bother you. It's my fault for daydreaming when cooking"
"Of course not. It's all because I surprised you"
He was really grateful because Cindy was so good to him. Being in the middle of this family became something very happy for him. Apart from Arkan who hates him so much, Diba is really grateful to be able to meet and live among the family of his mother's best friend.
Diba wrapped the bandages on his feet and hands, he then cleaned the P3K box and the container used to clean the wound. He walked to the sink, coinciding with Cindy who also just finished washing the used cooking pans Diba.
"Let's just prepare breakfast only this cereal. brother prepare ready to go to school, I will also take a shower first"
Diba nodded, the two passed from the kitchen towards their respective rooms. Diba had a glance at the clock displayed on the wall upstairs. He walked to Arsen's room and knocked on the door to wake the owner like he had had said yesterday morning.
"Arsen, are you awake? It's 05:36 now"
Diba kept knocking on the door but did not open it by the owner.
"Arsen, are you inside?"
Once again Adiba called Arsen but there was no answer. When he was about to open the door to make sure, the door behind him opened making him turn around and undo his intention to enter Arsen's room.
"Whisper, Arsen doesn't exist. Just disturb"
"Sorry to interrupt"
Blams
Arkan closed the door loudly, without letting Diba finish his words. Diba sighed, Arkan's cold treatment really made him uncomfortable. But at least since he lived here Arkan stopped bullying him at school.
—
Diba walks over to Cindy who prepares a bowl and cereal for her third breakfast. Yesterday afternoon Cindy's parents went out of town on a job. And as long as they have no cooking business on the move on Cindy and Adiba, while cleaning the house is in the care of workers who come at 6 am and go home at 5 pm.
Diba joined Cindy and started breakfast, before long Arkan went down and sat down in front of Diba. He stared at the breakfast menu this morning which was just cereal.
"You didn't cook Cin?"
"I'm misfortune. And Diba's brother had an accident"
Arkan just silently did not respond, he started pouring cereal on the bowl and ate it without milk. Diba who already knows Arkan's habits is not surprised to see it.
After finishing breakfast, Arkan delivered Cindy to school by car, of course Diba who also went with the same car. There was no conversation between the three, Cindy who was busy with her phone in the back seat, Arkan who was focused on the streets, and Diba who was just staring out the front passenger window.
Cindy got out of the car after arriving at her school gate. After saying goodbye to Arkan and Diba, the girl who sat in the 2nd grade of the school was waltzing into the school with some friends.
"out"
Diba blinked looking at Arkan confused because too focused daydreaming made him not hear Arkan's words that sounded as a faint murmur in his ear.
"Get out, I don't want a car with a poor man like you"
Diba nodded and got out of the car he was riding in with Arkan. At least he knows a shortcut from here to his school. When the door had just closed the car door, Arkan immediately stepped on Gas and darted quickly leaving Diba who only sighed.
The girl walked down the lotto towards the shortcut she always went through to get to school.
"Aadiba"
Diba stopped his steps when he heard someone hear him. A meticulous motor stopped next to him, throwing a smile as it opened the glass of his helmet. Diba's calm face turned crisp when he found Delta before him.
"Sister El"
Diba squandered the hug of El who was still sitting on his bike and greeted the young man with pleasure.
"You how are you?"
Diba let go of his embrace still with his cleft smile.
"Well, where are you?"
"Bad brother. A few days not seeing you makes me miss my chicks"
El said as he pinched Diba's nose and pulled it slowly, leaving a red color there.
"Aihs brother El. But I don't miss you"
El pulled back Diba's cheek, making Diba stir to wipe his cheek.
"Why are you here?"
"Because I'm here"
"I mean why are you on this road?"
"Because I didn't go that way"
Tak
"Geez"
"The word of Amel is your new house opposite to the direction of your old house. So why are you here?"
"Oo it's because I'm tid-"
Tak
"Ais"
"Back you say 'because you're not there' then I'll snap your head using the English key"
Diba shows his grin while rubbing his forehead which is back to get a gift from El's finger.
"Sister El take me to school. Looks like I'm gonna be late"
"Get it"
Diba exclaimed cheerfully and went straight up on the bike. El shook his head at the behavior of his sister's best friend who always makes him anxious himself. The two were joking and occasionally laughed the entire way until they finally reached the front gate of Diba's school. Diba got off the bike, El reached into his backpack and gave Diba two notebooks.
"Why hands?"
El just realized that Diba's right hand was on the bandage
"Just scratched the broken glass when cleaning the manguk that broke because of me"
El shuffled Diba's hair. And of course get a quote from the owner.
"Eat it next time be careful. You sloppy"
"Dad iyah. Go already there. Soon the bell will ring"
"What does this have to do with me? You go to school why I should care about the school bell"
"Have brother gone. Bye"
"You threw me out, but you left"
El shook his head to see Diba who passed away while waving his hand. Diba's limping step and slightly dragging his left leg, made El frown curiously. What's wrong with that girl?
-
Diba walked towards Amel which was not far from the gate. He gave the book that El had left to him.
"Hey, what's wrong with your leg? You walking a limp?"
"Ah, just accidentally stepped on the broken glass"
"Your hand?"
"Strapped broken glass"
"Hurtful?"
"Little"
Amel just nodded while grimacing to imagine the wound that his best friend had, even he did not know how severe the wound was, he did not know, but as if he could feel pain and his linu saw the way Diba's path slightly dragged his feet.
"Here I hold"
Amel used to hold Diba's left hand to help him concentrate.
"Thank you"
Amel just scratched and smiled, both of them walking down the still crowded corridor. As usual, no one paid attention to the two until finally someone hit Diba from behind violently, making the girl sound forward apart from Amel and fall with her second hand as a pedestal.
Diba grimaced with pain in his palm that clashed violently with the floor. His knee also felt pain, which he believed would turn blue. And remember with all the students who have now looked at him. What else with Arkan there. Some whispers began to sound in his ears.
"*That girl again"
"The poor poor poor"
"Always looking for a cause"
"He's always looking for Arkan's attention"
"The fool never snapped*"
And a few other whispers that mostly cornered him.
Diba immediately tried to get up with the help of Amel. did not want to embarrass himself more, what else after hearing the name Arkan mentioned earlier. His suffering today will begin. Diba really did not in the least hope will no longer be a bully Arkan in school because he has lived one roof with him.
"Sorry brother"
Diba stared at a young man with boxed glasses framing a face that according to Diba is handsome even though it looks geeky because the clothes are buttoned up and neat hair typical of Nerd.
He nodded and slightly smiled at the young man who hit him with a pile of books now scattered on the floor. Even though Diba knew that the young man he was guessing was his little sister, he was afraid, not of him, but of Arkan standing next to him.
"You go"
The young man nodded and walked backwards following the command of the cold flat voice next to him.
"You! Get the book back and follow me"
Arkan stepped foot through Diba who immediately knelt down to tidy up the scattered books in Amel's aid of course. More than 10 books with different and quite thick titles are now in Diba's hands.
"Let me help you"
Amel was about to take some books from Diba's hand before the girl shifted her hand from Amel's presence.
"No need, I can take it myself"
"But it's heavy on, your hands and feet are hurting"
"It's okay. Than you got hit too"
"But Dib-"
"Don't worry too much about me Amel"
"But you always worry me"
Diba chuckles at Amel's ugly face. The few students who were still there were shocked to see Diba who chuckled lightly, a rare sight recalling the quiet Diba with his calm face. So beautiful to see the girl they knew because always so bullyan Arkan was smiling without burden, what else among the people of Adam who did not turn his gaze away from the face of Diba.
"Here you go, I have to go after her before she gets mad at me again"
Diba passed with the foot he forced to walk quickly following Arkan who was already far ahead of him. Slightly grimaced with pain in his legs and hands, but he still forced his way after Arkan who turned towards the library.
He put the book he brought on the guard's desk.
"I gave it all back"
Tasya, the library guard looked at Arkan and Diba who looked exhausted alternately.
Diba who felt bad was alone and passed from before the two.
"You don't pay attention or don't care about his steps like that?"
Tasya checked the book that Diba had brought earlier and his own notebook.
"14 books. It's not light"
"What care?"
Tasya looked up at Arkan from behind his thick glasses that answered him coldly. He's back checking the book on his desk now.
"Still with the problem first?"
"It's none of your business"
Tasya sighed to get a sacras answer from Arkan. He looked at Arkan who was standing before him without even tapping him.
"I remind you. He doesn't know what Arkan is, only because he has a face similar to 'He'. Didn't you see for yourself that his attitude and disposition are not the same as 'He'. They are different? Stop Arkan, before you regret everything"
Arkan snorted and stared intently at Tasya who was still staring at him calmly.
"Don't I tell you it's none of your business. Just take care of your business. Let me know if there's anything less later"
Arkan breezed away leaving the library with his long steps. Leaving behind Tasya who let out a long sigh stared at Arkan's departure.
"You just need to realize it Arkan"
