Little Do You Know

Little Do You Know
MUMMY

"Where have you been? You want to kill me, huh? It's been two days you've been saying. I couldn't find you at school, at the minimart, nor in the hospital. Do I have to spend the night at the hospital like now to see you? What the hell happened to you? What the hell are you thinking? You should have taken care of your mother. Why did you leave without telling anyone? Jesus, Diba, me and Delta almost died because of you"

Adiba blinked a few times. He tried to digest every word he caught from Amel's long and quick speech. Diba feels very sad if he hears everything. Now he even grimaced to see his chatty friend was panting heavily after talking long × wide × high ×wide overall. It feels like he is in conflict with the talent of his friend if only he did not see the situation now.

"You're worried about me?"

That was all his brain could understand, making Amel anxious himself. Amel clenched his hands and clenched them before Adiba's face, which was slightly shorter than his, Amel also clenched his teeth, while Diba grimaced his teeth.

"You.. sucks"

Diba is increasingly made to wonder, what else to see Amel who immediately went from before him after saying it sucks. What's wrong with her?. Diba gasped when he felt a chill on his cheek, the reflex he distanced his cheek and instantly turned his face away. When he saw a canned drink hanging in front of him, he tilted his face, then smiled when he found the handsome face of Delta blocked by the drink can in front of him, not left with his sweet smile. Diba grabbed the can which was immediately pulled back by Delta.

"I don't want to see this blood dripping with drink"

Delta handed the can of drink he had opened to Diba who was growing his smile. Adiba can't open his own can of drink if not then the jar will be hurt.

"Thank you brother"

El nodded and rattled Diba's hair, and the two sat down in the hospital's chair. Not long after, Amel came with a grocery bag containing some food in his hand. The three ate with joking joking and laughter, even they got a reprimand from some passing sisters.

El stopped his activities for a moment when he felt his phone vibrate. He answered the phone call while watching the two girls next to him laughing.

"Are you Riri's mother's family?"

"Who is this with? And what's up?"

"I am from the hospital where Ms. Riri was treated, I want to inform her that Ibu Riri is currently in critical condition. He just got taken to the ICU."

"Ba-good. I'm in the hospital right now. I'll be there soon"

Phone connection disconnected. El looked at the two girls who were also looking at him questioningly.

"We need to get to the ICU right now, your mom's in critical condition"

*****

Adiba stared blankly at the red earth mound before him. The flowers that he just finished sowing look fresh covering the withered flowers that he always sow 3 days later in a row. Almost 2 hours he had sat there daydreaming, not caring about the rain that began to hard in the morning like this. The sound of lightning was not enough to move the increasingly thin and melted body.

RIRI RIANITA'S. The name is on the white board at the end of the hump that marked it. A name that never goes away in the memory, mind, and heart of the beautiful girl. His smile, his anger, his worry, his cry, his firmness were always the memories Diba missed the most. Always, always want to repeat everything with the mother.

Slowly her tears rolled back down her pale cheeks. There was no final message or smile she saw for the last time before her mother closed her eyes. If only Diba knew his time with his mother was not long, he would not work late at night, even to the point of leaving the school abandoned. If only Diba knew, he would continue to be with his mother without even going a step away from her. If he had known, he would have paid more attention to his mother than his job. Yep! If only he had known, perhaps he had prepared himself and would not have felt this sad and guilt-ridden like this.

Tears mixed with increasingly heavy rain drenched his uniform, and his sobbing grew louder along with lightning striking each other, drowning out a roaring cry for the one who heard it. It was as if the sky was feeling his sadness.

"Pardon Di-ba karn-na did not accompany mother kala i-i-tu"

His breathing gets heavier when he tries to speak.

Adiba moved from his place when he felt his chest getting claustrophobic because of the cold that was increasingly tormenting him.

"A-adiba came home now, b-bu. D-diba har-us cook-ak for bap-ak. Assalamual-al-alaicum"

Adiba exhales before opening the door of the house. His footsteps slowly led him towards the room he had been in to replace his wet spook. Afterwards he went to the kitchen, he saw the food that he made this morning was still intact untouched. Diba slipped his wet hair behind his ears before taking all the food on the table and heating it.

15 Minutes passed, Diba had finished his work. After arranging everything, he went to his parents' room to call the father who must have not eaten since morning.

Tok tok tok tok

"Sir. Eat with Diba yuk"

Diba opened the door of the room because he did not get any answers from inside. He scrunched his forehead because he did not find the father in the room, he closed the door again and looked to the bathroom and the yard while continuing to call the father, he said, but he found it nowhere. He returned to the kitchen and sat in a chair looking at the food in front of him.

Not much different from him, the father also felt very lost the figure of Riri, his wife. He knew that the man he always called Father loved his mother very much, even though sometimes he always acted rudely to her. He always heard from doctors and nurses at the hospital always said that his father often came and accompanied the mother when she was working.

He stood up and went to the front door when he heard someone say hello. He saw the father entering the house, but he was not alone, but with 2 others.

"Mother from where? Why didn't you eat first?"

Efendi looked at the princess for a moment, eyes and nose reddened, then smiled and approached Diba.

"Can you please make us a drink for our guest?"

Diba observed 2 guests who seemed to be married couples, he frowned, feeling familiar to see the woman who also returned her gaze and smiled.

"Diba?"

Diba looked at his Father and blinked several times, making his father smile again. Then he nodded and headed towards the kitchen. Soon he returned to the living room and kept the drinks he made in front of the guests.

"So this is Adiba? Comeoverhere. Beautiful always, just like Riri when young first"

Adiba smiled as the woman who seemed to be his mother's age pulled her hand with enthusiasm and led Diba to sit in the middle of them. He slightly observed the woman, feeling familiar with her face and smile.

"ah! You must be confused?"

He returned to his feet with a smile.

"Include me, my name is Elmira, you can call me aunt Mira and this is my husband you can call him om Dimas. I'm your mother's best friend from the first day"

She nodded and immediately removed the pendant she was wearing behind her clothes, giving it to Mira. Mira happily accepted it, and she took something from her bag and pulled out the exact same pendant necklace that belonged to Diba.

"Your mother still keeps it up"

Diba noticed the two necklaces that looked similar, his attention turned to the middle-aged woman next to him. Mira's beautiful eye bead stared at the photo on the pendant filled with deep yearning. He understood, he knew what it was like to miss someone we really wanted to meet. He hugged Mira from the edge, making Mira jerk and hurriedly wiped her tears that had been flowing on her cheeks since when, then returned Diba's embrace tightly.

the moment was not separated from the attention of the two adult men there. Dimas stroked the head of the girl in the arms of the wife affectionately, the two women were channeling their feelings to each other.

"Son Adiba"

The two beautiful women let go of their embrace. Diba now turned to Dimas who was still stroking his head.

"From today you will stay with us"
