45. JANSEN'S DEPARTURE

"What's up, Mom?"

"Mr Jansen .. passed away."

"W-what?!?"

At once my body felt like it could not feel anything. I was silent for a long time, until Mas Juna woke me up. He's disbanded my class without me noticing. He pulled me and took me to his car. He said he'd called my mom and family. We'll pick them up. After all, Grandpa Jansen was a friend of my late Grandfather.

During the trip to the Bahari residence, I kept thinking about many things. Thinking of the memories that happened between me and Grandpa. And also our meeting yesterday, which turned out to be our last meeting.

I stepped in Mas Juna's footsteps. My body still can't respond to anything. We headed to the burial ground belonging to the Bahari Family which was located next to their stately home. The mourners are gathered there. And Grandpa Jansen's body just got into a burrow.

From far away I saw the figure of Lucka who stood at the front with a black suit and sunglasses. I know underneath her glasses Lucka harbors sadness. Mas Juna grabbed my shoulder and strengthened me. For some reason after seeing Lucka's sadness, my tears flowed along. Mas Juna pressed his hand on my shoulder. I cried in his arms.

People began to leave the tomb area after an ustadz finished praying for Grandpa Jansen's body. I saw some people pat Lucka on the shoulder to give him strength. Tommy asks Lucka to leave the burial area and return home.

Mas Juna and I followed the group of mourners back home. There were also those who left immediately after the funeral.

The Bahari House is filled with mourners who mourn the passing of Grandpa Jansen. Lucka received many condolences from some of his business partners.

I didn't see Jessi's Grandma there. He must be very sad about Grandpa's passing. I want to be by his side right now.

"Miss Love--"

"Alisha--"

I immediately hugged Alisa and calmed her down. The assistants here are already considered like family by Grandpa Jansen. They must have lost Grandpa's figure a lot.

"Miss, the big madam wants to see Miss. " Mister Teddy came over to me and Alisa.

"Eh?"

Mr. Teddy took me to Grandma's room. I say goodbye to Mas Juna first.

I saw Grandma sitting holding Grandpa's picture and stroking it gently.

"granny--"

"Love--"

Grandma immediately greeted me and hugged me. The sadness was clearly visible on his face.

"I'm sorry Grandpa, son. Please forgive his mistake."

"Grandma, don't talk like that. I'm the one who's been wrong with you guys. I left without saying goodbye to you."

"Don't remember what's gone by."

"What happened to Grandpa? He came to see me a while ago. He looks fine."

"Love, ever since you left, Grandpa's been sickly. He feels guilty for you."

"No, Grandma."

"But now he is calm. Pray for him, son. He no longer felt pain."

For whatever reason, I feel so guilty about them. Grandpa and Grandma have been very kind to me. But I've caused a wound in their hearts. I'm sorry, Grandpa...

"Love, stay here!"

"Did?"

How'this? I can't resist Grandma's wishes. I accept his request.

I went back to Mas Juna who was talking to his friend.

"We're going home now?" Ask me.

"Oh, so. Yes already, it's okay. I'm going home with Mom and the others."

"I'm sorry, Mas. I have no power to refuse."

"What's wrong. I'm sure Miss Jessi wants to be with you."

I drove Mas Juna and my mother and the others to the front of the house. I went back inside the house after Mas Juna's car was no longer visible.

I see Lucka still receiving a lot of guests. I don't want to bother him. I saw Sally just coming and hugged Lucka. I don't know why I don't like to see it. I decided to go to my old room in this house. I asked Alisa to accompany me.

"His room is still the same as when I left it."

"Mr Lucka is very careful to take care of Miss's room" Alisa said.

"What?!"

"Mr Lucka is very confident that one day Miss will definitely return to this room. And it turns out that's true. Although it took a few years to make that happen."

I came back to shed my tears. Returning to this room evokes my old memories of all things in the past.

I saw a big teddy bear still in my corner. The doll was a gift from Lucka on my 18th birthday.

I approached the doll and took it. Four years have passed, Lucka...

Although my heart aches when I remember everything, but I can never remove it from my heart.

I hugged the big teddy bear. I was crying there. I remember saying I would hug this doll if I missed you. And now, I'm hugging this doll.

I missed you Lucka. Miss you so much.

My crying is getting louder. I don't care if Alisa's there to see me. He must know what I'm feeling right now. I put my arms on this doll. I missed you so much, Lucka...

...***...

The night finally arrived, the atmosphere began to quiet here. I walked around the flower garden as usual. They are still well taken care of. I miss the times I took care of this park.

Since Grandpa's funeral, I haven't seen Lucka again. He must still be very sad. I tried to go to his room.

The door is not closed. I saw Lucka sitting on the couch. He's pensive there.

How'this? Do I have to go there? But I don't want to ruin his daydream. The burden on his shoulders was now really heavy right now.

Oh yes, Brother Lucki? I don't see her whereabouts. He was very far from home. Does he know that his grandfather is no more? Does she feel the sadness that Lucka feels?

Ah, nevermind. I am no longer a member of this family. No need to interfere in their affairs.

I walked back to my room, before a voice called my name.

"Love..."

I gasped and looked back. Lucka realized that I was in front of her room. How'this?

"Come here!" said it.

"Did?"

I hesitantly walked slowly into Lucka's room. I sat next to him.

He said nothing more and put his head on my shoulder.

"Let me borrow your shoulder for a minute."

I didn't answer Lucka's request because he did it before asking permission.
