Lv. 999999 Goblins

Lv. 999999 Goblins
Chapter 10 - A Beginning

After defeating the Lich that plagues York Village. I returned to the real world using the [Ilusion Breaker] skill.

Unexpectedly, the day had changed and the sky was bright. Some of the sleeping goblins had already begun to wake up, although there were some of them who were still sound asleep and sleepy.

Now I was inside Herlin's tent to settle some affairs. Since he had witnessed my battle with Lich earlier I had to immediately change his memory with the [Change Mind] skill.

However, when I want to finish it quickly. Herlin suddenly knelt before me.

"Please!! Let me be a witness to your greatness!! I promise I won't tell anyone!! So let me bear witness to the beginning of our racial revolution!"

Herlin had told me all about the Lich. About him who threatened the people of York Village to become the victim, and about us who would be sacrificed in exchange for them.

What did he say anyway? The revolution? I do not intend to use this cheat power for any ambition. I just want my life to be easier in this world. Not that I want to have many enemies, precisely because I have the power of this cheat makes me able to protect myself from the enemy.

"Even though you say so, I still can't make other people know of my strength. I'm sorry, but forget everything you've remembered about the previous fight."

I used [Change Mind] on Herlin, and changed the memory of the Lich to never exist.

After my fight with the Lich, we finally settled completely in York Village. It seems like my father has managed to negotiate with Herlin and gain his full trust.

I'm glad to hear that, that way we won't bother moving places anymore.

"In addition I must be more careful in using my powers so as not to be caught by others."

Given that it was the second time my strength had been exposed. I had to reduce my carelessness and pay more attention to the surroundings just in case. I knew that I would not be able to keep hiding, but only for a while did I want to keep doing it until I truly understood how my powers worked.

***

Three years have passed, during which time we Goblin children have honed our skills to hunt, fight, and also escape. These three things are very important for Goblins to survive.

Of course, we don't practice on our own. Herlin trained us directly inside the forest, with real experience making us easier to understand and adapt.

Not unexpectedly, Herlin was very good at hunting. In just a matter of minutes, Herlin managed to catch Deer which was among the hardest animals to catch because of its running speed.

"It's so hard, Uncle Herlin!"

"Yes, give us a little convenience. The deer kept running like it couldn't get tired at all."

"I want to go home and sleep."

Ted, Jefri, and Elen breathe exhausted after failing to catch the Deer in training. Herlin hit them one by one.

"Ouch!"

"Eh?! But it's hard!" lamented Elen.

I came out of the bushes. While dragging one Deer that I managed to catch, thanks to that my clothes are shabby and my body is full of wounds. Actually, I could have used the skill to make it easier for me to catch Deer, but after thinking about it, it is better that I also train my physique just in case.

"Whoa!! You can really catch him, Ehen?!" Jefri.

"It must be a coincidence, if it was me then it could catch ten at a time." puffed up Ted while puffing his chest.

"You ran for breath and begged the Deer to stop running" said Elen.

"That's just because I'm exhausted, okay? I can do it in top condition."

"Stop there. Ethen, I commend you for catching one Deer. But next time look for a bigger one."

"I understand, I'm sorry."

I apologize to Herlin for only bringing a little Deer. After all, it is very difficult to catch adult deer, they are very agile and fast compared to small deer that run not so fast.

"Really! That's Ehen's cheating!" Ted scolding me.

"What's important is to get one of nothing" I replied with a mocking smile.

"W-You.. next time I'll catch a big one!"

I laughed when I saw Ted's childish behavior. Well, they're still kids anyway. While spending time with them, I came to understand that monsters were not really that different from humans. They have their own lives, their families, and their way of surviving in the world.

After all, it all depends on the perspective of each. From which point of view do you see the world side, and infer it.

"I think for the hunting exercise we've reached here. As long as you can hunt other animals, that's enough."

"Eh?!! I want to try it again!" Elen whining.

Suddenly Herlin's face turned serious. He stared at us intently, making the four of us gulp.

"Tomorrow, I'll give you a special mission."

When Herlin said that, I had an unpleasant premonition in my heart.

"W-what's that?" ask Ted.

"Blooting Mission."
