Chapter 101

Next day.

The hot weather in Jakarta makes Melinda's throat feel dry. Because there were no more classes, Melinda decided to look for drinks near the campus area.

As Melinda was about to cross the road, suddenly the motorcyclist passed by at high speed. The shocked Melinda fell down and made both her palms blister.

The motorcyclist stopped the speed of his motorbike and ran towards Melinda who had not yet risen from the fall.

“You okay?” ask the man while helping Melinda get up.

“I'm fine,” Melinda replied while covering her abrasive palm and it turned out to bleed a little.

“Let's come with me, I'll be responsible for taking you to the hospital,” said the man because he did not want Melinda why-why because of her speeding on the road.

“No need, Mas. I'm fine, I'm sorry,” reply Melinda and small run continued her steps that had been delayed.

Melinda ran small to a fairly large shop and bought red medicine for her wounds.

“Thank you,” said Melinda after making payment.

Melinda's desire to find a fresh drink is finally gone.

Seeing my condition like this, I'd better go home. (Inner Melinda)

Melinda called the housekeeper to pick her up and after that, Melinda called her husband to let him know that she was coming home early.

“Assalamu'alaikum, Melinda, you're fine, right?” ask Raka over the phone.

“Wa’alaikumsalam, I'm fine, Mas Raka. Mas Raka does not need to pick me up, I have contacted the house person to pick me up,” replied Melinda.

“Alright, my dear wife. When you arrive, please tell me yes,” pinta Raka.

Melinda smiled widely with happiness when she heard the husband call himself “My wife dear”

“Melinda, are you still there?” asked Raka because there was no response from Melinda.

“Iya, Mas Raka. I am here,” replied Melinda.

“I want to continue working again, I love you!”

“I love you too Mas Raka,” reply Melinda.

“Wassalamu’alaikum, see you at home!”

“Wa’alaikumsalam, Mas Raka,” reply Melinda and finally the call ended.

Melinda put her phone in a bag and decided to sit in a wooden chair facing the campus.

“It turns out a bit sore,” said Melinda when she saw her palm that had been given red medicine and also was neatly covered with a wound cover.

As Melinda was watching her palm, suddenly a hand touched her shoulder.

Melinda looked at me with a confused look.

“You're Melinda, right?” ask a long-haired brown woman.

“Iya, I'm Melinda. Who are you?” ask Melinda curious.

“What, we are one major and one class. You really don't know?” her question was surprised that Melinda did not know herself.

“Really? Sorry, I didn't pay much attention,” replied Melinda.

“Because you don't know me yet, now we know first. I'm Siska Pratiwi,” he said introducing himself while extending his hand.

Melinda smiled and greeted Siska's hand kindly.

“By the way, what are you doing here? Let's go inside, let's have some ice!” take Siska.

“Sorry, I can't. I was waiting for an invitation,” Melinda replied subtly.

“It's okay, next time stop by my parents' store,” said Siska pointing to the bakery and also drinks owned by her parents.

“So, the store there belongs to your parents,” said Melinda.

“Of course. Our home is also one with the store,” concluded Siska.

Melinda was happy because there was Siska who invited her to chat.

The two of them continued talking, until finally the driver who was in charge of picking up Melinda arrived.

Melinda said goodbye and before they parted, Siska asked Melinda to be her friend. Melinda gladly accepted Siska's request.

The two waved their hands when they were going to separate from each other.

Melinda got into the car and the driver drove home.

“Pak, is Grandpa home?” ask Melinda.

“Big Master is at home, Young Miss,” he replied.

Melinda gave a small nod and suddenly recalled how her husband expressed feelings for Melinda.

Last night was like a beautiful dream for me. (Inner Melinda)

Melinda touched her chest that was beating faster than usual.

“Assalamu’alaikum, Grandpa!” Melinda smiled to see Almer who was standing waiting for his arrival.

“Wa’alaikumsalam, finally Grandpa's granddaughter-in-law has arrived. How is today?” asked Almer who was very curious about Melinda's activities during her time in class.

“Alhamdulillah, Kek,” replied Melinda.

“The daughter-in-law must be hungry, now go to the room. In 1 hour we will eat together,” said Almer asked Melinda to rest first.

As a good granddaughter-in-law, Melinda obeyed what Almer had told her. The young woman agreed and went to the room to rest for a while.

Almer smiled with relief knowing that there were no obstacles for his son-in-law's granddaughter in studying.

Melinda sighed and put her backpack on the table. Then, Melinda decided to clean herself up before laying her body on the bed.

As Melinda wanted to take off her clothes, her phone suddenly rang.

“Mas Raka,” said Melinda with a very happy feeling.

Melinda eagerly received the husband's phone call.

“Hallo, Assalamu’alaikum, yes Mas Raka,” Melinda said when receiving a phone call from her beloved husband.

“Wa’alaikumsalam, darling,” reply Raka by phone.

Melinda was shocked and accidentally dropped her phone. For the first time there was a man who called him dear, moreover the one who called him was the beloved husband.

Melinda was so nervous that her hands trembled when she was about to pick up her phone that had fallen on the floor.

“Melinda darling, hello,” said Raka repeatedly because there was no response from Melinda.

“Iya, Mas Ra-ka,” replied Melinda stammeringly.

“Why you? You sick?” asked Raka who sounded very worried.

“I'm fine, Mas Raka. Mas Raka when to go home?” melinda asked him about the husband's return.

“I'll be home soon, why? Do you miss me?” asked Raka who tried to tease Melinda over the phone.

Melinda is confused as to what to answer, in fact she misses her husband very much. However, Melinda was embarrassed to tell the truth.

“You don't have to answer, I already know the answer anyway. Yes, I finished my work here. Wait for me to come home, my dear wife,”.

“Good, Mas Raka. I will always wait for the arrival of Mas Raka,” Melinda replied with a red face.

The conversation ended and Melinda decided to clean up before taking a break.

Nightfall.

Almer looked at Raka and Melinda with a serious look. For some reason, Almer was a little unsettled sitting three in the living room.

“Raka, why are you quiet? Is there something very important that you two want to say? Remember carefully, if your talk about divorce, do not expect Grandpa will approve it,” said Almer.

“What's this grandfather talking about? Who wants a divorce?” raka asked annoyed when he got a bad question from Grandpa.

“Then, what?” asked Almer who was very curious.

“Begini, Cake. Actually Raka has fallen in love with Melinda,” said Raka who looks very gentleman.

“Really?” asked Almer who was now looking at his daughter-in-law's granddaughter with a hopeful look.

Melinda nodded timidly and Almer clapped and whistled happily.

“Alhamdulillah.” Almer thanked her with teary eyes.

“Kakek no longer need to scold Raka, after all Raka will try to protect Melinda and also keep Melinda for life Raka,” concluded Raka.

Melinda could not speak anymore, Raka's words made her both moved and happy. Now, Melinda does not need to be afraid of being alone anymore, because there is already a husband and also the Grandpa who is by her side.

“Thank you, Mas Raka. Thank you, Grandpa. Now, Melinda has nothing to fear anymore, ” the bright Melinda who continues to shed tears.

Raka smiled sincerely and moved her wheelchair closer to Melinda. With a loving gaze, Raka tightly grasped Melinda's two hands.

“Ssuuttss, you don't have to cry like this. Trust in God and us. Sorry, if I haven't been a good husband to you before. However, from this moment onwards I will try to be a good husband for you,” said Raka.

Melinda cries in the arms of her husband, hoping that the end of her life story is the happy ending Melinda had hoped for.

“Mas Raka, I promise I will try to be a good wife for Mas Raka and I will always try not to disappoint Mas Raka in the future,” reply Melinda.

Almer broke down in tears, and his daughter-in-law's granddaughter and granddaughter were finally able to love each other.

“Actually, Grandpa kept something a secret from both of you,” said Almer who decided to tell you why the two could get married.

“Meanings Grandpa?” asked Raka while releasing his embrace with his wife.

“Are you ready to listen to what Grandpa will say?” ask Almer.

“Grandfather, what's wrong? Let's tell you what exactly Grandpa wants to say. Don't make Raka and Raka's wife die curious,” said Raka who seemed a little upset with his Grandfather.
