Calista looked at Ilya with a look of disbelief. His action that defeated five Hunters at once made him amazed and afraid simultaneously, lucky for people like Ilya to be on his side if they were enemies it was certain Calista would die since then.
'There were six Hunters he defeated. Everything looks strong, but he can get through it very easily'
He still held Ilya's hand. While walking and hiding, they look for Luke's place locked up because since then all they find is an empty room.
"You scared?"
Ilya whispered briefly. Calista gave him a quick glance, then gave a small nod of hesitation and embarrassment.
"Little bit. Seeing blood and dead people makes me uncomfortable"
He said honestly. There are many things Calista fears. After his adoptive parents died, he was sure to forget his memory— until now his memory only returned a little, but all he remembered were bad things and traumatized him.
["Why don't you just leave him outside? The boy felt uncomfortable being here"]
The smell of blood was smelled by him. Calista wanted to throw up just then, but she tried to hold him back because she did not want to be a burden for Ilya at this time.
"You back? I can take you outside and clean this up by myself"
Calista shook his head strongly. He did not want to go back and remained silent while Ilya here fought desperately.
"No, I'll come. Besides, I want to see Luke's current state."
Ilya nodded briefly. She was going to force Calista because she seemed uncomfortable, but this way she wouldn't force her.
Ilya walked into the next room. There was no one there, just an empty and dark room— was never cleaned, making anyone want to get out of there immediately.
The building consists of three floors. Ilya did not know which humans would want to live in this forest, but certainly his taste was strange and frightening.
"By the way, who's the boy named Lukas? He's your son?"
Ilya got a hard pinch on her right arm from Calista for asking that.
"He's not my son! I'm not even married"
He grimaced, feeling sore because of his pinch.
"Who is he? Can't you help a kid you just met on the street this afternoon?"
"Yes, he's the new kid I talked to this morning"
Ilya was silent hearing that answer. He opened the door of the next room and found a Hunter standing guard. He quickly ran and kicked the man's body until he slammed into the wall.
"Huh!? Kirain she's got a blood relationship with you"
He approached the man, making sure that the Hunter was dead. While Calista opened her closed eyes, after removing her hand from Ilya she immediately closed her eyes as she could not bear to see the fight.
An event that has been repeated since. Closing his eyes as Ilya fought, opening his eyes back, grasping Ilya's hands tightly and following him like a chicken.
"Yes, what's wrong with helping someone who's not family? Pity him, right?"
Ilya let out a long sigh hearing Calista's naive reply.
"You shouldn't help someone get you into this. You should think about yourself too"
Calista moved towards Ilya. He clasped Ilya's hand again as the hazel-eyed man stretched out.
What Ilya used to fight earlier was his feet, so his hands were clean of blood or dust.
"I just want to imitate someone who saved me first"
He spoke softly while bowing his face.
'Remy?'
Inner short. From Remy's story he had already saved Calista when the dungeon first appeared, it was certain Calista would admire Remy because he saved her life.
But unfortunately Calista did not know that the one who saved him at that time was his own brother.
"But your safety is more important. What if you hadn't met me? Are you going to keep following that car?"
Calista jerks. He didn't think about it, for example Ilya didn't meet with him earlier would Calista still chase his car and help Luke?
"I don't know" he hesitated. He turned his face away, avoiding Ilya's current gaze.
"Don't force yourself"
Ilya's hands ruffled her hair slowly. A pink tinge appeared on Calista's cheeks, not usually she received this kind of treatment—more who did it was a man like Ilya.
In his eyes now Ilya looks cool.
"Anu—tuan"
Practically Ilya instantly covered Calista's mouth with her hands. Ilya's eyes looked around, then he brought Calista closer to him to hide behind the old boxes that were there.
"Stttth. Someone came here"
Ilya's words made Calista panic. But she immediately kept quiet as Ilya hugged her from behind.
Ilya looked forward, along with that the sound of several footsteps could be heard approaching them.
'Noe, how many people?'
Ilya directly asked Noe in her heart.
["Five people, one of whom is a child"]
'He must be Luke'
Ilya's hug to Calista loosened. He asks Calista to hide behind him, while he prepares to attack if their hideout is discovered by the enemy.
But simultaneously Ilya felt the presence of someone behind him. As he turned around a tall man with a face wearing a mask appeared, attacking Calista abruptly.
"Calistas! Watch out!"
Brugh!!
"Master!? Your hand!"
Immediately Calista looked at the injured hand of Ilya with worry. Even so he managed to kill the man earlier, but his hand was scratched by the enemy weapon so now Ilya has a wound there.
"I'm fine."
His words were so calm. Ilya does have healing powers to herself, but the pain is still hers.
["Excellent speed, she was just like the woman in the dungeon back then"]
Noe gave a brief account of his analysis. Ilya nodded internally, she felt as thoughtful as Noe.
The sound of footsteps was getting closer, from behind the dark shadow appeared an old man— his face was wrinkled, reflecting his age, he had a cut in his eye area which added to the intimidating impression.
"Look, who's here? A rising celebrity"
He said so while looking at Ilya who was healing her hand. Calista was pushed gently by Ilya to retreat, she felt a different strength from the man—even knowing that the old man was currently using the artifact to hide his true appearance.
"I'm curious about you, I didn't think you'd come here alone"
Behind him a boy stood. He was Luke, the son Calista had been looking for until he came to this dangerous place.
"Luke!"
Calista shouted, calling the boy's name hoping the boy would turn to him—but Luke just kept quiet unmoved, his eyes empty like something was being controlled.
"He didn't hear it"
Calista lirih's voice. His eyes stared worriedly at the child, even now he was a little crying as he looked at her.
"You came for Luke, right? I'll give it to you, just as long as you stay away from him"
Calista jerks. He quickly looked at Ilya who was now fully healed, the wound on his hand had disappeared somewhere—now he could fight well.
"Stay near me. It's a trap"
Ilya knew the old man would not easily give Luke to them. It was just a trick so he had sandra so Ilya wouldn't mess around. If Calista was there then Ilya would not be able to attack recklessly.
Calista is stuck in two choices. He couldn't just let Luke go, but he also didn't want to come willingly to the suspicious old man—let alone Ilya said that this was just a trap. He trusted Ilya more than the old man.
