CHAPTER 44. MIDNIGHT

Mr. Rudi was immediately taken to the nearest hospital. Alma's father's feet and hands had started to cool, but he could still detect the pulse on his wrist.

Alma was very panicked looking at the face of the father who was deathly pale. His eyes were tightly closed, while Mr. Rudi's mouth grew increasingly white.

"Mas, please speed up the car! I can't bear to see you in this condition" Alma said.

"Yes... This is the maximum. Just get in the hospital." Yunan replied, accelerating the speed of his car.

Arriving at the hospital, a nurse rushed a gurney to move Mr. Rudi's body. Alma was unable to say much, she could only hope that her father's life would be helped.

Yunan and Alma followed the steps of two nurses who carried the body of Mr. Rudi who was getting sluggish on top of the gurney. They immediately headed to the ER as an initial action to treat patients according to their level of concern.

'Dad, I'm sorry I couldn't keep you company all day. I didn't expect it to happen like this.'  

Alma monologues all the way through. He regretted his actions that left Mr. Rudi to stay in the house alone.

"I'm sorry, Mom and Dad can't go into the room" said one of the nurses.

"Oh yes, we will wait here" replied Yunan. Instantly stopping his steps, he followed Alma who was beside him. The two walked towards the waiting chair close to the ER room.

Before long, a doctor came with a steady step into the ER room. The atmosphere became increasingly tense as the doors of the ER room closed tightly for up to thirty minutes. Actually if in a non-emergency, the time is not up to an hour is fairly short, but because waiting for the results of the doctor's examination, then every second becomes very long for Alma and Yunan.

"Mas Anton has been waiting in front of Dani sir, Mom. You need to be taken to the hospital!" Adel said to Ms. Halimah.

"Yes, Del. You and I will take you to the hospital. You're Heni, just at home with your son!" tell me about Halimah.
