MID 14 | Doctor Madeline's Decision

It has been one month since Madeline and Pierre were married. For a month, Madeline and Pierre's relationship was so cold. Often arguing over something that is not important.

As of right now, Madeline seems to be in a hurry because there is an appointment with a cancer patient she is handling.

"Don't be old, Pierre. I have an appointment with the patient" cried Madeline from the outside.

Pierre who was still in the room looked so reluctant to get out of bed. It felt like he was resting his tired body. Now the man must be preoccupied with reality.

"Yes" cried Pierre from the room.

Madeline is so focused on her mobile phone, exchanging news with her best friend who is in Milan. If Madeline is busy with patients, it is inversely proportional to Pierre.the man still continues his footsteps to continue to see the woman, namely Yara who looks happy.

Of course Madeline didn't know that, for Pierre it wasn't the realm of that woman. So there's no need for Pierre to tell a story.

Pierre came out in neat clothes and did not forget the proud white coat. Because of the white suit, the name Pierre Cardin Spencer is so much known to people. Known as a great doctor and certainly handsome.

"Come on." said Pierre lazily.

Madeline put her phone in the bag, walking behind the man. As long as the two were married, it was not uncommon for Pierre to eat in the apartment of course it was all handmade Madeline. Just not for this morning, the two seemed to be getting ready.

"This morning there was a meeting with the oncology department, to discuss about the emergency patient at this time" Pierre said as he turned the wheel of his car, advancing to the hospital.

Madeline nodded, she certainly did not forget the meeting this afternoon. A few weeks ago, the hospital where Madeline and Pierre had arrived was a patient she found difficult to handle. Not without reason, because this time the patient is a pregnant woman who has a tumor in her brain.

Of course this is so difficult, considering there are other lives in the woman's body that must be saved as well. Therefore, this is a discussion at a meeting in the oncology department this time.

"After I have the therapy on my patients, I will go to the department immediately" Madeline replied.

After arriving at the hospital, the two were busy with their respective responsibilities. Pierre is busy with his patients, and so is Madeline. The doctor is doing chemotherapy for the patient.

Madeline walked out of the room to the oncology department upstairs. His footsteps continued to walk until he reached the top floor.

"Why in times of emergency like this the elevator must be damaged," said Madeline who was exhausted from having to climb the stairs.

Until the woman reached the room, all eyes were on her. Likewise with Pierre, the man looked at Madeline who looked exhausted.

"Sorry, I'm late. I have a patient who is doing chemotherapy" Madeline said, bowing her body in apology.

Everyone in the room understood. For them, dealing with patients is the thing that must be prioritized.

"Please sit down, the meeting will start soon" said Doctor Theo, who is Madeline's senior.

Madeline sat in the chair provided. As I have talked to Pierre before. This discussion is related to patients who are pregnant women.

"What should we do?" ask Doctor Theo.

Madeline seemed to make a sound, "Who's handling this patient?" tanyakanya.

"Doctor Pierre" replied Doctor Theo.

Madeline turned her head towards Pierre, "What about his last condition, Doctor Pierre?" ask Madeline to estimate what steps she should take this time.

Pierre opened the file containing the medical history of the patient he was currently discussing.

"Last time I checked. The fetal heart rate is getting weaker, aggravated by the nausea and vomiting that attacks it." explains Pierre while closing the health file of a female patient named Alcie.

"What about his sleep?" ask Madeline.

All the doctors in the room were silent. They allowed the senior Doctor to analyze what steps to take, they had to save two lives, and of course this was all too risky.

"What steps should we take?" ask Dr. Arsen who has been silent since.

"How old is that woman?" doctor Theo asked Pierre.

"35 weeks" he answered briefly.

All were silent, the path they had to take was so complicated this time around. It's about 2 lives, which means there must be action to save both.

As everyone fell silent, Pierre stared at Madeline. He believes Madeline has the same decision to save the patient this time.

"How's it?" ask Pierre to Madeline. Although Pierre was Madeline's senior, the man did not handle the surgery very often. Unlike Madeline, the woman did dedicate herself to oncology surgery.

Madeline seemed to think, the pen in hand was circling. Until he finally found a solution.

"There is no other option, we must immediately conduct a joint operation as soon as possible. The fetal heart rate is getting weaker, it is getting worse with the weak condition of the patient," Madeline said staring at one by one the doctors in the room.

"Patients should get treatment immediately, we can start from now before aggravating the condition," Madeline continued.

"Is this not all that risky?" ask Dr. Arsen who is worried about failing.

Madeline reviewed the smile staring at her colleague.

"It was also my first experience. That's the only way we've got to save both of them. Remember that! There are two lives, not just one" Madeline recalled.

Doctor Madeline's words were correct and All the doctors in the room nodded in agreement with Doctor Madeline's proposal.

"Doctor Pierre, I ask you to confirm to the obstetrics department immediately to prepare. We'll soon be ready for surgery" Madeline said, nodding in response to Pierre.

Madeline immediately left the room, her footsteps walking straight towards the operating room.

Before long, Pierre immediately contacted the obstetrics department to immediately prepare for the operating room. Once everything was ready, all the doctors who were in the department room immediately prepared. And some of them were getting ready to go to the patient's room to take him to the operating room.

Using personal protective equipment. Some doctors from the oncology department took the patient directly into the operating room, followed by family members who were behind him.

"Please wait outside" said Dr. Arsen. Then the man closed the operating room.

Inside the operating room..

Madeline, Pierre and Theo are preparing surgical instruments while continuing to monitor the condition of patients who are getting weaker.

"Surgical knife," Madeline's pinta.

Pierre's doctor who was near Madeline immediately gave him.

"Kassa," he asked again.

Some doctors are doing their job. Until Doctor Theo's words quite surprised them.

"His blood pressure dropped so fast. It's 90/60 now" he said.

Until Dr. Arsen spoke again, "The fetal rate is increasingly unstable, and can lose life at any time."

"It must be removed immediately" said Dr. Belinda who is a Doctor from the obstetrics department.
