My Innocent Doctor's

My Innocent Doctor's
MID 27 | Sadness of the past Madeline

Madeline and Pierre were sitting in the chair provided, the face of the Doctor in Mr. Spencer's room looked tense.

"What is this, Director Spencer?" ask Madeline. Of the many Doctors in the room, only Madeline dared to ask.

This makes Mr. Spencer very fond of the best doctor and his daughter-in-law.

"You know, if I had called you all here, there would have been something important that I would have talked about here," said Mr. Spencer stared one by one the great doctors who worked at his hospital.

Pierre, who is not basically a long-winded person, interrupts immediately, "Just at the core, Director Spencer. If this has to do with the patient's life, there is no need to talk anymore" urged Pierre who understands the direction of Mr. Spencer's conversation.

Mr. Spencer looked up at his son, "You're right, Doctor Pierre," he said.

"We have a referral patient from another hospital, the patient must immediately undergo surgical removal of the tumor-attacked lobe" explained Mr. Spencer while explaining in more detail where the patient's tumor is located.

Lobus removal surgery or commonly called Lobectomy, a surgical procedure that is widely performed for patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Madeline, who has never jumped, of course, asked, although she often struggled on the operating table. But handling surgery for lung cancer patients is the first thing for him.

"Who will lead this operation?" ask Madeline.

Mr. Spencer stared at Madeline, "Do you want to try to jump in, and be your first experience?" haggard Mr. Spencer.

Madeline would immediately refuse, "For matters of life I would not want to try Mr. Spencer, maybe you can rely on another Doctor from me" Madeline refused.

That's what Madeline is like, she'll never dabble in anything to do with life. What if the operation fails? Doesn't that make him feel guilty.

Mr. Spencer nodded, of course he knew the work ethic of his son-in-law. Who put forward expertise in their field, rather than making guinea pig patients.

"Who has had lung cancer surgery before?" ask Madeline. No way not, hospitals of this size never handle surgery for lung cancer patients.

Moreover, the Doctor in the oncology department has two years no update.

"Doctor Pierre and Doctor Theo" replied Doctor Arsen.

Madeline nodded, "Why don't we just offer the experts, they're more experienced. Of course I understand better" Madeline explained.

Mr. Spencer nodded, staring at Doctor Pierre as well as Doctor Theo.

"How's it?" ask Mr. Spencer.

The two young doctors looked at each other, as if asking for an opinion.

"If it's a matter of life, be prepared!" exclaims Doctor Pierre.

Everyone in the room nodded in agreement, until director Spencer finally made up his mind.

"All right, we do it today" he broke.

"And Doctor Madeline, you have to go inside and learn about it" Director Spencer said.

Madeline nodded, "Well," he replied.

Just as they were about to get ready, a general practitioner by the name tag Noora ran towards Spencer's director's room, Doctor Noora broke down Mr. Spencer's door.

No problem after this he will get in trouble or not, which is clear he has to give this emergency news.

Hearing that, Madeline and Pierre immediately ran out of the room. And so did the other Doctor and Director Spencer who was following behind them.

Fortunately, the elevator was not in use. Until finally Madeline immediately entered, followed by Pierre.

"Soon, Pierre!" madeline said impatiently.

Pierre immediately ran into the elevator, heading 2 floors below Mr. Spencer's room. When the elevator is empty, the hallway leading to the patient room is now full of crowds making it difficult to pass.

"Why are so many like this?" madeline muttered in a hurry.

Pierre instantly pulled Madeline's hand, breaking through the crowd. Not thinking if people are berating him.

Until both of them reach the room, but what they both see is enough to make both limp.

The patient they were going to deal with turned out to have breathed his last, visible body that had been covered with a white cloth.

Madeline was no longer able to support her body, until she leaned against the wall.

"Doctor Pierre... We're late" said Madeline with tears in her eyes.

Pierrr also did not lose limp, the man tried to approach the patient he was going to handle it. However, fate had greeted him first. To make the patient go home before getting a handler.

Sobs from the patient's family were heard in the room, as was Madeline who now began to cry covering her face.

He feels like De Javu, old events seem to repeat themselves. The difference this time is not he who experienced, but his patients.

All the Doctors from the oncology department came into the room, as did Mr. Spencer. Madeline wanted to blame the Doctor who was so slow to deal with patients who should be treated, but Madeline still had to maintain her ethics as a Doctor.

The doctors there offered their condolences to the patient's family, and Mr. Spencer assigned several nurses to immediately take the patient to the mortuary.

"Take the patient straight to the morgue" Mr. Spencer told the male nurse he had called.

The nurse nodded, and the two nurses brought the ward that took the patient to the mortuary, followed by their families.

Now the doctors of the department of oncology and Mr. Spencer. Madeline immediately tried to get up, staring one by one the Doctor in the room.

"If the patient is already in this emergency condition, why not from the beginning immediately get treatment. There must be a victim first, so that you realize that someone's life is a precious thing" Madeline said.

Seeing Madeline in the possession of emotions brought Pierre closer, "Pacify yourself, all this is completely beyond our expectations" said Pierre.

"Overstimulated? That said? Know it? If indeed the patient needs treatment why it should be delayed, why not discuss when the patient came to get treatment immediately," said Madeline who was fiery.

Doctor Theo approached Madeline, "Doctor Madeline, it's not like that. When last night came, the patient looked fine. When it is near noon, the patient's condition decreases," explained Doctor Theo who revealed honestly.

Really am! They're not all gonna know it's gonna happen like this.

"Me and Doctor Arsen who was on guard last night, we checked the condition of the patient ranging from vital conditions to others" added Doctor Theo.

Madeline who is still in control of emotions seems to care for her ears.

"Do you know what it's like to lose a loved one due to late handling? It hurts! So sick! I've experienced it, I lost my mother because the Doctor ignored her condition which was critical at the time. And because of that, I dedicated myself to becoming a doctor. So what? So that no one would feel the pain so I did, which was to lose a loved one," roared Madeline who was now on the floor. Crying while covering his face.

I don't know why, it hurt so much for Madeline. He failed, failed to save the patient to make the patient's family feel sorrow.
