My wife Kuntilanak
Chapter 53. Friend Letter

"Duh, it feels like my body hurts all."

Aksa opened her eyes. He was shocked, seeing himself lying in the room. Didn't he faint yesterday in the garage? So was last night a dream or a real one?

"You looking for me, Mom?"

"Astaghfiullah!"

Aksa's heart rate stopped, hearing that voice. His head immediately looked back, to see the origin of the voice.

"Why the hell, Mas? See me, how can I see ghosts?" a woman with a red negligee and long hair, sat next to Aksa.

"Rani? Is this really you?" Aksa shuffled back, staying away from the woman. The man no longer wants to be fooled by women so the events without legs.

"hey are. It's me, your wife. I came here at dawn with a driver. Is there another woman who entered the house?" rani replied with a pouting face.

"It's not so, honey. Last night the creature came again. I'm not calm" said Aksa, still watching his wife closely.

"God! So that? Uh, even though I had intended to dare to stay here for Saturday and week," said Rani while rubbing her neck.

Aksa just stared at Rani without blinking.

"Ah, I'm sorry about yesterday, Mas. I think I've gone too far talking like that to you," said Rani with a face of regret.

"Well, since when did Rani apologize first?" Inner Aksa felt something different from his wife's attitude. But he tried to stay calm.

"Yes, it's okay. I'm sorry too, yeah. Yesterday I also talked outrageously," Aksa replied in a flat tone. "By the way, which kids?" Aksa is still investigating his wife.

"My children live in my mother's house. I'm still traumatized to bring them here" replied Rani. "Ah, what would you like to masakin? I see our dining table is empty" he added.

"What aja, Dek. Cooking eggs can also be. I want to take a shower first" replied Aksa somewhat avoiding his wife.

"OKAY. I went to the kitchen first, yes," said Rani excitedly.

Aksa's eye tail followed Rani's foot until it completely disappeared behind the door. After that Aksa's hand grabbed HP from the table, and called her mother-in-law.

"Assynolajet. What's up, son?" said Aksa's mother-in-law across the street.

"Waalaikumussalam, Mum. Did Rani come home to my house last night?" aksa asked in a whispering voice.

"Yes, Son. He left early in the morning, among the driver's father," replied the middle-aged woman. "Why are you asking? Is Rani not there yet?" ask the woman in wonder.

"You know, Mom. I'm just making sure of it" replied Aksa.

"Huh? How's it? Ascertain what?" The Mother-in-law was even confused to hear Aksa's answer.

"Ah, there's nothing, Mom. We're taking the kids, yeah. We will be there in the afternoon. Assalamulaikum," said Aksa without answering the curiosity of his mother-in-law.

"Yes. The kids are safe with mom. Waalaikumussalam," replied the mother.

"Well, that's actually Rani. I arrived parnoan because of too many strange events," said Aksa breathing freely.

Just as Aksa was about to put his HP on the table, it rang again. A smile was etched on the handsome man's face, when he saw the name that appeared on his screen.

"Hello?" said Aksa softly.

"Hello, Aksa. Is your offer still valid yesterday?" ask Aruna across the street. His breath sounded hunting, like he was being chased after something.

"of course. Have you changed your mind?" aksa asked with a sly smile.

"Yes, I need to stop him quickly. I'm tired of being chased around" Aruna replied in a raucous voice and whispered.

Aksa chuckles. I don't know what happened to the woman, it's not important for Aksa. What is clear, Aruna is ready to be the vanguard to carry out their plans.

"Then I'll come to your shop. You must follow my orders as soon as possible" Aksa said in a cold tone.

"O-okay. I'm waiting for you there" said Aruna.

...***...

It seems to have become a habit Kinanti aka Laksmi. He always visited the house of Mr. Diman and Ms. Nastiti, his parents.

Although it was only ten to fifteen minutes there, and could not chat like a family, it was enough to treat Kinanti's longing for both parents.

Like this morning, after everyone in his house had gone to their respective activities, he went to his parents' house.

The man opens the book closet. He picked up some chocolate books and read them. I used to love biology and physics. Although now he no longer understands all that, but he still likes to see his own writing while living.

Pluck up! A crystal blue paper, falling from the book sheet. Kinanti picked it up. The paper is so beautiful. The edges are a picture of butterflies and roses with red glitter. The black inked writing had already appeared to fade, as it had been stored for too long.

"Dear, Kinanti. Happy birthday, yes. Sorry I was late in giving you a gift. Sorry I always cheat your PR. Third grade, I promise I will study hard so we can study at the same campus. Ah, my story's too long, huh? Hope you like the bracelet. From your best friend, Rani Juwita."

"Rani? Giving me a birthday present? So what he said yesterday, right? What if he's a good friend to me?"

Kinanti unpacked all corners of her room to look for the bracelet. Honey, he didn't find that thing. Kinanti instead found several other pieces of letter paper from Rani.

I read them one by one. Can't be denied anymore. Rani is Kinanti's only friend from this village. Maybe from Rani, she can pry into her past.

Ah, suddenly Kinanti's eyes glanced towards the photo with her friends who were displayed on the study table. "Is this the gift bracelet that Rani mentioned in the letter?" Kinanti saw a beautiful circular bracelet on her left hand.

But where's that bracelet now? Did I wear it when it happened?" kinanti lirih. He doesn't know if his bracelet is in Aruna's hands.

"Well, mom put fresh flowers again in Kinanti's room? Does she miss her daughter?"

Mr. Diman's sudden voice appeared in front of the room door, startling Kinanti. He hurriedly hid in the closet, although the middle-aged man could not see it.

"Ah, why are you getting so skinny, anyway? Father should live a healthy and happy life, even without me," muttered Kinanti in a sad tone.

"Why do I smell Kinanti's favorite perfume, huh? Am I too sad to feel the smell?" Mr. Diman stepped away while rubbing his wet eyes. The smell of jasmine still followed him to the kitchen.
