Ophelia'S Destiny Line

Ophelia'S Destiny Line
CHAPTER O5: A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE, A HOME

...OPHELIA...

I have studied the world after death. At first I wasn't so sure. However, on the day of my death, I met someone in the afterlife.

They are the Oracle of Death. A spirit that can foretell the future, connect feelings with the creator, or that can open the gate to another world.

Back then, he gave me two prophecies that I should bet on. Between dwelling on earth, or crossing another dimension. In other words, to be someone's oenantin. Or what he calls a grip.

I was ready for the second prophecy offered, and all of a sudden, I was in a dark place. Before long, a hand appeared in front of me.

I was thinking, is he the one who will call me to the other side? Will he take me to a new world for me?

I was so doubtful then. But, suddenly my confidence appeared when I saw the wound on his hand. As if that person needed me.

And, here I am now. In a world so strange. I never thought there was a whole world like this. Full of awesome magic.

"You ready?"

My gaze was focused on a man named Asael who was of great stature before me. He was dark-skinned, with a messy white shoulder-length hair. He had a white bead that seemed to have no feelings, but I know, he tried to be gentle with me.

"Yes, but this shirt is so big..." I showed it to Asael. Although he said, this shirt is the smallest shirt he has, even I can only use his boss to cover me.

Asahel said he was the greatest man in the world because he was a descendant of the first generation of ancestors. He's 220cm tall while I'm only 150cm. To me, he is a giant.

"Mr Elmer isn't as big as you..."

"That's because we're different descendants."

"Oh..."

Asael turned and returned with his activities, examining the dead plants that were in the garden behind the house. The garden was very large, I could see both large and small plants here.

"Why did you bar me from here last night?" I asked while following him.

"Because a handrail has a scent that every creature in the world likes. Including that.."

He looked behind me, and I turned to see what he was saying. Apparently, there is a giant plant at the top of which there are small flowers such as hibiscus. When the flexible branches were about to wrap around me, I ran straight behind Asael's body.

"What's that!!"

"That's the caretaker of the plants, and you don't occasionally approach the flowers on it, it's dangerous" Asael recalled.

Then we went back to seeing some plants. There is nothing different from plants in my world, all vegetables have similar shapes, but they are larger than normal.

After taking the time to clean up the mess, we left the house. I don't know where I'm going, I'm just following Asael's big steps. We came out of the path in the forest, and I found the village down there.

"You haven't tied me up with a wedding yet, so it would be dangerous if you walked alone" Asael said casually lifting me up. He held me with one left hand.

"But... It's humiliating..." My whisper, but Asael did not listen.

As it turns out, Asael's house is in a high hill forest. No wonder there are so many trees around. We walked on footpaths made of stone, like on a road in the forest as well. I saw a beautiful sight, especially a large kingdom that seemed far away from this place.

"What kingdom is that, Asael?" I pointed with my index finger.

"The Kingdom of Astherielle."

"Oh..."

After descending from the hill by a slightly winding road, we crossed a large bridge with river water below. There, a lot of fish jumped for nothing.

I kept looking around, because I never saw a natural scene like this in my world.

"You smell good..."

I was shocked when I heard that voice in my ear. I wrote something on my right shoulder, a beetle the size of my palm there.

"K-your roof can talk..?"

"Everybody who lives can talk, miss" he replied.

"Berry? Why are you playing this far?" Asael Tegur.

"Mr Eleazar! I came with dad!"

Then, another similar beetle came. He turned into a man.

"Mr Eleazar-Woah!" He was shocked when our eyes met.

"What's up, Saad?"

"Your bride is so beautiful - Ah! Mr. Brutus conveys a trust. Mr. Eleazar was told to come to his house" the man said.

"He wants to see your bride.."

Instantly, I turned to look at Asael who seemed unhappy with the trust.

"I'll be there in the evening" answered Asael.

"Alright, come on Berry!" The beetle on my shoulder flew with the man earlier. They flew away leaving me and Asael.

"I don't want you to meet the old man" Asael said as he continued on.

"Why?"

"He's a bad man."

I just nodded. If Asahel says that, I must believe him. After walking, we finally arrived at the village. The village was bustling with its people, they all looked busy. There are many shops here, such as vegetable stores, fruit stores, sewing knickknacks, textiles and many others.

However, what surprised me from all of that was that everyone stopped doing their activities when they saw Asael. They bowed respectfully, then they took care of their respective activities.

Oddly enough, after we left some people, they seemed to smile at me. In fact, there were also those who nodded their heads once for me. I replied to them all, though I was confused.

It seems that Asahel was a noble person here, and since I was his bride, they imposed me as well as Asahel.

"Mr Eleazar! Lord Eleazar!"

I looked the other way, there were 3 beautiful women running towards Asael. They are so beautiful with that body. All the men even stole a glance at the 3 beautiful women in front of me.

"It turns out to be true, Master has had his bride! Ah she's so beautiful!"

"Ahh Mr. Eleazar won't need us anymore..."

"Hi lady, what's your name?! What's your favorite color? What size are your shoes"

Eleazar tried to keep them away from me, "Don't bother him, he's still sensitive."

"After the wedding, bring it to us. We'll teach him a lot!"

"No need, you'll just ruin his thinking."

They laughed and then ran away leaving me and Asael.

"They're really beautiful women" I muttered as I watched them run.

"They are holy women, they haven't got a bride" Asael explained.

"Do they seem to know you well?"

"Children of childhood. From the time they were required to sleep with me, their strength I so desperately needed for me to stay alive. But now..."

Asael looked at me, "I've got my own hold."

I lowered my head and looked the other way. What was that? I think something tickled my stomach.

"I don't understand taking care of the house, so you can help me with that" Asael said, giving me a medium-sized pouch. When I look, there's a lot of money in it.

"Buy whatever the house needs, buy your clothes and your body needs as well" he added.

I just nodded. Jeez, it feels like really being a wife only if it is required to meet the needs of the house. I've never felt this happy, because, I haven't even had a married couple in my world.

We went to the clothing store. Asael is busier choosing clothes for me. Many of the clothes offered by the seller, but all of them were rejected by Asael because the clothes were too short, too open, or too tight. She chose clothes like a thick sweater or a long skirt for me.

Even if I noticed the face of the seller, he was so surprised by Asael. It was as if he had never seen this side in the man he respected.

I didn't choose much either, I accepted everything Asael chose for me. If that is his choice, then his choice is for my own good.

After buying clothes, we stopped by the vegetable store and fruit store to buy supplies of kitchen materials. Because at Asael's house there's nothing left, so I intend to buy it.

Asael also advised me to buy new curtains and sheets. Don't know why he told me to, I thought Asael wanted to change the atmosphere of the house.

"That's Asael. You seem to want to buy shops here. You have to save your expenses" I said while looking at the many items we bought, even to the point that they could not be carried by hand.

Right now we are sitting on a garden chair, I don't know what Asael was thinking until he bought a lot of things.

"I came home just to sleep in my bed, because that was the only thing that kept me alive for 20 years. The rest, I'm traveling with the mayor's job. I never really thought of having a home to settle in, but you have become my bride" Asael said, holding me back.

He looked at me with that heartless look, but I knew, behind that look Asael was trying to care.

"My house is your home. Stay up until now, stay forever."
