Running

My conversation with Cain the night before.

Me: So, that's the story. I don't understand Cain. We are the same people, why can you like not remember at all the events on the planet Magnet.

Cain: Well, this is the first time. What's it like without me in your head?

I: Hmm. Delightfully. But to be honest, it feels like something is empty and I feel completely alone. How strange.

Cain: Are you okay with all this?

Me: I have no problem.

Cain: And, this man who claimed to be named Sin you must remain vigilant against him.

Me: Yeah but I have a hunch he's not a bad guy, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have an agenda that doesn't benefit us anyway Cain.

Cain: At least he told you to practice. My nagging all this time you've finally followed.

Me: Yep let's move this flabby body!

“Your joints are stiff once,” Rio commented on our first training session. “You really rarely exercise huh?”

“That's how it is,” I replied rather shyly.

“Oke, no problem. Now do the warm-up moves you know to flex your joints a little! ” Rio gave me instructions.

I did as Rio commanded.

“Well, now we'll run from here to the beach. It's about five kilometers. I'll count the time you need to get there. Go, Start! ” Rio pressed his stopwatch. And we started running.

Rio ran ahead of me and had been waiting for a long time under the coconut tree by the beach when I arrived. “Twenty-four minutes thirty-five seconds. Bad time,” Rio said lightly.

“Sorry, just as much as I can,” I said while taking a short breath from exhaustion.

“Actually it's not that bad. On average, in a 5000-meter run, women can usually reach it within half an hour. But because we exercise not based on the average person and we will not distinguish men and women in this case then what we use as a reference is the world record run 5000 meters, he said, that is twelve minutes thirty-seven seconds,” Rio explained. “So until you can reach that time, I have not been able to teach you capoeira.”

“So, you mean I have to break the world record before I can learn capoeira?” I'm a little confused.

“Ya, there you go.”

“May I know, how many records are you?” my many.

“Nine minutes fifteen seconds.”

“How about Fox?”

“Nine minutes.”

After seeing Rio's running way earlier, I'm sure he wasn't joking. Right now, one thing I'm thinking about. They're both crazy, but I know they're great. The right decision is to learn from them.

We just practice until lunch. After that 5000 meter run, Rio taught me the movements of some kind of floor gymnastics to flex my body. He said my joints and muscles are very stiff.

After the exercise, my body felt easier to move, but because this was the first time my body exercised after so long, my body ached. I met Gabriel at our lunch spot yesterday. He was a little surprised to see me.

“Hai, have you met Fox?” ask Gabriel curiously.

“Ya,” my answer is short.

“But you seem fine,” Gabriel looks disappointed.

“What do you expect?”

“Hey, I'm not bruised. But my body aches all this,” I chimed in.

Gabriel's face looked a little bright.

“Good,” murmured.

“What?” my many.

“You must indeed be taught with pain. How did you feel about them?” ask Gabriel.

“They are not normal. Their time can surpass the world record. They should be running athletes. And they told me to be able to surpass the world record too. What does that have to do with capoeira try?” i explained.

“I used to be trained like that too, but I quit because I wasn't strong. It's been a month and I still haven't been able to surpass the fourteen-minute record for a 5000-meter run,” he recalls.

“Yes. Rio said your asthma relapses a lot. So you had to stop. Fourteen minutes is good. The record changed quickly. I had to go twelve minutes in a second. I don't know how many months until I can skip it,” I muttered to myself.

Gabriel's surprised. “What? Twelve minutes? That's crazy, May. So you're going to stop?”

“Stop? I'm just getting started. Why stop?” timpal.

“Because twelve minutes for you is impossible right, Maya.”

I exhaled. “At first I thought so. But I don't want to give up that fast. I think I can indeed go through it, if I want.”

“But you are a woman,” said Gabriel slowly.

“Then why? Fox is also female right?” i'm offended.

“Dia different. He's a monster. And his body trained since childhood,” he did not give up.

“So I'll just practice, right?”

“You're really stubborn. I thought you'd give up if you get a teacher who applies crazy standards like Fox and Rio,” he said resentfully.

I laughed amusedly. “I'm just thanking you. Those who dare to break through normal limits like them are all I need. As you said before.”

“How long are you going to be here? You're only here for the holidays, right?”

Deg. He touched on a topic I didn't want to discuss. “My vacation time is quite long,” I said with a tone to close the conversation.

Fox did not play around as he said their training was hard. In addition to running, Rio also applied physical exercise that was extraordinarily tiring, especially in the past I never participated in sports activities outside the classroom.

Even so, the exercises Rio applied were very effective and concerned about the environment.

After running, he told me to pick up the trash along the beach or if the trash on the beach wasn't too much after he told me to pluck the weeds. He said it was good to train waist strength.

Not to mention after that I still have push-ups, sit-ups, and lifting weights whose portions continue to increase every day. As a result I always go home in a state of aches and fatigue. But this won't undo my intentions. Because even though what Rio told me to do was sometimes irrational, but so far I have been able to get through it.

“Sixteen minutes twelve seconds. Not bad. Your speed is increasing again,” Rio said in the third week of my training.

“Yes, but it feels like I'm tired of dying,” I chimed in.

“Hey, there is still a 'junk pick up' menu, push-ups, sit-ups and lift weights after this. Let's sweat it out, and get ready," Rio cheered up.

I am still grateful, Rio who guided me in physical training instead of Fox. I can imagine what he would say in a situation like this. But, by the way, I rarely see it, do I?
