"Honey, I have a surprise" Batra said, as she had just arrived home.

"Apo is uda?" Ask Siti, while looking at Batra enthusiastically.

"I'll go in the classroom. I got a promotion to go up. So the company held a class," Batra said.

"Alhamdulillah... O Allah.. The prayer is granted!" Siti looked so happy and touched to hear that Batra would be promoted to the post.

"When did uda go?" Ask Siti again.

"God willing tomorrow. Pray yes," Batra said, smiling and rubbing Siti's cheek gently.

"Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.may the career of uda more rancak, success, rising in office. Aamiin..."

"I've always believed that. Because I have an amazing wife" Batra said, hugging Siti tightly.

Dreeett..!

Dreeett..!

Dreeett..!

Suddenly the phone rings. Batra also released his embrace and stared at the screen of siti's phone located on the bed.

"Bundo called you, Ti," Batra said, staring intently at Siti.

"Leave it, da. I'm tired if I keep making a storm together bundo," said Siti, with a moody face.

"Don't do that anyway it's still your parents." Batra tried to remind Siti.

Dreeett..!

Dreeett..!

Dreeett..!

Call back in. But Siti still tried to ignore him.

Batra let out a long sigh and looked at Siti closely.

"Ti, you are now completely mine. But parents are still parents. Anyway, try to keep appreciating the presence of parents," said Batra.

Siti speechless. He was actually very lazy to talk to his mother. But what power, Batra does not want Siti to break communication with her mother. Batra is indeed a really good husband, even when he fi caci maki and in contempt, Batra still considers Halimah bundo as his parents. Not just his wife's mother or father.

Lazily, Siti grabbed her phone and tried to pick up the phone call.

"Hello, Assalamu'alaikum" Sapa Siti.

But not the answer to the greeting that Siti got, but the sound of sobs that she heard.

"Bundo," Call Siti.

Again, no words came out. Just the sound of sobs and background sounds so crowded at the end there.

"Bundo, ado apo?" Ask Siti who is starting to look worried. While Batra looks confused when he sees the worried face of Siti.

"Ti," Call Halimah's bundo.

"Ado apo bundo? Manangih bundo manga?" Ask Siti who is starting to look panicked.

"Ti, our house is tabaka. What are you..."

"Tabaka?! What is bun?" Ask Siti who is now getting panicked.

"Do you. what are you. hyks hyks.."

"Jan manangih juo bun, ado apo what bun?" Urge Siti.

"Are you. What are you up to, Ti." And the crying broke down at the end.

Instantly the phone in Siti's grasp fell. Followed by Siti who sat and pensive on the edge of the bed.

"Oh my God, Siti! You why?" Batra asked, while trying to support Siti's body that almost fell.

Slowly Siti began to look at Batra with both eyes flooded with tears.

"Why you, baby?" Batra asked who looked very worried.

"So. what da.."

"Why father?" Ask Batra who is starting to panic.

"What a. what so!" Suddenly, Siti's cry broke. Batra quickly hugged his wife's body tightly.

"Innalillahi wainnailaihi rojiun..." Batra said with a trembling voice.

"Why is he dead, Ti? You sick?" Ask Batra.

"Tabaka's house, da. Slapdash... What's inside!"

"Oh God." Batra was speechless. He seemed so devastated to hear this sad news. After all, Batra was secretly quite close to her male in-laws. When Batra lived in the village of Siti, Batra quite a lot of exchanging ideas with father Dahlan. That was why he felt such a deep loss.

"Whataaaakkkk!" Pekik Siti's.

.

"Boy from indak karajo! I'm staying at the mintuo house!" Sindir Halimah's mother who was in the kitchen. So tight is the sound of Halimah bundo, the sharp words were heard to the ears of Batra and Mr. Dahlan who was sitting in the backyard of Siti's house.

Batra fell silent, he bowed in shame. But suddenly, a soft hand patted him on the shoulder. Batra turned his head and looked at Dahlan who was smiling at him.

"I'm sorry bundo, son. Please, do not take heart of his words" said Father Dahlan.

"What is said by Bundo is right, sir," Batra said, smiling wryly.

"Can't see your efforts. You've proposed everywhere. So, it's not you who wants to be unemployed. But, indeed your sustenance does not exist," said Mr. Dahlan.

Batra was silent, he kept his face down. Despite being unemployed, Batra still helps in the house. Starting from cleaning the house, yard, to join the rice field. It makes Mr. Dahlan quite feel helped by the presence of Batra. While Fadlan, his oldest son, did not want to help him, either with energy or finances. Fadlan chose to live in his wife's village.

"Absure. One day, you were able to unite this family. You're the most successful. Because what looks like, you are not a lazy person, but now you are pioneering," said Mr. Dahlan, while again throwing his smile to Batra.

Those simple words, made Batra fixated and also felt so good. He did not expect that his in-laws were so supportive and loving to him.

"Thank you sir. Thank you, you have believed in me" Batra said.

"Son, someone just needs to be trusted. Not underestimated. I don't know what it's going to look like. What is clear is that you will be the angel in this house. Your success, your nature, may lift the drajat Siti, my grandchildren, even my family," said Mr. Dahlan, staring at Batra with a loving gaze of a father.

Batra's eyes look teary holding back the cry of her day. The spirit that was given to him through his father-in-law, felt so give himself the power to try even harder.

Sure enough, one week later, Batra was accepted to work in one of the private offices in Padang. Although it did not last long, because Batra was accepted to work in the Capital, but it was quite imprinted in the heart of Batra.

Remembered by Batra, when he was accepted to work in Padang. He came home with a clean face and was greeted by Mr. Dahlan with a face that was no less happy.

"Thank God, sir, I got a job!" Said Batra at that time.

"Alhamdulillah!" Father Dahlan, raising both hands, expressed how much he felt great gratitude.

Even when Batra was accepted to work in the capital. At that time, although it was hard for father Dahlan, because he had to separate from his daughter, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, he still showed his gratitude and support for Batra.

"I leave my daughter in the region to you, Batra. Even though she is completely your right, I still have to say this; please take good care of my daughter and grandchildren. Please don't hurt him, he's my son who I love the most. Take responsibility, like I'm responsible for her. Teach him goodness and the path to his Ridho. I will also never forget to pray for you all." Mr. Dahlan's message, when releasing the departure of Batra and his family back to the capital.

. .

Now Batra is crying. A wise figure and also one who became his role model has now gone home.

The promise is still a promise, Batra will still hold tight to the promise, even though the person he admires has left this world.
