Chapter 40. The Soft Heart of Maura

Maura lay weakly on the bed in her room. He became ill because he rarely ate or drank. Maura felt devastated by the calamity that befell her household, and ended up at the green table.

Every day, Maura is never separated from her activities that are always crying. In the depths of his heart, he still deeply loved Khendrik. But he did not want to be continually betrayed by Khendrik. Even since they had quarreled, and Khendrik had left their anniversary, Khendrik had not returned home at all.

Maura wanted to hear an explanation from Khendrik. Because he still doesn't believe in all that. Had Khendrik pleaded for his actions, and asked him not to sue Khendrik for divorce. Surely Maura will foil his plan.

But hope remains hope. The husband she had always loved, and always treated herself like a queen. Now it has changed drastically, like turning the palm of the hand.

Kenan had never even visited her at home. I don't know what Kenan did until it was so busy, and didn't get to see him at home. Maura planned to leave the house after she officially divorced Khendrik.

Maura looked like an undead, with her appearance being extremely messy. His eyes were covered with dark circles, his lips were pale, his face was getting thinner, his hair was tied carelessly, even he had only been wearing pajamas since 2 days ago.

During those 2 days, Maura had never bathed and dressed up. All he did was cry, until his tears didn't come out, and they might have dried up. Khendrik's change started 3 weeks ago, but Maura didn't pay much attention to it. Maura thought Khendrik's change was due to the overcrowding of work in the office. It turned out that he was wrong, because what triggered Khendrik's change was the presence of a third person.

Maura grew increasingly desperate, when no friends accompanied her. There was no place for him to complain, no back for him to lean on. Because Maura is an orphan, no brother, he grew up in an orphanage.

Maura continued to stare at her phone which was on top of the nightstand. He hoped that Khendrik would contact him. Although Maura was disappointed at Khendrik's betrayal, she did not hate him. Because Maura will still love Khendrik, regardless of what he has done to him.

Say Maura b*doh! Is not love that often memb*dohkan sane people? It can even make people who are in love go crazy! Maura did not wrongly love Khendrik with all her heart, because she loved her own husband.

This is what Maura was afraid of a long time ago. He hesitated to accept Khendrik's proposal, due to the differences in social status between them. Now that's not the problem, but because of the age factor. Khendrik is tempted by the charm of a very young girl, even the girl can tear down Khendrik's loyal defense for 26 years.

It hurts! That was all Maura felt. Suppose he still had parents, then Maura wouldn't be this sick. Because both of his parents will definitely give spirit to him. Both of his parents-in-law were gone, but they loved Maura as much as their own children.

Maura got up from the bed, she walked towards the balcony. Maura inhaled a lot of air, to relieve tightness in the chest. The essence is pointed towards a car that goes into the yard of the house. The car he knew.

Maura hurried away from the room, she went down the stairs in a hasty step. He opened the door quickly, and a smile rose at the corner of his lips. When she saw her husband coming home, Maura momentarily forgot her heartache to Khendrik.

"Pa, finally papa came home" said Maura while welcoming Khendrik's return.

Khendrik only looked at Maura with a difficult look. Khendrik was astonished to see the appearance of his wife who would soon become an ex-wife in a state of great turmoil. His body was also getting thinner, and unkempt.

"Ma, why is Mama's body so thin?" ask Khendrik anxiously.

Maura's smile instantly disappeared, upon hearing the question from Khendrik. His eyes began to glaze over. Did Khendrik not realize his mistake? Why was he still asking about Maura's chaotic state? Or Khendrik did not feel guilty at all!

Maura did not reply, she immediately walked first into the house, and sat down on the sofa of the living room. Khendrik followed Maura's steps, sitting beside his wife.

"Ma, what's the matter? Why is Mom suing for papa's divorce? What's wrong papa?" ask Khendrik straight to the point.

Maura smiled wryly upon hearing Khendrik's question which she felt was pretending to be innocent. "Mom should have asked Papa! Maybe I should explain something?" Maura looked at Khendrik with a stern look, as if she was intimidating the husband.

"I'm sorry, Dad! Papa knows papa's wrong! Papa Khilaf Ma, please forgive papa! Papa promises won't repeat the same mistake."

"So right, Papa cheated on Mama? Who is this woman, Pa? Is he the one who has slept with papa? The girl the office employee said was Papa's new secretary? Young and beautiful!"

Maura often hears gossip in her husband's office, when she wants to deliver lunch. However, he did not comment on the rumors, as he continued to believe in Khendrik. He was convinced that Khendrik would not betray him. But, it turned out that he was the fool for not believing the rumors.

"yes Ma. But papa swore, papa didn't do anything beyond her bounds. Papa just ...."

Khendrik did not dare to say that he was just kissing with Liora. Ah, surely his wife will hate him even more.

"What is Pa? Answer it clearly!"

"Papa just ate with him outside a lot, nothing more."

"But, Mama doesn't believe!"

Maura got up from her seat, and headed to her room. He took a cell phone that was on the nightstand, then searched for a message, and a photo sent by an anonymous number.

Khendrik who chased Maura into his room was astonished. Why did Maura leave instead, and just took her phone?

"This is what Pa? Still want to dodge? Huh?"

Maura thrust her cell phone in front of Khendrik, and showed what had become evidence of her husband's infidelity.

Khendrik's eyes are perfectly rounded when he sees Photos and messages inside Maura's phone. He shook his head in an incomprehensible sign.

"Ma, papa never did that to anyone! That must be the design! anyway, the woman's picture isn't clear, papa's sure he just wants to destroy our household."

Khendrik continued to avoid. He forgets the events of himself that have tarnished Jesicca. Although the photo was only fabricated, but for the confession about Khendrik who never had an illicit relationship with a woman, is a lie.

Maura looked into Khendrik's eye bead. There he found no lie. Maura again reflected on Khendrik's speech about the photo which was just a design. Maura was as if he was devastated by Khendrik's words, he wanted to speak well with Khendrik. If indeed Khendrik did not commit prohibited relations, then he will revoke his divorce papers.

What a noble, and so tender heart of Maura. He would still stick with Khendrik even though Khendrik had hurt him.
