CHAPTER 10: THE CHANGING PAST

Right now, I can only hear the sound of water with the sound of waves thinly echoing in my ears.

When I opened my eyes slowly, there was a dark empty place. It was like I was drowning in it. The more I'm at the bottom, the darker everything there is. There was only a light reflecting from up there.

Huft.

Hahahaha, I am a loser! Maybe it was my nature like this that made me unable to attract even one girl.

Will I give up so easily?

No, this is not me! I need to be able to get back up and save them!

"Please! Please! Let me go back!"

As I was thinking so, a white light came towards me from up there down towards the bottom. The light is not foreign to me. He is the light that shines on me until I can go back to the past. The light allowed me to float around, as if swimming in the deep ocean.

"You? What are you really?"

However, not a single sound was heard from that light.

Without warning, the light became so bright that it made my view into a white sparkle. I cannot see what is around me!

"Akh!"

After the light was gone, I woke up in a place full of hoses around my body, as well as electronic devices that only medics use to their patients.

W-Wait, am I in the hospital? My body is back to how it was when I was an adult.

Is it all just a dream?

As I looked around, a nurse walked across my room and was shocked to see me waking up from sleep. The nurse immediately called the doctor who had been taking care of me all this time.

Right now, there are a lot of questions I want to ask myself. But out of all those questions, I came to a conclusion. That everything I've been through, is just a dream. Even though I can't prove it, I do believe that it's not real. After all, time travel is impossible, right?

Suddenly, a doctor came into my room while running panting.

"It seems you've realized!" said the doctor.

"..."

I didn't say a word to him, because I was still confused by what was going on.

"You've been asleep for a month, but in the end, you're safe! I've managed to get the bullet out of your heart. It's a miracle because you're still safe after your heart was shot. Actually, where is the center of your life?" obviously the doctor.

After hearing his explanation, I became more and more convinced that what I was experiencing was just a dream.

"Dok, what about my company?" many ensure.

"Oh, your company is being lived by your time and is doing well."

"So, is being lived by my deputy? He's a guy named Rena, isn't he?" my many.

"Rena? Who'sis that? Isn't the representative of your company a guy named Harris?"

"A-What? Harris?! But, he's gonna be applying for a job for a few months?"

"Hmm. According to the documents, she has been with you for several years. How could you forget?"

"Wait a minute!!"

At that moment, my mind became chaotic. As it were, that dream was not just an ordinary dream.

I really crossed time!

"Doc, do you remember who shot me a bullet? If you knew, would you be able to tell me where he is now?" many confusions.

"I don't know in detail, but the one who shot you was a man a little taller than you. And, from what I've heard, he's the heir to a conglomerate!"

"S-A man?!"

Again, all his words haunt me. All of this had nothing to do with me being shot with a gun by Elena.

Has the past changed?

How could? Dan, who's that guy?

From all I know, in this time, I don't have a single acquaintance who hates me. But why did a man shoot me? Has all the information about Elena been kept secret? But, that seems unlikely to happen, doesn't it?

"What's wrong? You seem confused?" The doctor asked.

"Yes, my head is still a little dizzy. Oh yes doc, has there ever been a patient in this hospital named Vera Ilona?"

I asked him that to try to find out if he had ever been in that hospital or not.

"Ilona's Vera? Just a minute."

After saying so, he told a nurse to look for data on Vera Ilona. The nurse rushed to the information room to look for it.

While waiting, I asked the doctor. "Doctors, do doctors believe that one can go back in time?"

"Hmm. It seems impossible. Unless, you go through a wormhole. Maybe you can go into the future or the past. Even though I don't know for sure about it."

"That's it, so if we're still on earth, we can't time travel."

"I'm also not sure, so researchers are now doing research on it. But why are you suddenly asking about time travel?" ask the doctor to be confused.

"alright. Thanks for the answer, Doc!"

"Together."

After that brief conversation, we waited for the nurse who was looking for information on Vera. To be honest, my head still felt dizzy because of all this that had happened. While waiting for the nurse to come up to me, I closed my eyes for a moment to eliminate all the thoughts that were haunting me at this moment.

Until in the end, this nurse came into my room with breathless breath, like she had just run with all her energy. He was in a hurry to tell me something.

"There! Patient Vera Ilona was admitted to this hospital!" exclaim that nurse.

"Eh? Really it? Can I find out more about that?" my many.

"Of course, because you just woke up. Let me read the file!"

"I understand."

The nurse came to me with a piece of paper in her right hand. He approached me and sat down on the chair around the bed.

Then, he read what was written on the paper in a loud voice without the slightest hesitation. Even before, he was a little hesitant to say everything on that piece of paper.

"Ilona Vera. He was admitted to the hospital at the age of eighteen. She was treated for having conceived at an early age. The doctors have tried their best. But all of that failed

This patient was declared dead after several months of surgery."

"M-Death?!"
