04. Listening with a Thunder in the Chest

“Ya, it's okay,” Sisca said.

Morin did not let go of his grip. He was not satisfied with that short sentence. “Say it with a smile,” Morin said. Sisca flinching. “Smiling dong,” woo Morin again.

“Iya he he.”

Replace Morin who frowned while releasing his hand. “Still not sincere smile,” he said sulking.

And that made Sisca let go of her irritation. “It's as sincere.” Sisca held Morin's hand. “It's rame. Look there!”

It's really crowded. The front seat is almost full. The atmosphere was like the market. The two could not go straight to Nadia's seat that was already waving her hands. Sisca and Morin number some of their classmates. Meet old friends should be continued with chips while asking how are each.

The more people come. Sisca and Morin immediately headed for seat two next to Nadia who was tired of guarding him. Sisca sat up and looked in all directions. But it doesn't look what he's looking for.

Sisca pretended not to hear when Morin interrupted. “Kok Timo not yet seen ya.” He raised his chin to look at the stage. It was as if the ceremonial event had already begun. As always, it was full of welcome. Greetings from teachers, principals, Education Office officials and alumni representatives.

Only a few words entered his head. The rest goes into the left ear and then out through the right ear. Although not very important but the welcome or direction must still be there. Because that's how it usually is.

Sisca put more of her eyes on the entrance hallway between the school buildings than on the stage. He was curious and eager to see how Timo was now. Of course as an adult. But why hasn't he come yet?

The ceremonial event passed by slowly. Sisca instead felt her butt overheated from a long sitting. And he started to get nervous. “Many right that speech,” witty.

Morin knew the cause of Sisca's lethargy but he held his mouth. “Sure there should be an official event. Greetings and briefings. Patience. Another moment is also finished,” Morin said.

But Nadia not only could not hold her mouth she even teased. “Betul came also our hero,” he said.

Sisca did not take her eyes off the stage as if she had not heard the words from next to her. Nadia wiggled the tip of her elbow. “His info is now where is he?”

“Di Riau.” Morin answered.

“Maybe he's late. I heard that the road from Riau was much worse than Sumbar. I'm sure he's coming. Not really Rin?”

Sisca was silent. Pretend to enjoy singing on stage.

“I hope so,” Morin said glancing at Sisca.

Sisca had only Morin's third mouth on the right and Nadia on the left both glanced at him. “People who don't come for what are speaking,” are coming.

“But inwardly hope he comes right?”

Sisca felt no need to answer. Both of them couldn't believe he said no. Whatever it is. To be honest, Sisca said to himself, even if he wished he only wanted to see Timo's performance now. No more than that. Although not sure, but he believes Timo already has a wife. I have a family and may have children. What else can be expected of him?

Finished the welcome and briefing. Already entered on the entertainment show. MC turned out to be an alumni who was the same age as Sisca. Hendro and Puti, who were still in school, became private radio broadcasters. Both are always the mainstay of MC in every event at school.

“Don't still be on the radio,” said Nadia anyway.

“You who are ready, will definitely be called,” Sisca told Morin.

In the past, when their class 2 and 3 High School, no one was not familiar with Morin A Sidabutar. He is a Petisah Samadan High School student who is good at singing. Morin always represents the school when there is a singing competition or activities related to vocal ability. He competes with another student who Sisca has forgotten his name.

“Definitely called,” commented Nadia. “Moreover the MCs they both are.”

“Tak problems. Safe it,” respond Morin relaxed.

It is not wrong to say Sisca and Nadia. The MCs called Morin up to the stage. “The sisters below us may not know. Kak Morin A Sidabutar has won the North Sumatra television radio star competition for the student category. If at that time there was Idol or X Factor maybe he could win too,” cried Hendro.

Sisca and Nadia shouted loudly. “Well, right!” Most of the alumni who knew him called Morin by name.

Morin stands. “I sing your favorite song,” Morin said before stepping in.

My favorite song? Sisca was confused. His favorite songs are many. Almost all famous foreign female singers he likes.

Katy Perry, whose real name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson. He likes all the singing on the album Teenage Dream in 2010 which immediately managed to top the US Billboard 200 music charts. He also listened to his song “All Too Well” by Taylor Swift.

Sisca also felt she had left singer Rihanna. His latest song, “Umbrella”, which is the most popular song to date and won his first Grammy Award in the category of Best Rap and Sung Collaboration, is one of his favorite songs.

Lady Gaga likes it too. The song of the singer named Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is delicious heard is the song “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance”. So, whose song did Morin mean?

It felt like a long wait for Sisca with her curiosity wrapped. For Morin greeted the teachers sitting in front before going on stage. With the former 3IPA3 homeroom teacher, Rohana's mother, must be a fan-chipiki too.

Arriving on stage, Morin looked like a professional singer.  At first glance, her figure was similar to Raisa. Sisca was even pounding waiting for what song Morin would sing.

“This song is specially I dedicate to faithful characters. Alumni as well and he's coming now. What's-her-name? Better not mention it, let's be curious,” Morin said. The alumni are welcoming with shouts of “Hhhuuuu.”

//Maybe only God knows everything//What I want in these moments

You won't believe you're always at heart//Should I cry to tell you the truth.//

Morin's initial temple shook Sisca's heart. He felt very familiar with the rhythm and the song. He tries to remember. That's an old song.

//You are everything to me, you are this outpouring of heart//I can't possibly forget there's nothing else I wish for just you.//

Listening to the second verse Sisca shouted, “You Are Everything, Ruth Sahanaya!” Luckily his shout was outweighed strongly by the singing that was also heard in the seats of the alumni. Many people sang from their seats. Morin's voice was swallowed.
