Faris' heart was racing after saying honest things to Vanes, especially Faris immediately saw a disappointed look on Vanes' face. No longer the happiness there is only a sense of disappointment and sadness that may be felt by Vanes at this time.

Faris wanted to hold Vanes' hand but Vanes's hand dodged. Vanes lips smiled stiffly then looked at Faris with watery eyes almost crying.

"I beg you not to cry, listen to me" said Faris.

Faris finally told everything to Vanes, about the match that He did not want when Faris had wanted to lie but because He had always been honest all this time He finally admitted everything to Vanes.

"I didn't like him at all but Mr. Kades kept forcing me to marry him immediately" Faris said.

Vanes smiled instead.

"Why are you smiling?"

"Because now I finally know what Rizal and his girlfriend felt at that time."

Faris frowned not understanding,

"It used to be possible that Rizal also said this to his lover Mira about the matchmaking made by her own mother.

At that time I hated Mira for not being able to release Rizal for me but now I understand the taste." explained Vanes who finally understood by Faris, "It turns out it feels very painful." Vanes forced his smile back.

Faris clasped Vanes' hand and this time there was no rejection from Vanes, "I'm different from Mas Rizal, I still won't continue this matchmaking." Faris replied steadily.

"Are your parents not disappointed?"

Faris shook her head, "Of course not, my parents always supported whatever I did as long as it was best for me."

Vanes smiled again and this time Vanes' smile was relieved no longer by being forced.

"Then what if Mr. Kades keeps asking you to marry his daughter?"

"Maybe I'm going to take my parents out of the village" said Faris, who immediately invited the laughter of Vanes.

Vanes looked at his wrist, it was almost 6pm and it was getting dark, "It looks like we should go home now."

Faris nodded in agreement, "I'll drive you to boarding."

"Do you want to have dinner with me?" bring Vanes.

Faris immediately embraced Vanes, "Alright let's find the best dinner around here."

Both of them also came out of the park to a fried rice shop not far from the park. Both of them had dinner there while telling a lot of things until it did not feel like it was 8 pm.

Faris and Vanes rushed home.

"Don't want to go in first?" tawar Vanes who was immediately embraced by Faris.

"I don't want to be raided by the whole village" Faris said with a laugh.

Vanes smiled, "I'm special here, it doesn't seem to matter if you stop by for a while" Vanes said.

Faris kept shaking her head, "Not now maybe next time."

Vanes finally gave up, "Well, be careful when you get home."

Faris nodded and then returned to the bike leaving Vanes.

Arriving at home, Faris saw there was a car owned by Mr. Kades in his yard, he was able to guess if Mr. Kades was in his house.

And sure enough, when entering the middle-aged man seemed to be sitting in his living room, smiling cunningly at the arrival of Faris.

"New home? Is the Lecturer also overtime?" ask Mr. Kades in a satirical tone.

Faris let out a long sigh and sat down on one of the chairs, right next to Slamet who just kept quiet and said nothing.

"What's it for here again?"

"Faris.." Asih's voice sounded as if forbidding Faris from speaking rudely.

"Of course to see my son-in-law!"

Faris was silent because she was confused as to what to answer.

"The next month of the 30th is the right time for you to get married so I want the middle of the month you come to my house to propose to my daughter" Mr. Kades said again "I hope the dowry doesn't disappoint because I want to make a big party." Mr. Kades then stood up from his seat and came out of Faris' house without waiting for an answer from the Faris family.

"Look, he's acting like he's on his own." said Faris.

Asih let out a long sigh, "The fate of e wong cilik ya kayak gini."

"I will still refuse this marriage, ma'am" said Faris steady.

"Have you thought of a way?" ask Slamet.

Faris shook her head, "Not yet, if there was no other way, I would have taken Father and Mother away from this village. Here everyone has been wronged on us all this time, why do we survive!"

Asih and Slamet sighed simultaneously, it seemed very heavy leaving the hometown that had been inhabited for decades but if it was the best, they would do that.

"Yes if that's the only way, we do it. Now you better take a shower and have dinner."

Faris nodded, even though he had just eaten with Vanes, He still ate again because he wanted to appreciate Asih who had worked hard to cook for him.

After the shower and dinner, Faris lay in bed. A little daydreaming about what to plan to find out the secrets of the Kades family.

"Maybe I should start tomorrow morning." murmured Faris.

The next morning Faris had a new activity that was to pick up Vanes was bored and invite him to leave together.

"You're sure there's no problem with the campus if we leave together like this?" ask Vanes who's been piggybacking on Faris.

"Of course not, the problem is that most of them are gossiping about us."

Vanes laughed, "That's what I mean."

"That's no problem for me. Just ignore whatever they say don't think too much about what other people say" Faris said.

"Alright, I'm following you."

And sure enough, when they arrived at the campus they became a scene of the students because they entered the campus area with a motorbike.

Not a few of them immediately whispered and gossiped.

"Did they make you uncomfortable?" ask Faris when the two get to the parking lot.

"I'll ignore it like you said."

Faris smiled and stroked Vanes' head, "Smart."

Vanes clucked because he became misbehaved with Faris' treatment.

Faris immediately entered his room while Vanes entered his class.

At lunchtime, Vanes came to Faris' room to take him to lunch there.

"I miss your cooking" said Faris smiling broadly when she found out that Vanes had brought her provisions.

"Then eat a lot."

Faris nodded and immediately ate with her voraciously. Vanes who saw that was also happy because Faris liked his homemade food.

"How's your match going?" asked Vanes to make Faris stop the chewing.

"He's asking for the end of the month tomorrow to get married."

Vanes stopped the movement of his hand, suddenly his chest felt tight.

"If it's for the best I'll try to catch you."

"No," said Faris, staring at Vanes, "I still will not continue the marriage. I think you can be more patient."

Vanes smiled but Faris knew that Vanes' smile was forced.

Seriate...
