Sweet Curse

Sweet Curse
They're Not Human

Arriving in the room Jeslyn immediately hugged Lisa while crying loudly. Surprised Lisa could only calm Jeslyn by rubbing her back. Lisa knew Jeslyn was terrified, but she didn't expect her roommate to cry.

Luckily Juna didn't directly force Jeslyn to tell her stories today. It seems like he is aware of how Jeslyn is doing now.

"Lisa's... I-they. hyks.they're not all humans, hicks..." Lirih Jeslyn while slightly stammered because of her sobs.

"Who do you mean them? What does the Juna family mean?"

Jeslyn nodded small. His hands were trembling and his body was shivering. "Why is your body shivering like this? What do you need? Tell me what can I help you with?" Lisa panicked to see Jeslyn's condition getting worse. He shouldn't have taken Juna to have Jeslyn have dinner at his house.

"A-grab my phone. I want to call my mom."

In a hurry Lisa took Jeslyn's phone, not forgetting she also immediately sought out Jeslyn's mother's contact for a call.

After getting some prayer readings over the phone from her mother, Jeslyn's condition improved. Lisa was relieved.

Now Jeslyn could sit and talk normally again. Even though his face was still terrified. At least he's better than ever.

"So they're not human? But why can we see it?" Lisa is confused.

"But they're not ghosts. I asked my mother a little about this. They were like demons who wanted to become gods in a cunning way."

"How about Juna? Isn't Juna human?"

"That's what I'm confused about. How can Juna alone be human, but his whole family is not. Or maybe Juna's a foster child?"

"No way Juna's a foster child. You remember Juna's great energy? I think he's getting that energy from his dad ."

"Totally so." Finally Jeslyn knew how an ordinary human like Juna was getting that much energy.

"Anyways, we should say this to Juna first."

"Are you sure? The principal warned us not to say anything. Also if Juna hears this, will he not be surprised?"

"I thought Juna was suspicious about his family. That's why he doesn't want to go home anymore."

"Then you tell the story. I'm scared."

Lisa agreed. Juna must know the truth. Although he may be hit with the reality.

"What about Jeslyn's condition?" Ask Juna.

It was still early morning to start classes, but Juna had already taken Lisa to her hiding place. Though not yet the morning sun rose, but Juna had sent him a message to meet.

"She was quiet after being recited a prayer by her mother."

Juna nodded in understanding. He was grateful nothing serious happened to Jeslyn.

"Then what did you hear from him?"

"How do you know there's something? Do you really know?"

"I just feel like there's something wrong with my dad, but I don't know what it is yet."

"I'll tell you a story, but promise me that you'll be fine after hearing it."

Juna nodded confidently. He's been waiting long enough for all this. There was no time to be sad for him, even though he was bitter. He just wants to know the truth.

"Jeslyn said your whole family wasn't human. They're demons who want to be gods."

Juna just nodded in understanding. Apparently so. So all this time he was always surrounded by demons. Juna's usual reaction made Lisa even more worried.

"Are you okay?"

Juna nodded small. "I'm fine." Juna's hands clasped tightly as he said that.

"Of course, revenge. That demon killed my mother and replaced her soul with a demon just like it."

"What do you mean?"

"Did you feel like something was wrong with my mom?"

Lisa thought for a moment. Actually Lisa feels that Juna's mother is very young even though she already has a child as big as Juna. But Lisa thinks it's nothing more than a relief from her facial care. It's modern age after all.

" It's not really that strange. But I think your mother looks very young."

"really. At first my mother didn't look that young. All that changed when I entered Junior High. At that time I also dreamed of being visited by a group of snakes and my mother was in the middle of it. He said that what I see now is not the real him. My father killed my mother and replaced her with the demon."

"..."

"Even in the dream he still apologized to me for choosing the wrong father. But none of this is his fault."

"Wait first. You said snake?"

Juna nodded. "Do you know anything?"

"Actually the god who gave me this energy was also a snake. The little black snake. There's a pair of small ears above his head."

"Snakes in my dreams are also black, but I don't remember if they have ears."

"Do you think the god who gave me energy was your mother?"

"where possible. My mother was just a normal human being. If he was a god, there's no way he'd lose to my father."

Also true. Why didn't Lisa think about it. Wait a minute, he remembered the novel he had read in class.

"Let's come with me." Lisa pulled Juna out. Juna could only obey because it seemed like Lisa knew something.

Here they are. They were in the class they used to attend last year. Luckily no one had come yet, so they could search for the novel more freely.

"What are you looking for?" Juna asked confused.

"Help me find a novel."

"What novel? On this shelf only contains textbooks. How can there be a novel."

"There was. Trust me, I've read it."

Although still in disbelief, in the end Juna helped Lisa find a novel that even she did not know the title and also how the cover.

"Meet!" Lisa said excitedly while showing Juna a thick book.

"You should read this. Because I don't dare read that anymore." Said Lisa while giving the book to Juna.

"Why?"

"The last time I read it, an evil god in the form of a bird came to me. Remember when I screamed and fainted for the first time in class? That's because I read this book."

Juna receives the open from Lisa. A picture thick book with inherent fairy tale nuances. Juna doesn't know if he can read a book like this. But if this has anything to do with her father and mother, then she should read it.

"When the match you also pass out. Is it all because of this bird god?"

Lisa nodded. "He suffocated and absorbed some of my energy. Lucky you came at the right time. He always leaves when you're around me. Maybe even because I'm with you more and more, she never comes to me again."

"Isn't that weird? Why would that be?"

Lisa shrugged her shoulders not understanding. "I don't know, but I'm glad he didn't show up again. And I hope this book can help you."
