Chapter 18: The Mysterious Flock

Hearing the sound of footsteps emerging from the bushes, Augustus got up from his seat and pulled Yuna's hand towards him.
"Sorry Miss Yuna, but please stay behind me for a moment." Augustus held his katana with his left hand.
"Eh? ah, b-good." Reply Yuna.
Not long after, a group of people wearing warrior-like clothes and black robes emerged from the bushes while making a circular pattern that surrounded them.
One of the men, came forward before Augustus and opened the black hoodie he was wearing.
"Good night adventurer, sorry to interrupt your time with these sudden affairs." Say that guy.
A 30-year-old man with a trained body carried a sword in his left hip. That person had a smiley friendly face, yet somehow, August was a little uneasy with that smile.
"Night, I don't know who you are but..can you explain first why you came here with this group around you?" Augustus.
The old man smiled at Augustus. "Wah-wah, forgive me for being disrespectful before. First of all, allow me to introduce myself first. My name is Petra Yugas. I am one of the Generals of the Weis Kingdom army" Petra said.
August slightly tilted his head hearing Petra's explanation. "General squadron? what is a general doing in the middle of the night?" Ask Augustus.
A general of the royal army came into the forest at night with his entourage and came to Augustus, of course Augustus was astonished and suspicious because of that.
"Regarding that, the answer is very easy. It's because we're trying to bring Princess Felencia back to the Kingdom." Answer Petra.
Augustus grew even more confused after hearing Petra's reply. "Felencia? who's that?" August's words were astonished.
Hearing August's question, Petra made a astonished face. "Who? isn't it clear who's hiding behind you?" Petra.
"Eh?" Augustus immediately faced Yuna who was behind him.
"Um anu...." Yuna was at a loss to say what to Augustus who was looking at her.
Seeing the confusing situation between Yuna and Augustus, Petra chuckled. "So that's it.seems like the princess herself didn't tell you her true identity huh.." Petra.
Hearing Petra's words, Augustus was finally able to deduce everything. "Ah so-so.no wonder why I was offered such great rewards..." Augustus.
The reward of 40,000 gold itself had initially made August suspect that the person he was going to control was an important person. And that suspicion apparently paid off when she found out that Miss Yuna was actually a Princess.
"So that's how it is. Have you understood why we're here? that's right, we're here to escort the princess back to her palace on the orders of the King." Petra.
Augustus was actually curious about why Yuna was disguising her true status which was a princess from him, but he was also curious about why Princess Yuna would pay Augustus 40,000 Gold to escort him to the far-northern kingdom of Varisis.
Weis Kingdom itself is located far south, that means. It took a lot of effort and work time for someone from the south to the Kingdom located in the North. In other words, Miss Yuna must have a good reason for her to leave the kingdom of Wais.
The evidence he hired Adventurers to escort him became one of the proofs that he really seriously wanted to arrive in the kingdom of Varisis safely. Although August did not know what the reason was, he certainly knew that Miss Yuna was not kidding or joking about it.
However, the fact that a general of the army from the Kingdom chased him himself up to here. It bothered him enough for a reason. He doesn't know what his chronology is, however...
1 The thing is certain, Yuna wanted to be forcibly taken by the surrounding retinue of soldiers, and since Augustus had already been given the responsibility of escorting her all the way to the Kingdom of Varisis, Augustus could not let that happen.
"So? do you understand now, adventurer master? if so then allow us to bring the Princess home in peace." Petra.
Petra approached Augustus with the intention of pulling Yuna who was hiding behind him.
Yuna who saw him tightly pulled on August's clothes tightly in fear.
"Then Princess, let's go home." Petra pointed her hand towards Yuna.
Seeing the frightened Yuna behind him, August blocked Petra's hand using her body. "I'm sorry but I can't allow that." Augustus.
Hearing August's words, Petra was slightly astonished by it. "Don't you hear it yourself? that she is the princess of our kingdom and we were ordered to bring her home by the King?" Petra.
"I know that but.it doesn't change the fact that I've been paid by him to escort him to his destination safely." Reply August.
Hearing Augus, Petra put on an annoyed face as well as took a few steps back from Augustus.
"Master Adventurer...are you serious? not letting us take him home would be like declaring war on the Kingdom of Wais indirectly right?" Petra.
"I know, but still I can't let it go. I can't let a little princess who's scared when she's about to be taken away by a troupe that's coming out of nowhere." August pulls his katana blade out of its sheath.
Seeing August draw his sword, Petra clicked his tongue. "Huh, so in the end it will still wear a sword huh. Alright, then adventurer master, I hope that you do not regret your decision to have declared war on us." Petra took out her sword blade from the sheath.
All the troupe who saw Petra followed him and took their swords out of the sheath.
Yuna who saw the people around her take out their swords, trembled in fear. "Lord Augustus..Will this be okay?" Yuna said with a trembling voice.
Augustus who heard Yuna, pointed his face towards Yuna who was behind him and smiled confidently. "Just calm down, this is nothing to me." Petra.
