The After 150

The After 150
Peace Air

Something was missing from me, as I tried to get up from my bed of tears and my body felt weak, I opened the window Back to the mysterious feeling of deja’vu, the morning breeze, and then I opened the window, sunlight covered by skyscrapers, and people who are living their lives.

This is my daily life..then what is this feeling deja’vu I experienced.... did I forget something?? Forgetting… as I pondered in confusion the alarm went off loud signaling the first lecture hours would start soon within minutes then I immediately got ready and forgot everything that happened in the morning ambiguous this.

As I walked down the street I saw people living their lives in peace, a group of friends joking around behind a glass cafe, a little boy clasping his parents' hands tightly on his way to school, and all those who are walking on these sidewalks live their lives with an air of peace.

The air of peace. When I was in a hurry to the station I passed an old poster and paused to reflect on it, a poster drawing a peaceful life with a bright future… Peace air…

About peace and conflict this country will never be as peaceful and bright as this if there is no one who dares to go forward and is willing to die on the battlefield… those words reminded me of an old veteran who spent the rest of his life after the war just for regrets.

In my childhood I just remember sitting and contemplating in his old rocking chair from sunrise to sunset, he did not move much from the chair or interact with the people around him,

my grandfather Karsa the war hero…

In this world there are some people who refuse to give thanks, they condemn themselves for the guilt of being able to live a peaceful life, he said, like the war veterans who had served their duty to fight and ended up safe. The loss of a precious friend, the loss of a limb, and the loss of the desire to move on, is what my grandfather Karsa the hero went through.

My grandfather lived with a depressed feeling considering his comrades in arms were not as lucky as he was still alive, despite already having a family he should be happy with, he refused to smile, she said, he just sat with a blank look every day while looking at the street in his eyes is now a peaceful road.

My grandmother told me that her grandfather and good friends always dreamed that one day they could breathe the air of peace together and live the rest of their lives in the old days to the end by seeing their country in the filled with people who can smile widely, until one day they are separated.

"Your grandfather was put into the Western Continental's leadership division and arranged for a war platoon from a safe distance" Grandma told me

Of course at first hearing the order grandfather refused to accept it, immediately did not accept after hearing a few words coming out of the mouth of the grandfather who spoke by phone.

"The grandmother scolded him and told him to go back to talking to the leader." Grandma with a high tone

In the end grandfather joined the commanding division which was the division that was tasked to rule in the command room and only went down in a few major battles. Until the day finally arrived, OPERATION MERPATI PERAK that is the name that is always on the mind of grandfather until the end of his life.

The operation was aimed at monitoring the eastern continental headquarters, which were secretly built in the western continental area, grandfather continued to feel uneasy seeing his friends descend directly into the field while he only got a task to watch in the command center room.

He has pleaded many times to the boss so that he took part in the field with his friend, but the request of the grandfather is always rejected outright by the superior on the grounds that the operation will be completed quickly and smoothly with or without the presence of the grandfather there.

"Who would have thought that the base was just bait to lure the troops who served in the area around the command center" the grandmother said

"IT'S A TRAP!!" shouted the leader of the operation on the battlefield.

What is heard next from the leader's communication device is the sound of firing machine guns and very loud bomb explosions, until then the communication device dies.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!? QUICKLY IMMEDIATELY SEND HELP" shouted the raging grandfather at that time.

The entire eastern continental army barged in quickly through the decoy base, the road in front of them was clear with only a few guards left along the 20-kilometer path to the command center.

All troops in each division were ordered to gather around the command headquarters area, then midway to the western continental command center there was the largest and last battle of the Mass War, the BATTLE OF the GOLDEN WING.

The last and greatest battle of the Mass War lasted for several hours, every minute of every second the troops between the two camps fell, Meanwhile Grandfather with a mounting anger he shouted loudly, every second, running in the midst of the onslaught of bullets, he threw his weapon at the enemy without fear of being shot, for him there was nothing that could scare him.

The great battle was won by the western continent and ended the Mass War that had lasted for tens to hundreds of years.

Western continental victories were declared and spread by radio around the world, with people cheering to celebrate the victory and mourning the heroes who had died with honor.

A month after the battle ended, the soldiers who participated in the final battle were all crowned as war heroes as well as those who had died, those who survived were able to return to where they came from and knock on the door of the house.

But when the soldiers came home with big smiles and happy cries at home, Grandpa returned home with a fake smile.

Behind his smile was hidden sadness and regret over the incident on the battlefield, Shortly after meeting his family he immediately went to the family home of his colleagues and apologized to them while crying sobbing.

"Maybe you've never seen the real figure of your grandfather, but if you knew he was a very great man in his prime." said the grandmother proudly.

After telling grandfather's story, I could see Grandma starting to grieve, therefore after calming him I immediately went out of the room and gave the grandmother time to reflect on herself.

In the living room of my grandmother's house, I sat in an old chair while looking at the picture of my grandfather with his colleague on the wall, seen in the photo, the young grandfather smiled and was proud while embracing his best colleagues.

The story becomes the clear reason about the bad figure of the Father that I have because he himself does not have the figure of the Father who is on his side, all he has is someone who throughout his life is filled with regret and guilt, without regard for his family and the people around him he just left this world…
