50. The Secret of PALMYRA ATOLL (Part 1)
A ring-shaped coral island called Palmyra Atoll has a face that is so beautiful, with a beautiful lagoon in the middle.
But the beautiful one has a terrible story. It is said that everything that happens on this island is called a demon, so the island is referred to as one of the most mysterious places on earth that enter the anomaly zone such as the Bermuda Triangle.
Palmyra Atoll or Palmyra Island is a remote island between Hawaii and Samoa, United States. An island located in the outer Islands of America, precisely in the northern Pacific Ocean.
The island was first discovered by American sailor Edmund Fanning in 1798. Fanning was on her way to Asia. He accidentally anchored his ship because it was slightly off track while driving. They only stopped for a while and had not had time to name the island.
The island looks like a real paradise, untouched nature, lush tropical vegetation, lagoons and coral reefs. However, Behind her beautiful face, Palmyra Atoll is an island that has taken a lot of casualties, so no wonder it is also nicknamed Ghost Island.
Because of the many creepy events that occur on the island, people also believe that the island is actually cursed.
Over the years a number of incidents have occurred on this island, even too many if said it was just a mere coincidence. The island is also filled with poisonous creatures, and is believed to be possessed by an entity with terrifying powers unknown to them. According to the lucky survivors escaped alive.
1798 Years
The American ship “Betsy” sailed from America to Asia, suddenly crashing into a reef near an uncharted island and sinking. The crew of the ship who tried to swim to the island to save themselves partially drowned, partly eaten by sharks, the remaining ten people managed to reach the mainland and for two months they stayed there, he said, unfortunately only three survived.
The survivors claim that the island itself is a living creature that has a very vile mind and killer.
In 1802
A sailing ship that was arguably leading in its time named Palmyra, led by Captain Swale to sail in the Pacific Ocean. His ship accidentally encounters a strong wind that leads them to a small island in the northern Pacific. The ship failed to avoid the rocky atoll (large reef), so the ship's body was destroyed on top of the coral. All the crew members were victims. All that remains is the wreck.
Shortly after the incident, a Spanish ship passed around the unknown island and found a wreck named Palmyra that was almost completely destroyed. Since then the beautiful monster island has been named Palmyra atoll.
1870 Years
An American Ship “Angel” disappeared off the coast of Palmyra. Some time later another ship that stopped for a while, found the bodies of all the crew members of the ship “Angel” on the island . It looks like the crew managed to make it to the island, but it was there that they were brutally murdered with body parts strewn along the shore. Who killed them is unknown.
Marchand Marin, a yacht enthusiast and well-known Biological scientist of the time, proposing a theory that Palmyra atoll is an island that has the aura of a living being or is controlled by an entity that is very strong, cruel and has the ability to trap people.
Where the island at once has a magnetic force that can attract many people to come to it. Marchand also said the weather there can change – change in an instant, from beautiful bright to dark cloudy.
The beautiful nature, beautiful lagoons full of ferocious sharks, fish and almost all of its marine animals are inedible because they contain toxins.
From poisonous mosquitoes to poisonous lizards also add to the horror of Palmyra.
In addition to the theory of professor Marchand, there are also several other versions circulating. That there are secret magical orders that have used Palmyra for centuries for their rituals or other versions that say that in Palmyra Atoll there is an entrance gate to another dimension.
1940 Years
Since 1940 the Palmyra atoll has been under the jurisdiction of the United States and was used for one of the bases attacking Japan.
During the second world war, the United States Navy occupied Palmyra. But their presence further reinforces the belief that there is an evil entity with a great power that controls the island.
The Americans established a military garrison (assigned army units). One of the soldiers named Joe Brown told that he and his colleagues while on the island were constantly frightened without cause by an invisible terror.
One day the personnel suddenly experience a panic attack simultaneously, an incomprehensible mass of fear, and some of them kill each other, some of them commit suicide mysteriously.
According to Joe Brown, one day an enemy plane was shot down over Palmyra. The plane started to smoke and crashed and disappeared behind a palm tree. The United States military tried to find the wreckage of the plane, but found nothing despite searching the entire island.
Hal Horton, a former Navy officer stationed in Palmyra from 1942 to 1944, recounts the following :
One of the military planes took off from the runway, climbed about 60 meters and turned in the wrong direction. The plane was supposed to be flying north, but it was flying south. It was a bright day, we really didn't understand. There were two people on the plane that we never saw again.
After the second world war, the entire army was withdrawn from Palmyra Atoll. The American government does not want to use it anymore. Too many horrors and question marks surrounded the place.
Other story :
Tom Wolfe, a yacthsman who once stopped at Palmyra Atoll and was one of the lucky survivors survived.
At first he was never interested in coming to Palmyra. A strange incident led him there. One morning after a violent storm, Wolfe whose home is located in Puget Sound, Washington, went for a walk to see what might happen after the storm.
Only twelve meters from his house he saw a cylindrical object carried by the waves on the rocks. He opened it and was surprised to see that the canister contained a navigational map to the island of Palmyra. Wolfe could only wonder what strange power had sent Palmyra's map right into his front porch.
Instantly he is overcome by a fear that he does not know the source. ‘’I'm not superstitious, but I admit that it completely changed my beliefs. It seems Palmyra touched me from three thousand miles away.” Wolfe.
Upon his return from Palmyra Atoll he must bear witness to a tragic murder that took place on the island. Murders of the famous but unsolved Mac Graham and Eleanor Muff couple. The two sail on a luxury yacht and are found lifeless with a tragic end at Palmyra Atoll.
At first glance, Palmyra is a beautiful, heaven-like place.
Palmyra, heaven on earth or a murderous monster?
The story of Doctor Cornellis Clarkson, Barbara Clarkson's great-grandfather who traveled specifically to Palmyra Atoll with Biologist Professor Marchand Marin in 1869.
Cornellis Clarkson was a wealthy intellectual who thirsted for science. He financed all the trips to Palmyra with Marchand and some of the crew. Marchand himself was one of the best biologists of his time.
At Marchand's suggestion they brought abundant food supplies because Marchand suspected all food sources in Palmyra, both water, animals and plants, of containing harmful toxins. They were only able to survive for one and a half months with the available food supplies.
Invisible terror haunted them from the first days they set foot on the Palmyra mainland. One by one the crew begins to fall victim in a terrible way, but Cornellis and Marchand choose to stay until they get an answer.
Until the forty days, when there were only three left. In physical and psychological conditions are already at the tip of the horn.
Their souls are completely shaken by the terrible events that befall their friends, the sense of despair and want to die alone often affect them strongly.
Cornelis Clarkson, Marchand Marin and one of his staff sat lined up right on the beautiful beach but still even the wind seemed afraid to blow.
The sun had just sunk when they faintly heard a cry that sounded like the sound of someone in pain. But the sound was far from the human voice.
“Argggh…!! Argh…!!Auuuuuugghhhh..!!” The voice was heard over and over again.
The three partners agreed to seek the source of the vote. It turned out that the sound was coming from the lagoon.
They approached the lagoon carefully. Too many poisonous ferocious sharks in there. They saw a strange creature that looked like a human child of a dozen years old, looked very fat with a very large hand size exceeding the size of a human hand and two strange antennae perched on his head.
The figure was in pain, greenish-colored blood coming out from his legs which was also much longer than the size of a human limb.
“The creature was wounded, I think he was a child of his kind. The adult size is much larger. Maybe up to three or four meters high.” Professor Marchand Marin.
‘’I don't care what kind of him, I want to help him.” Sahut Cornellis Clarkson was full of curiosity.
Cornellis Clarkson took medical supplies from a moustache bag that never escaped him. He approached the creature who groaned in helpless pain and almost fainted. Cornellis examined and cleaned the wound on the dark and thick skinned body. It looks dark but has a smooth texture, thick and strong.
"It's clear this is a toddler from island-dwelling creatures. This is amazing. We've got an invention." Cornellis Clarkson screamed with a full thump.
"It seems like this is not a published invention. Soon we'll die in the prey of these creatures. We seek them ourselves.Look at them approaching us." Professor Marchand's hiss with a voice restrained in fear but full of resignation.
"We'll die without any more curiosity.''Sahut Cornellis fought for hard.
There are about seven creatures of the same type that they help. True to Professor Marchand's guess, one of them was nearly four meters high, the other was lower but not too far away.
They were wearing all-black robes that had a pointy headdress similar to a witch. Their faces look vague. One of them raised a figure that had just been helped by Cornellis.
Suddenly a high oscillating vibration struck the ears of Cornellis, Merchand and his staff. An invisible vibration stomped at them for a moment then slowly softened and began to affect their minds.
Now they feel an incredible peace they have never felt before. Thirst, hunger, all worries are gone. They can see and enjoy the whole island.
Even more amazing there is a strange communication that is interwoven from the vibration between them and the islanders.Suddenly they have an understanding with everything said by the islanders. They can even answer it.
"Thank you for saving my wayward little son. He's lost. We are guests on your earth, but we do not disturb the earth as long as you do not disturb this place. Message from the ancestors, we can only stay on this island." Say the highest figure.
The three heard with calmness and happiness that they did not understand.There was no more mysterious fear that had previously continuously whacked them.
"The three of you will get our thank you badge. This badge as a guarantor of your salvation reaches your posterity. Keep it as good as possible." Say that figure again.
The three friends received each one a badge with joy. Their minds were completely overpowered by the feeling of peace and happiness that just appeared.
Fortunately, even the islanders gave them food supplies that have been selected from plants and animals whose toxins have been neutralized. As a source they return home.

The USS Michael Monsoor is the second Zumwalt-class destroyer of the U. S. Navy that will today be tasked with escorting selected troops from Navy seals to comb the mysterious island of Palmyra Atoll. The CIA reports that the island is suspected to have a secret laboratory operating to create a super-sophisticated robotic warrior.
Accompanying the Six Seals team, were also included several biologists, CIA agents and botanists.
Athena-1609 was again inserted in this mission with Irish-3700 and Irish-0601 as medical personnel.
