Laughter from two different generations of women was heard from a table near the glass facing the outside of the cafe. While waiting for the order to come, Rita enthusiastically recounts the childhood delinquencies of Andre who managed to invite Irma's laughter. Until a waiter approached them, bring two servings of super spicy fried rice along with one glass of milk shake strobery and one glass of ice thai tea.
"Good fun" said the waiter, bowing after serving Irma and Rita's order at the table.
"Thank you" Irma replied, and the waiter said goodbye.
Food was in front of them. Instead of directly eating, Rita was not even able to hold a laugh.
"Mom why?" Irma squinted one eye, looking at Rita who was laughing instead.
"Mamah the styles ngajakin you enter the cafe, still aja wong village tetep nempel. There is no current. The person to the cafe was the message pasta .. sandwich .. french fries .. or pastry." Rita remembers the names of the menus in the menu book. "This is even a fried rice message, in front is also a lot!" he continued laughing at what he ordered and because Irma asked for the menu to be likened, so there were two servings of fried rice in plain sight. "It's usually cool, it just appears fried rice."
Irma just smelled a smile, wanted to laugh, but was afraid of disrespectfully laughing at the would-be-in-law. Apparently before, Rita did not know that the order was fried rice because in the menu book that is written not fried rice but super spicy fried rice, until the arrival of the waiter who brought super spicy fried rice, and managed to make Rita gawk. Rita's laughter boomed, as soon as the waiter was gone, realizing how minimal her education was in a foreign language.
"Do you want another message? Let Irma order you again," bargained Irma.
"No need, honey, hunt dead worms mamah if you have to wait again. Not to mention the strange names, not necessarily matching the same mamah tongue." Rita refused the son-in-law's offer, then stuffed a spoonful of fried rice into her mouth. Instantly, Rita was speechless with teeth still chewing, her tongue feeling every grain of rice in her mouth. There was a strange sensation of fried rice that he ate when compared to other fried rice he had ever felt.
"Why, Mah? Do you want to change the menu again?" asked Irma again, seeing Rita's mimic is difficult to interpret, but according to Irma there is nothing strange about the taste of fried rice.
"No mamah pesen nasi goreng here. It tastes really good. Different from all the fried rice that you have tasted, let alone the spicy nampol really," said Rita while putting fried rice again into the mouth. His mouth won't stop until the plate is clean.
"Other times eat here again, yes!" said Rita while sipping ice thai tea, as soon as their food runs out.
"By, Mah." Irma showed off her smile to the mother whose stomach was very satisfied with the dishes there.
However, Irma's smile suddenly faded as there were two people walking towards her. Irma lowered her head, hoping the two people did not see her presence there. Irma was wrong. One of them had realized his presence, so they actually approached Irma.
"Irma, honey how are you?" tanya Ambar who is none other than Irma's former in-laws.
Irma was flabbergasted by Ambar who suddenly approached and greeted her, but in her heart she continued to pray that her former in-laws and ex-husband did not see her presence there. Rita, who turned her back to the direction of the voice, immediately turned her head when she heard someone greet her future daughter-in-law with affection.
Irma attaches her smile, although she is undeniably awkward. "Good news, Mah. Mom, how are you?" asked Irma, while standing up and greeting the middle-aged woman who was always good to her, despite being a former daughter-in-law. However, Irma was afraid of misunderstanding Rita.
'Mommy 'sophisticated? Is he his former father-in-law? Why does it seem to be so familiar, to the hugs and kisses?' I don't know what's going through Rita's heart. 'Is that man her ex-husband?' Rita watched the unblinking man stare at Irma, though Irma did not look at the man for a bit.
"Good news, honey. Who are you with here?" tanya Ambar glanced towards Rita while smiling.
"Owh, yes. Meet Mah, this is Mamah Rita. Mamah Rita introduce this Mamah Ambar." Irma introduced the two and they shook hands while mentioning each other's names.
"If this one?" Rita pointed at the man Irma had not introduced.
"My name is Ryan, Tan!" Ryan introduced himself.
'Tuh, really. It's worth it Irma looks surprised when they say hello.' Rita said in her heart, justifying her prejudice. He could not hide his dislike for the man in front of him, moreover he could see clearly that the man was watching his future daughter-in-law. "Rita, I am Irma's future father-in-law" Rita said with full emphasis in every speech.
"Irma to get married? Well, congratulations, yes!" With a smile that appeared Ryan reached out, congratulating.
"Thank you." Irma replied, without shaking the hand, making Ryan pull back his hand.
Hearing the news that his former daughter-in-law is getting married again, Ambar immediately embraced his favorite woman. For Ambar there is no daughter-in-law as good as Irma, and Irma will not be replaced even though there is Elsa who replaced Irma in Ryan's life.
"Congratulations, Honey. Congratulations, Mamah's coming, happy. May your husband take good care of you, not like a noble son who can only hurt you. Prayer is always with you. Thank you for always reminding me." Ambar is happy that Irma has regained her happiness, but at the same time sad that she will completely miss the opportunity to reunite Irma and Ryan. In her little heart she still hopes Irma will come back and forgive Ryan, as she has forgiven her son. Although her husband still does not accept it, but she still forgives Ryan and always meets her son outside.
"Thank you, Mah. May Mamah also always be happy," said Irma, "But, sorry, Mah I can not be long. There's still a lot to prepare." Irma did not want to linger to meet Ambar, but the existence of Ryan who was also there made it go awry and preferred to leave.
Ambar and Ryan stared at the backs of Irma and Rita who had walked away, leaving the cafe. Ryan's eyes continued to stare at the ex-wife, even until she was completely out of sight. This is the first time they met after the last time he got a threat from Dimas and Andre when he met Irma because he did not accept being kicked out of his own family.
'Why is she so beautiful?'
