Nia tightened the blanket to ward off the cold on her body. The woman frowned as she felt a soft touch on her forehead. His touch felt cold on the forehead making Nia spontaneously open her eyelids.
Long hair dangling with a white cloth covering her body made Nia stunned for a while before finally her eyes blinked a few times and opened them wide.
No one was there when he opened his eyelids. The woman then got up from her bed when she heard the sound of footsteps from outside and the sound of someone crying. The woman stared at the bed beside her where Dirga was still lying.
The sound of crying was getting clear made Nia curious and opened the door of the ward to look around the corridor that looked quiet. However, the crying sound was getting clearer making the woman involuntarily walk outside down the corridor.
"Who is crying?" Nia asked herself while circulating her gaze around.
The woman's hair suddenly stood up making her rub her nape with a slow motion. The air outside was getting colder but it did not make him stop to look for the source of the sound.
Nia immediately turned her body backwards upon hearing the sound of footsteps but as she twisted her body, she saw no one.
The woman's forehead shriveled even more thinking about who was walking behind her earlier. He clearly heard the sound of footsteps from behind.
The woman then twisted back her body and intended to step straight yet all she found before her was the pale face of a woman with long hair disheveled standing with blood all over her wearing body white dress.
The woman's eyeballs are widened. Her lips trembled trying to make a sound but nothing came out of her lips at all.
"Mmmmm."
"Uggh."
Nia tried to move her body and make a sound. However, his body was getting stiff.
"Darling, hey. Conscious. You why?"
Shocks and claps on her face made Nia open her eyelids with hunting breath and heart pounding.
"You're having nightmares?"
The woman tried to normalize her heartbeat and tried to see the face of the person who woke her earlier.
"Mas."
Nia bit her lips then went into Bima's arms and tightened her arms to her husband.
"You why? Nightmare?" Bima rubbed his wife's hair that seemed to shake.
"I had a nightmare, Mom. I dreamt of meeting Mbak kunti. His face was a lot of serem."
"When you want to sleep, read prayer. Mami slept before maghrib. I forgot to read my prayers and nightmares." The man chuckled at the sound of his wife shaking in fear. He did not think that his wife who looked fierce and brave was still afraid of the supernatural.
"Ih, what a scary dream I had, Mas. Still a darling." Nia released her embrace and rubbed her face. While Bima himself came down from the bed to open a box of water that was deliberately purchased and handed it to his wife after he made sure the tip of the straw into the plastic glass.
"Makanya read the prayer before going to bed. Yes, my mother slept again. It's still three."
"Not sleeping since?"
At this time Nia was staring at the face of her husband who did not look like a new person waking up.
"We're in the hospital waiting for the sick. That's why I don't sleep. Just sleeping next to mom while playing HP." Bima pointed at her cellphone which still displayed a screen where there was a stock chart clearly visible in Nia's eyes.
Playing the Bima version of course makes money. It is very different from playing other people's versions.
"Yes, now you sleep and don't forget to read the prayer. I'm not sleeping tonight and I'll take care of my mom."
"Really, Mas?"
Bima nodded in agreement. After all, he was on leave for a week. Tomorrow he will go home and sleep at home until the afternoon, if possible.
Nia finally laid her body on the bed followed by Bima. It was fortunate that the bed they occupied accommodated two people. If not, then the only way is Bima roll carpet on the floor and will invite his wife to sleep below.
Bima and Nia return home after her parents arrive at the hospital and look after Dirga who is still unconscious. Patients are not yet allowed to visit. However, the family did not want to leave Dirga alone in the room. So they choose a room with a large size in order to occupy two beds and make sure if they will not be noisy or disturb patients.
Arriving home, Bima had played with her twins first before she finally chose to sleep and rest herself. While Arga had gone with Jillo to the hospital accompanying Oma and their opa.
"Mom, I'd like to eat a rickshaw. Can I ask you to make it?" Nia came to the kitchen to help Ms. Idah to make the rujak she wanted.
"Neng Nia is pregnant again?" Bu Idah's eyes widened looking at the mistress of the mistress in disbelief.
"Well, I guess, Neng Nia's pregnant again."
"No, Mom. I have no intention of adding. Five kids is enough."
"Not in genepin, Neng?"
"This is even, ma'am."
"Lho, Den Arga, Den Jillo, Den Kello, Non Alana, and Non Alea. Five, Neng." Ms. Idah counted the names of the employers and pointed five fingers in front of Nia.
"Six, Mum. Chila is also my son. So I have six children, two grandchildren." The woman raised her hand then pulled one thumb and put it together with the five fingers of Idah Bu who was still raised.
Nia smiled broadly. "Well, this is true."
Ms. Idah laughed at the mistress's actions. The middle-aged woman then made what the mistress ordered with the spices in the refrigerator. Luckily, he had bought fruits for stock at home.
While Bu Idah was preparing a ripple of Nia's order, the woman herself was currently relaxing on the sofa facing the television screen. His intention was to lay down his body on the sofa and rest his body for a moment before the figure of the woman who became his daughter-in-law came with one of his grandchildren.
Sometimes Nia amused herself to imagine if she already has a grandchild at her age who has not even reached 33 years.
"Clara, don't take a nap?" The woman reached out her hand and took the 2-year-old baby and then held it.
"Just waking up, grandma," Chila said, mimicking a baby's voice.
Nia smiling. The woman asked, "how are you getting a little light?"
"That's fine, Mi. Kinda tasty. But, I'm not in Bang Ji's favor to come to the hospital. He said I was told to stay at home" Chila said with a shy face. The mother-in-law knew she was coming by the moon. Although it was fine if her in-laws knew, still Chila felt bad.
"Jillo's still possessive of you?"
Nia asked lightly. He knew that his second son was a little possessive of his wife. In fact, do not hesitate to vent his emotions if jealousy has approached.
"Still, Mi. I don't know anymore to say how the same Bang Ji so not possessive again" said Chila. The woman sat herself down next to the mother-in-law while looking at her daughter who was sitting quietly in the lap of the Oma.
"You can be patient with it. Don't be lured if he's angry. Remember, your marriage should not fail. So any emotion, never say anything you'll regret." Nia advised her daughter-in-law. "So is Jillo who will be Mami nasehati."
"Thank you very much, Mi. I'm lucky to have a Mami-in-law like a good and caring Mami" Chila said with a shy smile. She was initially afraid of her husband's stepmother. However, over time he began to know the good nature of his mother-in-law and make her comfortable to share stories.
Rujak made by Bu Idah is ready and served on the table. There were two bowls of rujak where one bowl was for Chila and the other for Nia.
"Are you going to college with Jillo or are you going to college?"
"It looks like it's going to be one college campus with Bang Ji, Mami. Know for yourself that Bang Ji wouldn't let me go to college anywhere else." Chila said as she scooped the voice into her mouth.
"Mommy knows that. Oh, aye. Papa has also prepared a house for you to stay. It just so happens that there are our neighbors who want to move house abroad and his house is sold. That's why Papa had a plan to take the house."
Chila immediately looked at her Mami-in-law. "But, the house in this complex must be very expensive. Not good if you have to bother papa and mami," said Chila is not tasty. The woman is uncomfortable if she has to trouble her husband's family continuously.
"The name is also from parent to child. You will also know when your children are adults, and want the best for your children. That's what Papa is doing right now," Nia's timpan smiled casually.
Chila nodded her head and lowered her head. In his mind was his days in the village for the past 3 years. This is what he will miss if he leaves the village where they live.
In the afternoon Bima came out of the room and then lay her body on the sofa with Nia's thigh as her pillow.
"Not enough sleep than that, Mom? Want to get some more sleep?" Nia looked down only to see the sleepy face of the husband.
"Enough, Honey. I just still feel drowsy." Bima rubbed his eyes which were immediately held back by his wife.
"Don't poke, Mas. Your eyes may hurt."
"Kiss, Mi. Let me not cook."
"Mode," sneered a voice from behind.
Nia looked back and found the figure of Kello standing with a backpack hanging on his shoulder.
"Kello, when were you there?"
Kello did not immediately reply but he glanced at the clock that was coiled around his wrist for a moment. Then, he said, "it's only been two minutes."
"Yes, then you go straight to the room and change clothes. I'm going to join Uncle Dirga, right?"
"Yes, Mi. Then I'll go upstairs first." Kello went upstairs where her room was. While Nia and Bima were still lazing on the sofa facing the television screen.
The two intend to go to the hospital and Nia will go home with her children. The woman had no intention of staying in the hospital anymore.
