The Estuary of Desire Baruna

The Estuary of Desire Baruna
Eps. #73 State of Emergency

"We're going up the emergency stairs, Una! It's right over here!" exclaiming Genta while pointing to a passageway that will take them up to the main deck of the ship through an emergency staircase. The water level by then had already reached the knees of the adults in the corridor of the cabin they passed.

"Good, Dad!" Baruna hurried to follow Genta's steps. He knew Genta must have known all the evacuation routes there.

"PLEASE....! Help me....!"

As it passed through a room in the cabin, suddenly a voice of screams for help sounded faint.

"Wait, Dad! Looks like there are still people trapped in this cabin!" screeched Baruna, so that both of them stopped their steps.

"PLEase...!" The screams sounded again.

Baruna put her ear on the door of the room to confirm her hearing again. Baruna then grabbed the doorknob that said emergency exit and tried to push her all her might to open it.

"The door was locked electrically, Una. Maybe the door was damaged so that when there was an emergency the door could not open!" genta said he was worried.

"How about we break it down, Dad!" exciting Baruna.

"Can't, Una! That door can only be opened with an electronic key."

"Then how is this, Dad? We still have to save those who are still trapped in there, right?"

"Father will return to the ship's bridge to retrieve the master's key. You go up to the main deck and find Flo there. While they're still here, let Daddy help them!" genta commands. Without waiting, Genta rushes to run back to the ship's bridge and leaves Baruna to retrieve the master's key.

Baruna just fell silent at the place she was. To be honest in his heart he wanted to immediately climb the emergency stairs to immediately climb onto the main deck and look for the whereabouts of Flo and Diaz on the top deck of the ship. However, his legs felt heavy and it was as if something was holding them back from moving. He felt as if there was a bond calling him to help the people who were still trapped in the cabin.

"PLEASE....! Whoever's here, help me!" The same screams were heard. Even the screams were getting louder. Surely the people in there are very anxious because the water is getting higher and the position of the ship is also getting tilted.

"I have to help the man first" Baruna thought as she kept her eyes on the emergency exit before him.

"If you have to wait for Genta's father to come back, it's possible that the person in there has not survived. I need to figure out how to force open this door." Baruna pressed her forehead. His eyes turned around trying to find something he could use to open the door.

For a moment, his gaze was fixed on a fire ax mounted on the wall of the cabin. The axe is next to a carbon dioxide tube and is an APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) and it must be in every passageway in the ship's cabin.

Baruna immediately grabbed the axe. "I'm gonna break the emergency door's electrical lock. That way I'll be able to open it, '" he assured.

Praakk!

Baruna hit the axe at the electric box on the doorknob so hard that the box was smashed into pieces.

Braakk!

When the electric box was damaged, Baruna immediately kicked the door and broke into it.

When the door opened, Baruna widened her eyes and was shocked.

"Diaz.....!" baruna shouted when she saw Diaz sitting on the cabin floor without being able to move, and the stagnant sea water had reached her neck.

Without waiting for anything, Baruna rushed to lift a very heavy iron locker and had previously squeezed Diaz's leg.

"What happened to you, Diaz? Why are you in this place? Where's Flo? Has he gone up to the main deck?" she raised Diaz's body and helped him stand up.

"Who.....! Please save him, Baruna! He was still trapped in this room!" panicked when Diaz remembered her sister.

"Aarghhh!" Diaz grimaced and unable to walk, she felt extreme pain in her legs.

"With your leg injured, Diaz!" panicking Baruna, he realizes that Diaz's right leg was injured by the rubble of hard objects in the room.

"Malgene....!"

At the same time there were the cries of two men approaching them.

"You've managed to open this door before Dad, Una!" Genta smiled proudly at the sight of Baruna being able to enter the room, even without using the master key.

"Daddy Genta, Om Rendy! Please save Diaz! I have to find Flo. Diaz said Flo was also trapped in this cabin!" Baruna immediately ran to another passage through the room to find Floretta.

"Don't go there, Una! The passageway goes to the side of the ship. The waves are going to be huge out there! Don't let you get out of the ship's deck!" prevent Genta from giving a warning. However, Baruna did not care about Genta's warning at all. He sped up his leg to look for Flo's whereabouts.

"Please save Diaz, Rendy! I'll catch up with Baruna so she doesn't get out of the deck!" exciting Genta.

"Ok, Genta! You please make sure Baruna is safe. I'm gonna save Diaz. In addition, assistance from the SAR Team has also come. I need to help evacuate the other passengers." Rendy nodded and rushed to Diaz to head to the evacuation route and was about to take her to her fast boat.

"Fw....!"

"Flo... Where are you?" baruna shouted to her name Floretta.

Baruna tried to speed up his steps down the corridor, but his steps were very hampered because in that place the position was already very tilted. Many times he slipped, so while walking, both his hands had to hold tightly to the iron trellis on the side of the ship.

The position was already on the edge of the ship at that time, so the shock of the ship that continued to be hit by waves was felt there.

"Please! Help me!"

Baruna jerks. The sound of screaming was clearly heard in his ears.

Baruna turned to the side of the ship and although it was not very clear, she could see a woman holding onto an iron barge by the side of the ship, but part of her body was already in the middle of the sea. The woman is also seen wearing a life jacket, so her body remains floating on the surface. Great waves continued to hit him and the woman still tried hard to hold the iron in front of him to be able to withstand the waves that would throw him more and more into the middle of the ocean.

"Flo ... where is it?"

Baruna was feeling very anxious, the splashes of sea water blurred her eyesight, which made her unsure of who the woman she saw there was. While continuing to hold on to the iron fringes of the ship, Baruna crept her legs closer to the woman.

"Fw......!" Baruna was surprised. When his position was near the woman, he could clearly see Flo who was there struggling against the ferocity of the waves.

"Baron...! Help me, Bar!" Flo also shouted and looked very frightened.
