Chapter 48: Forced Pickup

Soon the two women boarded the carriage and left the Blackton residence. All the things that Ai needs are in her bag, because Kyliee's death is now known. Ai begins to suspect that Axton's first wife may be going through the same thing as Kyliee. For now Ai could not say much, the whole trip was spent quietly staring at the train window. Masy accidentally let her best friend dissolve in daydreams, waiting until ready to tell a story.

Today at the Bohmen residence there was a commotion, of course the reason is because they did not find Ai in Barack. Even Barack's head said his nephew didn't stay there one night. Ai left on the same day as her arrival. Allard was really panicked and confused by this truth. While Amber just fell silent not knowing what to do.

“ do we just tell Duke if his wife disappears?” Amber asked with a look of panic. The woman was in the central room of the residence in front of her Allard was pacing back and forth in confusion.

“ I don't know either, this will definitely disrupt Duke's focus on doing his plan” Allard replied.

Axton looked surprised when Brian said that Allard had come. The man should have been in the village to look after his wife, but why today he returned to the residence.

Soon Wellington's horse-drawn carriage sped towards Halbert's residence a little further away from the city centre. Along the way Axton thought what punishment was suitable to be given to his wife.
